على سيّدِنا محمد ﷺ

Be thankful for the work you’re doing, for the sacrifices Allah made easy for you, and hope for the greatest rewards for them, but don’t ever think you’re doing enough,

you’re sacrificing a “potential possible better” by thinking you’re good where you are.

For a flower to bloom,

Does not a seed go into the ground first?

So you can see the penmanship of God;

Source's signature,

That in order

For something to emerge as its fullest expression,

Its initial presentation,

Is to be no greater than a small and frail cluster of cells,

Going blindly into the dark; the unknowable,

Before it springs forth to flourish and bloom in the light.

So all cellular entities

Are intrinsically composed of their own unique, expansive completeness

As they yield to the slow progression of manifestational forces over time.

The character arc of human growth,

Authored by the same principal source

Can be no different.

بَلَغَنَا وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ، أَنَّ أَكْثَرَ مَا يَجِدُ الْمُؤْمِنُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فِي كِتَابِهِ مِنَ الْحَسَنَاتِ، الْهَمُّ وَالْحُزْنُ

“We have been informed, and Allah knows best, that the greatest amount of good deeds a believer will find in his record on the Day of Resurrection will be the worries and sadness (that he endured).”

If the heart loves Allāh alone and is sincerely devoted to Him, it will not even think of loving anyone else in the first place, let alone falling in love. When a heart falls in love, that is due to the lack of love for Allāh alone.

مَن أرادَ الراحةَ, فليُخرِجِ الخَلقَ من قلبِهِ، حتى يستريح.

“Whoever desires peace and ease, let him remove the creation from his heart, and he will find rest.”

‎A man came to ‘Umar [ibn al-Khattab] and said: 'I have an elderly mother who has reached such an old age that she cannot relieve herself except that my back serves as her mount. I perform her ablutions (Wudu) for her while turning my face away [out of modesty]. Have I fulfilled her right over me?'

‎‘Umar replied: 'No.'

‎The man said: 'Have I not carried her on my back and devoted my very self to her?'

‎‘Umar said: 'Indeed, but she used to do the same for you while she prayed for your life to continue, whereas you do this for her while you wait for her to depart [death].'

‎عن زرعة بن إبراهيم، أن رجلا أتى عمر، فقال: «إن لي أما بلغ بها الكبر، أنها لا تقضي حاجتها إلا وظهري لها مطية، أوضئها، وأصرف وجهي عنها، فهل أديت حقها؟ قال: لا.

‎قال: أليس قد حملتها على ظهري، وحبست عليها نفسي؟ قال: إنها كانت تصنع ذلك بك وهي تتمنى بقاءك، وأنت تصنع ذلك وأنت تتمنى فراقها
