I just drafted up the script for episode 5 of my animated series. It needs some heavy edits this time around...
Sometimes I just stare at the document in wonder. I have no idea how to pace out a minute of script, let alone 5 minutes. I run on hopes and dreams, math is not a core value in my brain. Which tends to be problematic, as timing is very math-based: calculating frames per second, pacing each shot, "distance" calculations for perspective, and not to mention the music that goes in each scene!
I tend to eyeball everything.
I have a cute pink calculator that's collecting dust, but when I need it, it works great. I really don't mean to be the type to outsource with technology all the time.... I just want to be able to get better at my timing.
