The reason I'm making this decision has to do with the state of the game and the community, but the bigger reason is burnout. I've been playing the game consistently since March of 2025, and especially as of recent, playing the game everyday during my lunch period has finally tired me out. At somepoint during the Timekeeper update, I told myself "If I get Timekeeper, I'll quit. If I don't get Timekeeper by the end of the update, I'm gonna quit from there." I've only gotten 8 soulstones by the end of the update, so I guess the prophecy came true.

Now, the game itself and the community. I genuinely don't know what it is, because things seemed to be doing fine before, but it feels like CRK has been on this downwards spiral since March of 2026. There was a massive controversy in March that I won't get into, but players encouraged boycotting Devsisters. Personally, I think a big chunk of it could be dumbed down to a misunderstanding over what happened in the story. There was controversy over the KDH update, but I think it can be brushed aside as hating on something popular or "made for kids." Now, May… where do I even begin? First of all, Devsisters faced financial losses so bad that that the CEO isn't even getting paid(do not mistaken the losses for bankruptcy). Secondly, there's a level in the new story that cannot be beat without a cookie that's hard to get. And just as things couldn't get worse, between now and the start of the month, which is pride month by the way, the mods of the official CRK discord server have been cracking down on LGBTQ+ ships and selfcest, from what I've been hearing. I honestly don't think the fandom is, at this point, anything but in shambles.

Now look, I don't mean to say that I directly hate CRK or Devsisters. I want the game to genuinely do good, but it feels like for each week that passes, the game shoots itself in the foot. If things don't don't better sooner than later, the future of the game doesn't seem very bright. By the time you're reading this, I've left the guild I was in and have put "left" on my kingdom. I can't tell you exactly when I'll return to the game, but I think it's time to get the weight off my shoulders.
