As far as fic recs go, I do have a few.

Now I Wanna Be Your Dog by @remus-john-lupin is probably my absolute favorite canon compliant chaptered fic I read this year, or probably ever for that matter.

The Light That Blinds My Eyes by @aryastark-valarmorghulis is a beautiful and hopeful vignette of a fic. It’s filled with wonderful emotions and left me grinning in contentment by the end.

Runaway by @gooseberrybrains is a really cute and very accurate portrayal of non-magical teenage life.

Strong In The Real Way by @moonllotus is a beautifully written slice of life fic that perfectly drops you into Sirius’s troubled head for a bit.

And because I’m vain, I’ll rec one of my own!

Troubles In Bed Sharing because it was so damn fun to write and have everyone scream at me whenever it updated.

My European Studies professor decided a few weeks ago to take a Friday and instead of following the syllabus, he spent the entire hour and a half comparing Hitler’s actions from a European perspective to that of what Trump is doing in America. He never repeated a single point, and even used video and photos like this to show the comparison.

To make things better, he had us do an in class assignment for participation points. He first played a clip on youtube of one of Hilter’s speeches, subtitled and 3 minutes long. He then played a clip of one of Trump’s rallies. Our assignment? Copy down every single sentence that matched in translation down on a sheet of paper or a word document that wasn’t repeated. The person with the closest amount to what my professor found got a candy bar.

My professor found, in just three minutes of a speech, that Trump matched 65 different phrases/sentences to that of Hitler’s translation.

Invest in infrastructure and programs to protect the frontline communities most vulnerable to extreme climate impacts like wildfires, sea level rise, drought, floods, and extreme weather like hurricanes.

Reduce carbon pollution emissions from our transportation system by building out high-speed passenger rail, electric vehicles, and public transit.

Ban fracking and new fossil fuel infrastructure and keep oil, gas, and coal in the ground by banning fossil fuel leases on public lands.
