I don't know how much time my mother has left.

Today is the final deadline to pay for her treatment. We urgently need $700, but we have only raised $100 so far.

I am standing here with nothing but fear and helplessness. Watching the person I love most suffer while being unable to save her is a pain I cannot put into words.

I am begging you—if you are able to donate, please don't wait. And if you can't, please share this appeal. It may reach someone who can give my mother the chance she desperately needs.

It's not about being tough on crime, because the absolute toughest most brutal measure you could take against "crime" as a social problem is to alleviate poverty, and increase access to education, healthcare and social mobility.

It's about performing "tough on crime" as an aesthetic by enacting violence against a prop, i.e. minorities and the impoverished, who are fetishized and objectified to represent "crime." They are brutalized as punishment for crime, but never with the purpose of alleviating the problem of crime.

The doctors have warned us that her condition will continue to worsen unless she receives urgent treatment without delay. Every passing hour fills us with greater fear that it may become too late.

My mother is not asking for pity, she is asking for a chance to live. Today, she is waiting for compassionate hearts willing to stand beside her.
