A story that was originally on relationship advice reddit has been floating around Tumblr about a guy who is an anime fan with a girlfriend who is super into fantasy. She won't have anything to do with his anime interests but he goes to ren fairs and watches LOTR with her even though fantasy isn't his thing. In the post he mentions that she has started larping as an elf alot, and saying that it is her true self. The final straw was when she was in her elfsona while on a zoom call with his cousin who is on chemo and told the cousin that she would ask that the moon godess heal her with magic. He told his girlfriend after that that maybe she should consider time and place and appropriateness when she LARPs, and maybe even limit it to once a month and not on any more family calls. Girlfriend flips, accuses him of trying to control her and stifle who she really is, and says he should never be embarrassedof his girlfriend. So next time they go hang out with her friends he puts on his Naruto cosplay and starts acting like Naruto. Girlfriend gets pissed at him for embarrassing her but he tells her if she gets to express who she really is, then so does he, and who he really is in Naruto. Girlfriend is still mad at him, he is trying to find a way to salvage the relationship.
