Genuine question, what is it about Huskerdust and Stolitz stans you find annoying?
so i believe i actually wrote my blog description back in 2024, which means it's a little outdated and i should probably revise it a bit!
that being said, i used to dislike these ships a lot more because A) i found myself agreeing with the common criticisms against them, but moreso B) i've built some resentment over how much more popular MLM ships tend to be and the way they not only overshadow WLW ships but also hold higher standards for them (sapphics) to be at an acceptable standard.
i'll admit that goes for any fandom to exist in history, though with the hellaverse in which even the creator tends to give less care and development to female characters, i just prefer to stay away from the majority. it's honestly more of a bias and about taking preventative measures than anything y'all actually did, and that's why i stayed respectful and chose to allow fans a chance to interact.
now, while huskerdust & stolitz still aren't my favorite pairings, i've developed more of a tolerance for them and even though i don't owe anyone a justification for my opinion, i still feel i was being overall unfair and want to be as open/pleasant to engage with as possible. i've adopted a "ship and let ship" attitude and respect that people have so much love and devotion to the characters they've attached to.

adding onto this (but it still deserves its own mini-post), why have i seen people claim chaggi is so bland, soulless, and full of nothing yet turn around and actively hate it so much? if there's no substance to enjoy then what do you even have that much passion for? i'm clearly missing something because logically i assume one would only feel neutrally toward the ship then, right? especially because anything about them that may cause division in the fandom are relatively tame compared to all the other "problematic" elements of the series.
before anyone argues, i'm not saying they shouldn't be criticized; sometimes it can be fair - just that it's a little weird to claim something and then make it seem like there's more reasoning to it than you let on.
Charlie is angry here. She wants the Vees gone, Vaggi is supporting her in typical Vaggi fashion, and Charlie has taken on her demonic form in a threat display of her own. She has absolutely no issue with threatening the two if that's what it takes to make them leave.
We switch to a closeup on Velvette, during which she ends up on the business end of Vaggi's spear and Vox intervenes. And in the next wide shot, Charlie's attitude has completely changed.
You'd think she would still be on guard, or maybe relieved that the Vees are on their way out, but instead she appears surprised. Her defensive posture has dropped. And as Vox steers Velvette away, she returns to her normal form, looking even more shocked.
Something happened here which she did not expect. And it's not Vox's casual disregard for the incredibly dangerous weapon, because he's obviously wary of it; far more so than he was when it was pointed at him, in fact. And he just as obviously puts himself between it and Velvette, so it's no mystery why he suddenly decided to take the threat seriously.
Charlie set up an elaborate, sabotaged to be actually life-threatening situation so Angel could "save" Husk, because she thought selflessly endangering himself could be the key to redemption. And then one of the people who spent the entire day mocking her efforts went and did that like it was second nature. And then that same person immediately turned around and asked if she thought he could be redeemed like it was some kind of gotcha.
Like. Sir. You literally just showcased your most redeemable quality to the Princess of Friendship Hell. And she noticed. What did you think she was going to say? (I'm sure he missed her reaction because he was focused on Vaggi, but still).
I was going to comment this, but I have so much to say that I think a reblog would be better.
Thatβs something Iβve noticed about Vox. Heβs incredibly caring towards those close to him, even if he doesnβt act like it. His words are cruel but his actions arenβt.
In the drawing tutorial video, he was very adamant that Val needed to eat, as he hadnβt eaten all day. Given that Viv has confirmed Val has an eating disorder, itβs very likely that Vox will go out of his way to make sure Val eats properly.
He was vulnerable with Alastor. He very obviously cared deeply about Alastor, and probably still does. Which is why itβs so sad that Al mocked him, because Alastor isnβt as willing to care about other people as Vox is. Theyβre both emotionally repressed about it, but Vox isnβt afraid of caring in the way Alastor is.
Vox goes out of his way to calm down both Val and Vel when theyβre in a bad mood, seen in season one.
So yeah, Vox may not care about a lot of people, and he may see most people as pawns, but heβs extremely caring and protective of those who heβs actually close to.
I recently listened to the season 1 commentary track by Viv, Skye (Animation Director) and Sam (Art Director).
There are some general summaries going around already, so I thought I'd do one focused on the Charlie/Vaggi/Chaggie related infos we get to know from it.

I might have still missed some things, and it's really fun content in general as well, so I definitely recommend listening to it on your own if you are able to!
Under the cut because the amount of info is pretty uneven per episode, so I wanted to do it all in a single post and it got pretty long.
Episode one
- Erika recorded the entirety of Happy Day in Hell in a single take
- "If there is one thing Charlie knows how to do, it's run and cry." (Sam) [referencing how she uses her walk cycle the least out of the characters, since she runs everywhereπ]
Episode two
- "Angel, just try for 2 seconds, and Charlie would be all over you." (Skye) [about the redemption exercises]
- "Picks up girlfriend, puts down, love them." (Skye)
Episode three
- Charlie made the "Happy first week Sir Pentious" sign
- "What's fun about Vaggi is that she is the "straight man" of the show, it's kinda her job to get things done." (Viv)
- "This universe is so zany and crazy, she brings a very calm and like a "this is stupid you guys" energy." (Viv), for example pointing out that Alastor is eating raw deer in that one scene. This also serves well as a clue to point out that she is not from Hell/ she is not a sinner, she just brings a whole different energy to a room
- her being more restrained and authoritative and just "over the bullshit" is a first kind of implication of her being an exorcist angel
- she treats the trust exercise like a drill sergent because that's what she is used to
- Vaggi knows a lot about Hell because she made an effort to learn as much as she could. For example, she knows who Carmilla and Alastor are, she did her research
- "She meets Charlie and goes "Yeah I know Hell shit, I know all this, I am a Hell expert dude, I have been here the whole time". " (All) π
- Charlie is just simply too nice to say "Get the fuck away from me" to the people who approach her in the clubπ
- "Vaggi's just whole existence has been being a protector and being a warrior, so this is a little bit of an insight that she feels like she is expected to do that in the relationship as well." (Viv)

*personal note, Viv actually starts saying "life" first and corrects it to "existence" quickly. An other one for the "exorcists are created" theory*
- Viv says that Chaggie wasn't technically confirmed in the pilot, but it was something she wanted to do and what felt right for the characters as she was developing the show. Their dynamic is very comfortable with eachother
- "I want the challenge for Charlie and Vaggi to be that they are in a commited relationship but they are having actual struggles with the world they are in and their kinda dynamic with eachother and their own traumas." (Viv)
- "[The lighter/softer version of Vaggi in Whatever it takes] is an aspect of the real her that she has to mask." (Viv)
- "She is an angel, she is soft." (Skye) π₯Ή
- "I think it's funny that Vaggi sings about being the armour, but later on you'll see that she is more like the weapon and Charlie is her shield" (Skye, Sam)
Episode four
- they had a problem with Vaggi sitting on her own hair in the intro scene, since it's so long. In the end they were like "don't worry about it, don't think about it's too much" π
- [at the end of the episode] "This is one of Charlie's first lesson on empathy with her guests because she doesn't understand them, and she is in this power position that is so different." (Viv)
Episode five
- "Charlie is just easy to move around" [referring to people just pushing her to places, like Lucifer and Alastor both in that one scene] (All)
- Vaggi looking away when Charlie and Lucifer are talking about Heaven is an other bit of foreshadowing
Episode six
- Emily is a character who existed for a long time and was always meant to be a counterpart to Charlie
- the exorcists are Adam's army and he is the one naming all of them
- the origin of Vaggi's name is simply that back in the day Viv thought it would be funny if her name was pronounced a certain way but read in a certain other way that was clearly "vagina" π
- in the alleyway scene, Charlie and Vaggi are in their pilot outfits. For Vaggi, it's the outfit she wears under her armour
- the trashcan was intentionally included in the scene, as a way to imply that Vaggi hid her wings and clothes, so Charlie doesn't notice them
*can I just say, the implication that Vaggi had to throw her own recently severed limbs in the trash is literally insane??? Give her a break pleaseπ*
- "[Charlie] is a homeschooled nepo baby" (Sam)
- [right before Adam reveals her identity] "I was like Vaggi come on, you know she [Charlie] would love you no matter what." (Skye) π₯Ή
Episode seven
- "In this scene [after Alastor and Charlie make the deal] we got some drama between our girls. (Viv)
Nooo, but they are in loveπ₯Ή." (Sam, then repeated by Viv as well)
- "Charlie needs somebody to be giving her advice that is soft and gentle, and Vaggi needs someone that is badass and can beat the shit out of her" (Viv and Skye)
- they made sure that in the animation, Carmilla will only hit Vaggi with her knees/back of her foot, not with her angelic steel heels
- "Carmilla is this kinda of "no nonsense" person which matches Vaggi's vibe, since she was an exorcist and warrior, so she appreciates that type of "tough love" kind of advice more, while Charlie is very gentle and needs some coddling and Rosie is that character with a lot of nice advice that is really warm." (Viv)
- "I love that we don't have to have all the drama of always fighting, like Charlie and Vaggi do fight, then it's resolved naturally and nicely, nothing is left out there." (Skye)
- "I just feel like these two characters, they love each other, they are together, they are pre-established, obviously it's a massive secret, but, you know, like Rosie said what have her actions said, do you really think that she is lying about all of this, and the answer is no." (Viv)
- Cannibal Town is the place where Charlie's special skill of doing broadwayish numbers is finally paying off
- "Charlie, calm down, what do you meanππ?" [After the "the wings are new... they look nice" scene]
Episode eight
- "We had our top gay artist on this [More Than Anything Reprise]." (Skye) π
- "Everyone loves Charlie and Vaggi, it was a fight, who would get the Chaggie shots, the kiss specifically, it was like a war. Everyone would type "just so you know, I do love Charlie/Vaggi" and I had to be like "Guys only one [person] can have the kiss". " (Skye)
- the Vagatha scene with Pentious was a nod to Vaggi's old "full name" that Viv confirmed impulsively in a stream a while back, but later backtracked on
- Viv was very specific about the Lute vs. Vaggi fight, she wanted it to be the most brutal and realistic, to really get the feeling that they are trying to kill eachother
- [after Vaggi's wings reveal during the fight] "I like the subtleness that she just hasn't had them for so long and she has been hiding them so much that we get it as a reveal like wait a minute, I can reclaim this part of me that was taken away from me." (Viv)
- [about Adam's dead] "Vaggi is so excited, she is just like finally, fuck this guy" (Sam, Skye)

it really hasn't gone unnoticed that during the S1 era, everyone was trashing on vaggi's codependency and lack of character development so there's nothing to care about or at worst she's even hurting the rest of the cast (plus any criticism regarding stereotypes), but once charlie made controversial decisions in S2 suddenly everyone thinks vaggi is criminally underrated and amazing for putting up with everything she's been through while carrying the hotel on her back and deserves so much better than charlie ????? surely i can't be the only one who witnessed this strange switch-up...
