Puppet-related asks I've received
The puppet content creators are @aroace-get-out-of-my-face aka Miss E, @maridrawss, @nowimjustastranger, and @stoicjewel (and occasionally @seamstriss and their mom coming in with whatever the ASL signs for "Steel Chair" are). I'm more of a lorekeeper / serial organizer, and instigator.
However, that has not stopped people from directing asks at me rather than E.
These asks are all related to Multiverse Time with Dr Pine, a puppet AU for Gravity Falls.
@chocolatinasworld
[Tagging @proyecto-347 as they are mentioned]
As the lorekeeper, I also come up with a lot of the lore and logistics of how living puppets function (and how that would have affected history and society in a world that parallels IRL events) which is used and executed by the others who do the art and writing.
A lot of the more historical concepts are handled by E, however.
One thing we took a lot of creative liberty on was Count Von Count. In Sesame Street proper, not a lot is known about him, not even if he has a first name. With the information and lore that is available, we expanded upon.
It's important to note that the version of The Count used by us is not meant to be the canon The Count, he's part of a Muppetverse AU we created, taking place in Dimension-S240.00, which is meant to be near-identical to Dr Pine and Dr Birch's dimension in terms of puppet logic, lore, and logistics. The only real differences are the cast of characters.
Dr Pine's dimension is Dimension-P-45-35-35-15-44, which is also called "The (Good) Puppet Dimension" and revolves around the puppet version of the Gravity Falls cast, while Dr Birch's is Dimension-K-55-65-65-85-56, also called "The Evil Puppet Dimension" and revolves around the opposite and evil versions of Gravity Falls characters.
In all three of these dimensions, there are puppets instead of humans, but other life forms on the planet are otherwise biological (flesh-based), meaning the animals are regular animals rather than puppet animals or stuffed animals. All domestic species/breeds of animal such as dogs or cats are smaller, scaled to the size of standard puppets, while wild animals are all the same sizes they are in real life.
Also, all puppets regardless of type are required to wear clothes, same as humans in real life.
You can see an explanation of vampire puppets here.
I did cover puppet colour genetics here. But here are some other puppet "biology" things.
There are three BASIC puppet types:
Humanoid
Monster
Animal
Humanoid puppets have felt instead of skin, and typically have hair on their head. They also will also typically have eyes, a nose, ears, and optional facial hair including eyebrows. While they can come in any colour just like all puppets, it is more common for their felt to be similar to realistic human skin tone (which falls under orange/brown: having one red gene and one yellow gene).
Humanoid puppets are near-universally the standard puppet size of 2-4 feet in height when fully grown.
Examples of standard Humanoid puppets:
[From left to right: Bert & Ernie, and Waldorf & Statler]
However, there are cases of humanoid puppets missing some structual features, or having additional. This is sometimes, but not always, a sign of mixed heritage.
Examples of non-standard Humanoid puppets:
[From left to right: Beaker, who lacks ears. And Prairie Dawn, who lacks a nose.]

Deputy Durland
Mrs Gleeful (Fairy)
Wendy Corduroy
Robbie Valentino (Vampire)
Tambry
Candy Chiu
Monster puppets have a single layer coat of fur on top of their felt layer. They have noses, retractable teeth and claws, and lack external ears. They sometimes have hair that usually but not always matches the colour and texture of their fur. They almost never wear shoes, even in dimensions where clothing isn't optional.
Examples of standard Monster puppets:
[From left to right: Elmo, and Grover]
Uncommonly, they can also have horns and/or non-retractable fangs/tusks; these are considered vistigial traits that most monsters have evolved away from, but the dormant genes remain. Monsters are usually the standard puppet size of between 2-4 feet fully grown, but some monster puppets are human sized, though this is often an indication of mixed heritage.
With their retractable claws and teeth, and foreward facing eyes, ecologically Monster Puppets are dinural ambush predators.
Examples on non-standard Monster puppets:
[From left to right: Rudy, who has horns. Henry and Calvin's mom, who has non retractable fangs, Calvin, who is a standard baby monster, and Henry who has horns and a non retractable fang.]

Grouch puppets are considered their own race, but are a divergent evolution from Monster puppets, and still fall under the "Monster" umbrella.
It is believed that Monsters and Grouches evolved from a common proto-Monster ancestor, splitting off where a population of proto-Monsters settled in Grouchland and evolved seperately from there.
Grouches are distinct from Monsters not just for their namesake attitude, but also for their love of second-hand objects and non-wastful tendencies. Physically, they are different from monsters by lacking a nose, having a prominent monobrow, and a longer, double-layer coat of fur. They also do not have retractable claws, nor the dormant genes for horns, tusks, or fangs.
General consensus is that ecologically Grouches are scavengers, and opprotunist hunters.
Examples of standard Grouch puppets:
[From left to right: Oscar, and Grundgetta]
Some Grouches will 'reawaken' dormant Monster traits such as a nose or thinner fur, these are considered naturally occuring mutations.
Examples of non-standard Grouches:
[From left to right: Osvaldo, who has a nose. And Grizzy, who has a single-layer coat.]

Grouches with Monster heritage and Monsters with Grouch heritage are also common, often blurring the line even furhter.
Examples of Monster-Grouch mixed puppets:
[From left to right: Cookie Monster, who is Monster dominant. And Herry, who is Grouch dominant.]
List of Grouch / Monster mix Puppets in the Multiverse Time with Dr Pine AU:

Leopold Birch (Grouch dominant)
Murray Birch (Monster dominant)
Bud Gleeful (Grouch Dominant)
Animal puppets are easily the most diverse puppet type. And unlike the Humanoids and Monsters, there are no set standards. Because animal puppets are based on animal species, their traits can vary and because of that they are broken down into three categories.
Categories are felted, furred, or feathered.
Felted Animal puppets only have a felt layer, these are puppets typically based on non-mammalian animal species. Furred animal puppets are typically mammalian puppet species, and have a layer of fur with minimal felt. Feathered animal puppets are typically based on bird species and have a layer or patches of feathers on top of their base felt layer.
Standard size puppets are the common puppet size of 2-4 feet, while large size puppets are anywhere between IRL human size, and kaiju size. And while these size categories can happen with any puppet type, it happens most frequently with Animal puppets.
Regardless of what species animal an Animal puppet is based on, they can still have hair including eyebrows and facial hair.
Examples of felted Animal puppets:
[From left to right: Miss Piggy, and Kermit the Frog]
Examples of furred Animal puppets:
[From left to right: Fozzie Bear, and Pepe the King Prawn]
Examples of feathered Animal puppets:
[From left to right: Big Bird, and Sam the Eagle]
List of Animal Puppets in the Multiverse Time with Dr Pine AU:
Soos Ramirez (Felted, gopher)
Grenda Grendinator (Felted, iguana)
Pacifica Northwest (Feathered, secretary bird)
Lee (Feathered, toucan)
Melody (Furred, black bear)
Nate (Furred, cat)
Below the cut is a summary of sexual anatomy. Although the word sexual is used, it has nothing to do with puppet reproduction. As reproduction and sex are unrelated things for puppets.
Baby puppets are created by parent puppets through a family friendly, build-a-bear type process; as explained here, and here.
Proceed at your own risk for NSFT puppet anatomy explanation.

Oscar the Grouch is, well… a grouch. Sometimes he takes it a little too far…
and then you remember this man knows how to dance tango.
Bert and Ernie as autistic-coded
Bert: – strong need for routine (everything has to be organized: his schedule, his pigeons, his collections) – very specific interests (pigeons, clips...) – sensory/social sensitivity (gets overwhelmed by Ernie’s chaos...) – very direct/literal communication, struggles with absurd play
Ernie: – repetitive play (songs, jokes, routines like bath time + Rubber Duckie) – emotionally expressive, doesn’t really suppress what he feels – seeks constant interaction (always trying to engage with Bert) – struggles with boundaries sometimes (keeps playing even when Bert is uncomfortable)
idk, just my interpretation but it makes a lot of sense to me 😭
thinking about how Oscar the grouch is canonically the middle child
it’s not even officially confirmed but come on 😭 just LOOK at their interactions oscar is clearly jealous of his brother for being their mom’s favorite and the way he argues with bunny… I mean IT’S RIGHT THERE it’s so obvious who’s the oldest and the youngest and oscar is just stuck in the middle.
