Scientist. Witch.

Like, me and my sister went to a museum, and they had an extra exhibit of butterflies. But it cost £3. So we sighed, walked past, then stopped. We each had £3. We could see the butterflies. And we did it was great. We followed it up with an ice-cream as well because Mum and Dad weren’t there to say no.

I was driving back from a work trip with 2 other people in their early 20s, and we drove past a MacDonalds. One of the others went “Aww man, I’d love a McFlurry.” And the guy driving pulled in to the drive through. It was wild. But it was great.

I went to a park over the weekend and I was thinking “Man, I’d love to hire one of those bikes and cycle round the park.” It took me a few minutes to go “Wait, I can hire one of those bikes!”

As y'all know, I want to get pregnant. I have worked some great manifesting magic this year, and my goal is to have a confirmed, healthy pregnancy by the end of 2018!

So I thinks to myself: why not start ACTING like I have a baby? maybe it will attract in a baby?

So I’m doing it. I chose a stuffed animal host for play-babying. I bought a baby blanket today (one of my favorite things about baby gear is muslin blankets… so freaking soft!).

For good measure, I burned a bay leaf for the second time this year with fertility intentions. I’ve also given a few offerings to Freyja.

In addition to the things I mentioned above, I'd also:

- Been off birth control for years.

- Taken a prenatal vitamin and supplemental folic acid every day for months.

- Lost weight (I was obese and I lost 20% of my body weight-- slowly throughout the year-- which is supposed to help with fertility; I also did manifesting magic for weight loss at Imbolc).

- Planned with my partners.

- Eaten dairy daily and pineapple a few times around conception (the pineapple thing may be a myth but I did it anyway).

my personal correspondences by weekday, complied form my grimoire. i’ve interpreted the below poem “children” as anything that will be produced by your efforts. 

Monday - “Monday’s child is fair of face” - glamours, beauty and confidence spells. weather work. healing spells. 

Tuesday - “Tuesday’s child is full of grace” - communication and love spells, friendship spells. any delicate magic. plant and herb-based magic

Wednesday - “Wednesday’s child is full of woe” - cursing, hexes, bindings and banishments. space and cosmic witchcraft.

Thursday - “Thursday’s child has far to go” - spells for travel and protection, astral travel and psychic protections. sea witchcraft, hedgecraft

Friday - “Friday’s child is loving and giving” - any spell planned for someone else, love/lust spells. banishing barriers, friendship spells. kitchen witchcraft.

Saturday - “Saturday’s child works hard for its living” - job and money spells, sucess and motivation spells. creativity and truth.

As a woman I was taught that my desires and opinions are trivial, but men's are important to consider.

As a victim of emotional relationship abuse, I was taught that my desires and even my needs were not only trivial, but positively embarrassing and Too Much To Ask.

Going through graduate school definitely indoctrinated those things-- it teaches you to devalue yourself and your health, and to above all value the criticisms of others. My experience in academia was harsh and unforgiving. I am programmed to go for jobs I don't want that don't pay well because it's prestigious and what I'm supposed to do. It's been really difficult for me to try to figure out what I really want to do.

You know what has helped? Not "listen to your heart," but "listen to your bitching."
