because they didn't use ANY pronouns. At all. Saying that Ralsei is "just a feminine boy" implies that they think Ralsei is cisgender, hence me pointing out the they/them pronoun as it was the most direct way to disprove that.

There is a case to be made for he/him pronouns but calling them a boy is too far??? What the fuck are you on about. Why did you choose one singular person to get pissed at if it's apparently so unclear what gender the character actually is. Why did you even start the argument in the first place. You could have just blocked them but instead you pulled up pronouns as a receipt when you apparently don't even think it's clear if those pronouns are actually correct for the character?
cis people are usually referred to as he/him or she/her unless their gender is unknown to the speaker, the speaker is referring to a group, or the speaker has a habit of of consistently using other pronouns for people. (some older folks who are allies have just started calling everybody by they/them pronouns) Toby Fox does not have a history of doing this. the other stuff could be circumstantial or referring to some other personal crisis even but the creator breaking an established pattern and referring to ralsei with different pronouns is an unambiguous sign that ralsei is not in fact a gender nonconforming cis boy, while the rest can be dismissed. it isn’t necessarily a sign that those are the pronouns Ralsei uses, since they seem to still be figuring stuff out, they/them tends to be default if a person doesn’t have explicitly stated pronouns and you don’t wanna misgender them. this does not mean you have to call everyone who appears to be having a gender crisis by these pronouns. Many people subscribe to the belief that you should use the current set unless requested otherwise as to not “force open the egg”. therefore, this is not an indication that they are denying ralsei is trans.

see I’m always of two minds about this. On the one hand over emphasis of romantic bonds being more important or valuable over any other types of relationships in our society is occurs and has seriously harmed a lot of people who could be reaching out to their loved ones more but don’t because that’s "not what friends do” or “too much” not to mention the amanormativity.
on the other hand, these people want it not to be gay so so badly. Sometimes yes the people saying this are in fact not homophobic or against queer relationships or even queer themselves that being said the vast majority of the time you see this sort of sentiment it’s usually stemming from “ew gay” or “why do you have to make everything gay” which is sometimes phrased as why can’t you just guys be friends and it can be hard to tell the difference if you don’t know anything about the person it’s coming from.
TLDR: while it is entirely possible to read their bond as platonic without mischaracterizing them, most of the people who insist so hard that it’s platonic are coming from a place of homophobia whether they realize it or not
