When I found out I'm trans nonbinary ten years ago, I automatically assumed I'm transmasculine as well. Afab people who don't (exclusively) identify as a woman, would be transmasculine and amab people who don't (exclusively) identify as a man, would be transfeminine. And since then, I never really thought that much about it anymore.
But since someone close to me, who doesn't fit this simple definition, recently came out to me as transmasculine, I started questioning myself too. Of course I don't have to. Two people can use the same label with contradicting definitions and still respect each others identities. But it made me realize, that the definition that I used for myself until now, starts to feel like a binary with extra steps. It would basically just mean afab trans. It's a discussion on it's own how (in)accurate and (un)important the afab/amab binary is. But either way, I'm not sure if I actively want to use a label for my genderidenty that is basically just that. And also use the transmasc pride flag everywhere, like I do with all my other pride flags.
Now of course I can just find a new definition and depending on that, still decide to call myself transmasculine. But I have no idea what that definition would be. There are so many definitions online. Some would fit me, some don't. For example that transmasculine means that you're simply both transgender and masculine. But making a separate label for that, doesn't make much sense to me. Yes, I am both. But putting those two things in one word? Another example is transitioning to become more masculine. A, compared to what you used to have, "more masculine" name, pronouns, gendermarker, clothes, hair, hormones, chest, genitalia, etc. I did some of those, but not all. So I would fit that definition too. But it feels a bit too simple and medical. Everyone's transition is different. And not the same thing as genderidentity.
I don't relate to a lot of other people who call themselves transmasc. That doesn't have to be a problem. Transmasc people are diverse. But it is another reason for me to question the label for myself. A lot of people see transmasc as almost synonym for trans man, which I'm definitely not. And I know a lot of trans people. But the majority is transfemme. Maybe just because transfemme people are usually more active in transcommunities in general. But still. I notice that I usually connect easier with transfeminine people. But there are exceptions of course.
I'm not saying that I'm not transmasculine and that I will immediately throw all my transmasc pride merch out. But I can't confidently say anymore that I am. I just don't know.
I know that there are also people who use other terms that are similar to the transmasculine and transfeminine labels. Like transneutral, transandrogynous and many more. It does make sense that this is something you can't put in a binary either. But I still don't really know what any transsomething label means now. Is it simply trans+opposite of assigned sex at birth or trans+genderexpression or something else?
Maybe I will just call myself trans nonbinary and that that's it.
I wish I could make white people(and not just white Americans) understand how diverse the pre-columbian Americas were. The history, religion, culture, politics was at least as complex as Europe's. There was the full gamut of religions, from monotheists to animists to ancestral religions. There were city building empires, village farmers, nomadic traders, and so many other ways to live. This is all just based on what we know, the fragments left behind and the stories of survivors of an apocalyptic plague. All this before the most extended campaign of genocide in history was waged in an attempt to wipe out those survivors.
Over 500 years spent trying to cut down a whole trunk of human culture.
Do you understand how much poorer our whole species is because of it? Can you imagine where art, religion, and science would be if we still had these vast bodies of knowledge? The stain of the colonial project will never be fully washed clean. We owe more than just the land to those we stole from. We owe them a whole future, a future that could have been brighter for all of us. If only greed and fear weren't allowed to rule this land.
I was originally planning on holding off sharing this until June, but then decided to hell with that; why wait?

A Two-Spirit Journey: The Autobiography of a Lesbian Ojibwa-Cree Elder – This book by Ma-Nee Chacaby can be a difficult and emotional read, but very much worth it.
Becoming Two-spirit: Gay Identity and Social Acceptance in Indian Country – I have yet to read this book by Brian Joseph Gilley myself, but heard positive things about it.

going to start calling it ethical monogamy. catch me giving a fuck
"i mean yeah it's fine that you're in a monogamous relationship, man, but, like, you're letting her have friends, right? she can go out and you won't freak out? her texts are private? she doesn't just say 'alright sure' every time you want to have sex? you interact with her friends and family without trying to make her look good? i just wanna make sure this monogamy is ethical"
haaaate that "transwoman" has made a comeback as an acceptable term for allies to use. separate those damn words NOW
promoting tags I saw in reblogs. very succinct explanation.
For those who are (somehow) not aware of the implication here: "Transwoman" is no longer an adjective describing a woman (who is trans.) The two words together become an enitely new word. It implies "transwoman is a different concept than "woman." A trans woman and a woman are both women, just like a tall woman and a black woman are both women (but a blackwoman would imply something that is not a woman.)
Another thing I don’t like very much about both the trans and alterhuman communities is the fact that they feel the need to stay so separate from one another.
Trans people will say alterhumans make a mockery of transgenders, and alterhumans will say that being trans and alterhuman are completely separate.
And yes, they are separate concepts, but they’re both pieces of people’s personal identity, and are definitely linked.
Our identities are also influenced by society, and a big part of that for therians is the way society projects human traits onto animals. Like how cats are feminine and dogs masculine. When you think about it, you see way more fem/fem presenting feline therians and more masculine/masc presenting canine therians. Obviously this isn’t a rule, just a trend.
There’s definitely people out there who are therians because they’re trans, or are trans because they’re therians. I can definitely say that my personal masculinity and masculine presentation comes from a place of canine masculinity, which is a product of society.
But in the same way, I feel genderless. In the same way a canine doesn’t have a concept of gender, neither do I.
I use he/him in the same way that people default to he/him for a dog. And I use it/its in the way that people use it for wild animals.
desegregate all sports now. no more gendered sports. its stupid
if you absolutely must, in primarily muscle force-based sports, create competitive classes like in boxing except separated by body comp, not just pure body weight. i mean, if you must. this will eliminate any tiny advantages in muscle mass. some will say basketball should have height classes but frankly some of the NBA's most impressive players were not tall so idk that this actually matters ever
the primary athletic impediment to all women is overwhelmingly cultural and psychological. i have won probably half the physical competitions with cis men that i have engaged in, friendly or otherwise. even without the benefit of a lifetime of people trying to make me throw or hit balls, i have won wrestling matches, sparring matches, funny backyard foam sword fights, video games, equestrian activities, dance, endurance tests of various kinds, etc. i'm small and weak. men think theyre stronger and more skilled than they are, women think the opposite about themselves
humans just arent that differently-sized or -shaped, as a species. we have almost no sexual dimorphism at all compared to the vast majority of other mammals.
animals that have similar levels of sexual dimorphism to humans, for example cats, dogs, and horses, do not generally have competitive events segregated by sex. the dog agility trials dont normally have separate leagues for male and female dogs (gendered competitions exist they're just unusual). because it doesnt matter. there is no kentucky derby 2 just for girl horses. thats not a thing
remove all gendered categories from online shopping websites and universalize clothing and shoe sizing. im sick of having to search two entirely different sections of ebay when im just trying to find a nice velvet loafer in size 39 EU. what the hell is "women's clothing"

Voidpunk
Voidpunk is a subculture for those who often feel rejected or disconnected from humanity. This is popular within aromantic spectrum and asexual spectrum communities but also includes groups such as neurodivergent people, disabled people, non-binary people, people of color, and other groups that are frequently dehumanized or called "subhuman" by society. Voidpunk is based on embracing the idea of being "not human". While some people within these marginalized groups seek to prove their humanity to their oppressors, voidpunk instead recognizes that these oppressors are bigoted and taunts them by saying "Maybe I am not human up to society's standards. What about it?"
Voidpunk has no one aesthetic or style but often includes relating to, or comparing oneself to non-human creatures such as aliens, robots, ghosts, or other monsters. Many people participating in voidpunk culture make "voidsonas"- an non-human original character that is typically a persona for the creator, often being a metaphor for the creator's own experiences with systemic dehumanization.
History
The concept of voidpunk was created by Tumblr user @arotaro on February 18, 2018, but the name came from the user @milkchocolateowl [1]. Voidpunk was officially defined on September 2, 2018[2].
Flag
The voidpunk flag was designed by the user @honteuzaikonfu on October 28, 2018[3]. Purple represents asexual people and non-binary people. Green represents aromantic people and neurodivergent people. The black circle represents a black hole, symbolizing the void as well as a lack of humanity. White represents the unity of the many communities under the voidpunk subculture.
