The Light Invasion (a trilogy in progress)
What if instead of the twilight invading Hyrule, the light spirits invaded the twilight realm? And then Link has to help Midna liberate her homeland one province at a time. Perfect for fans of:

The Magic Awakens (Complete)
Ever wondered what it would be like for the Triforce Trio to complete a traditional 'Legend of Zelda' quest while also attending high school? So did I! The basic premise is that the previous Link and Zelda sealed away the magic in Hyrule to beat Demise, thus allowing Hyrule to progress into a modern era much like our own, but now the magic is coming back and our heroes have to collect the six medallions to seal it away again.

Okay I rewrote the scene, and while I'm not too sure if I'm 100% happy with it, I think it's okay enough that I can move on... to a fight scene that I just know is gonna be a pain in the ass to write 😭
when you compliment or thank someone for being such a good friend to you and they hit you with the "i'm going to totally betray your trust soon and you're making it really difficult not to feel conflicted about it" stare 😂😂
realizing a headcanon of yours happens to make an element of canon even more heartbreaking when you hadn't even considered it from that angle previously

Reality TV AU in which Midlink are competing on a Survivour-esque show and Midna's goal is to be the greatest villain in the show's history but this gets foiled by Link seeing through her attempts to "stir the pot" and gush about her best traits in the confessionals.
And unfortunately for Midna, this means she doesn't get the villain edit she was gunning for, because her trying to put on a villainous act while Link keeps exposing her heart of gold to the audience makes for better television. People are seated! They've got the ship name locked down! They're posting compilation videos like 'Link Accidentally Foiling Midna's "Villain Era" for 5 Minutes Bisexual'.
Midna: [pours out all the alcohol in the bar before anyone gets to drink any]
Link in the confessional: "Gods we were getting so sick of all the alcohol! Thanks to her, the crew provided us with actual water to drink." [dreamy sigh]
In the latest episode they entered an alliance, much to the delight of their fans, and this is what they said in their respective confessionals:
Midna: "He'll learn to never make the mistake of trusting me when I double-cross him in the finale."
Link: "If she double-crosses me, I'm giving her my number."
Will probably write this idea as a Buzzfeed-style article recapping the season so far. I may also have to figure out how to embed fake tweets as well.

One of the funniest parts of 'Twilight Princess' that I can't wait to lampshade in 'Dearly Betrayed' is that when Midna took control of the kagarok in Lake Hylia, she could've just flown up to Lanayru Spring, but instead she went out of her way to restore Hyrule's main water source 😂
Her excuse is gonna be "well if i'm gonna abandon this world anyways, i might as well give them a fighting chance. the light dwellers can't exactly challenge zant if they're dying of thirst."

So the other day I realised that I have like 7 kiss teases before it actually happens in 'The Light Invasion Trilogy' whereas in 'Dearly Betrayed' I only have plans for two and of course I'm thinking:
A flash suddenly erupts nearby. Shortly thereafter, one of the hylian soldiers stumbles into the scene, far more stunned than they should be, and they admit that they got curious what a deku nut tastes like. Link tries to ignore the cackling in his shadow.

The wonderful, amazing, talented, (and funny) @ro-blaze just finished this amaaaazing artwork I commissioned for my fic! It depicts the opening of Chapter 14 of The Light Invasion, where Link gets his first look at the twilight realm under the oppressive control of the light spirits.
Ro was really sweet and accomodating of all my very specific instructions and requested revisions, and they were able to create this artwork that really conveyed the bleak, oppressive tone I was after through use of negative space and a monochromatic colour scheme. I highly recommend working with them.
