Finished making this yesterday--it took an extra day because I had partially pulled the pockets inside-out, to keep from accidentally sewing through them when attaching the ruffles, and, when I put them back the way they should be before I sewed the skirt to the bodice, welllllllll that's when I discovered that I had sewn the ruffles to the wrong end of the upper skirt. (PMS Crafting Yay)
I considered picking out the pockets and flipping them over to sew back in, but that would have meant that the print on the upper skirt would have been upside-down from the print everywhere else, because I was paying attention to print direction when I cut everything out. I decided to pick out the top stitching I had done at the ruffle seam, then carefully cut the upper skirt fabric just over the ruffle seam, because I did not want to deal with picking out all of the ruffle gathering and do all of that again. So, the result is a half inch shorter, and there's an extra layer of fabric in the seam where the ruffles attach to the upper skirt. It's fine.
The picture of the whole dress is a little blurry, but I'm wearing it now so can't take another picture. It's fine.
ooh yay green and purple and *gets to the last image close up*
