family reunion
Ooooor I could just go ahead and open them immediately because I'm bored XD
The height difference between my various dolls is always a great source of amusement/delightful for me. As an excessively short person (5') this is exactly how I feel when talking to most of my friends irl ;p I am liking Yasmin a bit more, though I later I might have a rummage through my old Bratz clothing stash to see if I can find her something better to wear.
True to my word Renee got restyled immediately, though she did get to keep her shorts XD She's wearing a dress made by @dollsahoy which was originally intended for a factory Blythe, but clearly has found the doll it was truly meant for. I love her even more than I expected, definitely a worthy successor to ReN(ol)ees of the past. I think she's going to be my new Emotional Support Doll for the time being.
Feeling a lot more excited about the Dream Besties in general now! After Daisy I may circle back for the others from the first wave that I passed on.

One year ago today I posted this miniature Jim Henson's Dinosaurs photo I created using real figures, lighting and miniature sets.

Dollshe Hound : Face Up
Making of
I'm glad Ryan was Ken because now we can have a screen accurate Ryland Grace face sculpt
I put the shirt fabric straight through the printer and for the jumpsuit patches i used transfer paper
Putting rocky outside to dry i was afraid someone would steal it so i took some pictures there, my hand for scale
sneakily putting them on the wife's desk while she naps
her finding it
:D
Wowww great work!
I especially like that you put the shirt fabric through the printer, it is a different texture and effect than iron ons and it all looks so good together with the variation
Here is my custom Bee Boy made with Porter Geiss' head, Heath Burns' body and custom printed clawed hands. I would have posted him far earlier but there was always an issue with getting the hands done that I felt like I couldn't post him yet. I really wanted this specific hand position that was only used on CAM Gargoyle and Puma but I didn't have any spare so 3d printing seemed like the best way to go since it reminds me of the hands from Bee Girl.
His outfit is Prince Bee from the OMG series and the wings are glasses I trimmed the arms off from OMG Fierce Queen Bee's glasses. I figured since he is a male bee he would have smaller wings compared to my Bee Girls.
I'm really proud of how his hair turned out since I still struggle with mens hairstyles but I think it looks really nice on him.
It has taken awhile to get him done but I'm so proud of how he turned out and I love his sweet little self.
he's beautiful
your choices of clothes and wings work so good
Here is all of my Monster High Bee dolls together. I don't know why but I really love CAM Bee's design so much that it scratches a specific itch in me and having variations makes me happy.
I'm not much of a G2 collector but having lining these up really makes me want that small bee doll now hahah....
love your bee dolls so much
Create a Monster Bee Girl is one of my favourite Monster High dolls of all time so I've always wanted to do a boy version of her for my collection. However I didn't want to use Heath's head sculpt due to him having sculpted hair so I just kept the idea on the back burner until the inspiration hit me.
I got this stained Porter Geiss doll and while he is one of my favourite dolls too, I figured painting over his stains would be a good enough reason to work on my bee boy.
I rerooted him with black and blonde saran and had his hair curled up with pipecleaners for the longest time cuz curling saran takes awhile to do.
As for his face, I went with red eyes and some eye dots reminscent of a late 90s to early 2000s Barbie, as well as gave him compound eye pupils inspired by the CAM Bee girl's eyes.
I really wanted him to look different to Porter so I gave him sad eyebrows reminiscent of Rochelle's and blushed him so he would look sweet.
It's just a small project but one I really wanted to try doing so I'm really proud of him. I couldn't think of a fun bee name for him so I've just been calling him Bobbee...

So, someone on X has found the image from FRUiTS Magazine that the one Tokyo Pop Barbie outfit was directly copied from, but, The Internet Being The Internet, they didn't say which issue it was. It's entirely possible someone in the replies there did say, but I don't have an X account so I can't see the replies.
Using the magazine image from the X post, I did a reverse image search and found a Pinterest that labeled it July 2000, so I went to The Internet Archive and found July 2000, and it wasn't there.
I looked at issues around then, and found it in September 2000
The famous Harajuku street fashion magazine
Barbie photo from here
What might not be so obvious is that the text on the waistband area of the original is...not suitable for an American toy...
I saw the FRUiTS image in 2004 or '05, showing what a direct rip off the doll outfit is, but didn't think about saving it myself back then, because none of us knew that information would be harder to find in the future
@roisindubh211 asked about the print on the...oh, looking closer at the image, I can sees that it's at the neckline and sleeves, too, so it may have been an undershirt
The bright yellow letters are hard to read, but the other colors say ROCK, DOPE, SURF, and FUCK, with some mirrored. I can't find a completely clear image of the doll's clothes, but...yeah. One or two of those words isn't gonna make it onto the shelves at Walmart XD
Someone quote retweeted it with their own camisole version of the top!

Last week I traded a dress for one that gave me MAJOR Volks vibes so of course, I had to drag out my brother for unpaid photography work 🙂↕️
Doll is Allegray l, a discontinued Volks F11

Beautiful photos
I'm so glad you picked the old F-11 for the photoshoot, it's so rare to see one
Just making myself go blind with this reroot job, hbu?
G3 Skelita’s skin is kind of pearly. Can’t wait to repaint her.
Last year, BGBF sent a box of doll stuff that included a Malibu Francie. The doll's head was in rough shape, with the vinyl faded on the nose and part of the lip (exposed by rubbed-off paint), as well as the whole head having pits, but the body was in really good condition. As a joke, I put the tan Odile mermaid head, which he'd also sent, on that body, and the result was so similar to Teen Skipper that I kept the combination.
The head, though, sat in the head box, and I honestly thought I'd never do anything with it. I know it's common practice to touch up faded head vinyl with alcohol (I think) markers, but I don't have any and didn't want to spend money on this head, with the pitting damage, anyway.
I thought about the experiments earlier this year with de-yellowing old doll heads, in a jar of 3% hydrogen peroxide in the sun, and wondered: since this head had pigment that was already fading in spots, could I use the hydrogen peroxide treatment to bleach it to a more uniform color?
Yes. Yes, I could.
ohh the color turned out such a close match to the Xinyi

sharpi joins and they watch tiktoks-that-feel-like-vines compilations (btw i'm slowly building the sharpi-comic treasure trove... the page is still a WIP but...)
[grabbing toy companies by the lapels]
ANTHRO DOLLS. YOU ARE MISSING THE HUGE MARKET POTENTIAL OF ANTHRO. DOLLS.
I'm not at all a furry but I would still rather see anthro fashion dolls instead of another line of human "high schoolers" who have toddler proportions huge heads to try to differentiate themselves from other huge head dolls
I know toy companies would point to old lines of anthro dolls that didn't do very well (and there have been several) as the reason not to make any, but that was the past
people now want the Hasbro rat dolls
OK OK, I guess I should have been more emphatic about "anthro fashion dolls, in roughly sixth scale"
because those AG-size plush dog girl dolls at Walmart are on clearance already
augh the plush dogs ... there was so much to like about them, I couldn't figure out why I am zero interested. they are labeled fashion doll but they just aren't
