- the main reason i left was inappropriate behavior in the NSFW channel of the guild discord. in complete tonal dissonance from the guild’s stated ideals to be a safe space this channel is filled with graphic shock porn at all hours of the day and night. this has been normalized to a baffling degree, and meanwhile many serious topics of conversation are brought up within this same channel book-ended by shock porn. when i voiced my concerns about this jack promised to simply split the nsfw channel in two, one for conversation and one for extreme adult content. this is not an acceptable solution, why is there a space within a safe guild for vulnerable lgbt people where members are encouraged to share extreme fetish porn at all? is it really just for laughs or do these members have darker intentions in exposing people to shock porn? who knows what these people’s intentions are on the other side of the screen. 

- there is a major problem with certain guild members sexualizing a character that is likely a minor, gorrik. based on the fact that taimi is 18 years old and she and blish went to school together, it’s not difficult mental math to realize that if gorrik is blish’s younger brother he almost certainly cannot be older than 18. it is their responsibility to err on the side of caution in the absence of a confirmed age, and yet guild members frequently joked about what fetishes gorrik would have and made sexual comments about him. this is centered around one particular member in their late 20s with a fixation on this character, and the massive red flags this raises have been completely ignored. jack didn’t address this issue at all in his apology to me. he completely brushed it off which speaks both to his guilt in engaging in this behavior himself and not wanting to own up to it and also his reluctance to be critical of his friends. this is ESPECIALLY concerning considering the number of minors within the guild roster.

- jack among other guild members dog-piled on a lesbian gw2 blogger (a non-member) in the discord with personal insults of her character based on things she didn’t do. this is a trend i’ve noticed: officers will not stop conversations when they go too far, and personal attacks on someones character are acceptable if jack thinks theyre “problematic”, even if this is based off bad information. this incident came at the heels of JP’s firing at arenanet, and the guild’s zero-tolerance policy for misogyny was not enforced at all in the rampantly misogynistic conversations that followed both incidents 

“Oh, who’s this lovely little lady?”

Serena’s voice, sunny and bright, catches Kirwyn’s attention. She glances up, follows Serena’s million-watt smile to its source—poised at the threshold of the front door is a trembling little mass of ferns, so overgrown she’s more of a suggestion of what a dog might be shaped like. She gives a single, plaintive “woof” aimed square at the strange sylvari sitting on her porch, dances back a few distressed steps, then comes right back to hover anxiously at the threshold again. Serena looks positively enchanted, folds up a leg dangling off the edge of the porch to twist around and get a better look.
