So this is what I looked like today. I know. It’s not pretty. I had been doing housework for about 45 minutes when the plumber showed up. So I wore a #mask while already pretty warm w a filter for 15 minutes & this was the result of what my #Lupus does with wearing a mask normally. I also have COPD & chronic bronchitis. BUT I WEAR A MASK!! I do it because I ask others to protect me by wearing theirs (because I do not want to die) & because I want to protect them as well & because IT’S THE RIGHT THING TO DO!! Does it suck & is it uncomfortable?? Yes!! But (I’ll repeat myself here) it’s the right thing to do!! I’m back in bed (#Lupus rash & all) after my #pain appt, a short trip to the pet store & home again. It’s crazy how little it takes when in this much pain & bad #flare how little it takes to put me down. I miss having more #ability . Punishing #chronicpain pain patients for those who misuse or take illegal drugs and for the manufacturers who did shady things is beyond wrong. 19 years ago yesterday, after months of chemo & radiation for #hodgkinslymphoma , I finished my final treatment & had my first clear PET scan & had the #doctor tell me the words every patient longs for, that there was no longer #cancer in my body...And I’m so #blessed to have beat the odds (and prove the doctor’s wrong) by having two #miracle children naturally (and one I adopted). However, it is bittersweet. I realize that, although I had to beat cervical (and what the doctor’s found would have been ovarian) several years ago (luckily I just needed #surgery for that one) & that I have a lot of health issues now, I’m grateful to be alive! But I also feel it’s so unfair that so many people I #love (most recently my #bestfriend who I consider my #sister ) fought so hard only to be taken from us. To Lydia, Jenni (my cancer sister who fought the same stage & type of cancer, receiving the same treatment at the same place only to go thru a reoccurrence & be taken), my daddy, my grandma & grandpa Ulrich & so many more, even though you are gone, you are fierce warriors who inspire me every day to keep fighting!!
