Found some of the TLS Rainbow Brite dolls at Walmart today! But why ... is their hair like this? There didn't seem to be a ponytail holder rattling around inside the box? Are the ponytails down on purpose??

Wrote a post about My Dollection, but want to add some updates. Someone kindly pointed out to me that they're in Malaysia, so shipping is not cheap. From my email discussions with Awa (AwA?), two to three Penny's Box Antu Nature's Secret blind box dolls can fit in a medium box, and shipping is $28 USD from Malaysia to the US, plus $6 USD for tracking. (Shipping for one doll would be $18.)

Sadly, the 1/6 scale/YoSD Blind Box ImomoDoll does not include the outfit, face-up, wig, or eyes. A normal face-up (no 3D accessories) is $65 USD. Awa said that if I purchased the $9.90 Dollection Gift Bag, I would get eyes and a wig for the doll. So I did.

The additional cost for face-up and gift bag with my two previous orders pushed me over the free shipping threshold, and Awa was happy to combine my orders if I was willing to wait. Awa also told me the ImomoDoll would be ready next month, which seems pretty fast to me. I ordered two Penny's Box blind box dolls one and three weeks ago, and they're both ready to ship - which is, like, lightning fast.

So if you just want one or two of the Penny's Box little doll blind boxes, and you live in the US, Jane's Dolland sells them for $21 USD, but the shipping is much cheaper. Jane's Dolland also has quite the selection of BJDs and vinyl dolls, including FateMoons, Xaga doll. Asleep Eidolon, and Tiny Fox.

I guess that makes two doll dealers I recently discovered.

I’ve had these Obitsu60 clear pumps for many, many years. Since somewhere around 2005 I think, though I don’t remember.

I don’t remember a lot of things.

Obviously they’ve discolored over time. You can’t see they’re also seeping plasticizer and both sticky and greasy.

Since they’ve already been ruined by the passage of time, I did an experiment.

They went in a baggie of cream developer, which is approximately 12% peroxide, then into a jar with some water in it, and on the candle warmer.

The candle warmer isn’t very hot, really, but warmer than nothing.

After two or three days (I don’t know, time was a blur for me BEFORE the lockdown; it’s worse now) they were opaque-ish (I kind of expected that) and still rather orange.

OR yellow, if hit with the flash.

So I refreshed the developer, new bag, new water, etc. and put them back on for another day.

To the eye, they are like the color of fatty milk. Slightly ivory. On camera, still picking up orange.

Yesterday, when I took them out and washed them off, I was thrilled they were at least no longer greasy and sticky. Overnight, they became greasy again.

Gross. I don’t trust that not to melt a doll’s feet.

So I’m still playing with these shoes.

They are slowly becoming transparent again, and what color they appear to be is heavily dependent on the lighting they’re viewed in.

In the office, they’re kind of yellow, still. A lot better than they used to be.

Sadly, her face IS mangled.

I died laughing when I opened her head. It looks like they tried to open her mouth, gave up/failed, and superglued it shut again. The left side of her mouth is sliced from one hole to another. Still not sure that wasn’t a stitched mouth mod gone wrong. I don’t know. I don’t want to.

Seeing the head go from that to this was like letting out a long tense breath I didn’t know I was holding

She has kind eyes you know. I think she’s relieved to finally be with someone who’ll help her. Poor mangled doll.
