i think about this post a lot. like, when you put something up on tumblr, you can never really be sure what’s going to happen to it - what comments will get attached to it, what reblog chains will gain critical mass, what kind of weird tumblr subcultures your gifs will get reblogged into.
and then we have this. this is a gifset of a cute moment from a pixar movie. of an infant mike wazowski finding a small coin and lamenting his lack of any pockets to store it in. when this person torrented monsters university, when they loaded these frames into photoshop, when they sharpened each frame one by one, did they know? did they know that shortly after expelling these gifs into the universe they would become a magnet for daddys-rainbow-princess, mister-daddy, and babygirl-in-daddys-world?
knowing what they know now, if they had the choice to go back to that moment when their finger hovered over the m key as the cursor in the pirate bay search bar blinked, would they type the rest of the word? if they had the power to go back in time and not make this gifset, thereby sparing the world from seeing a bunch of daddy kinksters opine about pockets on a goddamn pixar gifset, would they?

A year ago today I came the closest I have ever come to ending my life. I was at a very low point and extremely unhappy in my relationship and with my life. Shortly into 2020 me and my girlfriend broke up and while it hurt for a while I got a new lease on life. I figured out many things about myself and the cycle of abusive relationships that has been always present in my life. I have learned that I love to do my makeup. I am fun, and funny. I am a great puppy mom. I have learned what my ADHD means to my life. I have learned who my friends were and are. I moved in all by myself and have learned how to like spending time alone. I have started unlearned many unhealthy coping mechanisms. I have learned how to start setting boundaries in my relationships. I have goals and things I’m looking forward to. I have a long way to go still but I have made so much progress.I feel more fulfilled, happy, and centered than I ever have before. For the first time in my life I do not wish to skip the next 5 years. It gets better. I know people say that, it really does though.

Then the next day Peter Manfredonia, a white armed serial killer who was on the run across 4 states, was caught and arrested peacefully.
And how black and black ally protesters in Minneapolis protesting for the arrest of the officers who killed George Floyd, were attacked by the police. They were peaceful.
But a few weeks ago, white people stormed governments buildings in Michigan protesting the quarantine because they wanted a haircut and the police did nothing to them. They were armed.
The problem is clear as water. WHITE PRIVILEGE AND RACISM. It exists and is real. Deny it? You’re the problem. Don’t say or do anything about it? You’re the problem. Abuse your white privilege? You’re the problem. Don’t see a problem with all this? YOURE THE PROBLEM.
CRY WITH THE BLACK COMMUNITY. MOURN WITH THEM. STAND ALONG SIDE WITH THEM. FIGHT FOR THEM. BECAUSE BLACK LIVES ARE IMPORTANT AND THEY ABSOLUTELY FUCKING MATTER.

Context: my teacher translated the verb “to grasp with one’s hand” as “to fist” since that’s kinda what it literally means, but you can’t translate it like that into English because “to fist” means something ENTIRELY different, but she doesn’t know that.
So she was explaining how they use the verb to describe the angel of death taking your soul — he rips your soul out of you with his fist. Now that’s pretty damn metal, but she said word for word “the angel of death fists you, and then you die” which is the single most terrifying and powerful sentence to ever grace my ears
