I would like to make it clear here and now: I am staunchly against gen AI in all forms. The arts are for the living. I would much rather have a world full of terribly flawed human art than spend a moment gazing upon AI slop.

I'm incredibly happy to share that my first piece has been published with RFD magazine!
It's a saphic, colonial-era inspired, meet-cute story about the bashful daughter of the Duke's daughter, Milo, and the daring and confident Maria. Together, they become the most flourishing pair at the party.
Check out Issue 204: Screen Queens here or their website here.
Art Press: I've got 2 pieces in the current Spring Issue of RFD, that is out today!! I just sent my submission to be in the Summer issue as well. Pick up a copy:

Just got my first short story accepted into a literary magazine!! I won't say which one just yet, but I am over the moon about it. Milo and Maria are going to be available to the public :)
Eternity by Alex Warren, but in a morning loss of my 15-year-old self sort of way. In an overcoming the heartbreak that is growing up, sort of way.
Different skies “There are many skies,” you used to say. And through the tales you wove, I would always wonder how the threads of your existence managed to shine brighter than mine. There were many skies for you because you were the light in all of them. You weren’t just the wind passing through; you were the very reason the winds knew which way to blow.
There are, and there will always be, countless skies waiting for you.
And I? I was the traveller of foreign roads..roads too heavy to tread upon, roads that wore me down and tore me apart. Maybe I deserve some credit for trying, or maybe I was never a strong traveller to begin with. Even when our paths converged, you ran ahead, and I remained behind… always behind.
You’re so pretty; if you were a city, you’d be Manhattan’s blue a sky tailor made just for you. And me? I’m just country grass, another season for your winds to pass.
ao3 turns 16 today.

reblog if you love archive of our own and how they firmly refuse to let censorship have any place on their platform
I'm begging everyone reading katabasis to shut the fuck up about it "being like a text book" when you actually mean its dense. Tolkien writes textbook fantasy. You have never read anything outside of the YA section or from authors who dont think youre a moron. It shows with every, "you need to read this to understand Katabasis."
You dont actually! It doesn't hurt to have to context but also if Dauntes Inferno isn't already on you tbr or you've already read it, this book just isn't for you, I fear. Which is okay!
If you dont like dense books, thats fine! I like YA and I enjoy the softer fantasy. But for the love of God stop speaking like you have the right to an opinion on books that are over your reading comprehension.
I want to actually talk about the academic fantasy book on an academic level, not be forced to politely skirt around the fact that you can't read. And you are taking up and cluttering the space I want to be in with your nonsense.

I don't want my current WIP to be a romance by any means, but everyone should know in my heart it's K&R all the way. I will not give you their full names. I'm not ready for that yet
I'm 100% working on Katabasis now. I once again haven't looked at a single synopsis of the book, but I trust RF Kuang with my life at this point.
