EVERYBODY stop whatever the fuck you're doing.. and watch this masterpiece
HOLY SHIT THIS IS INSANE
I AM WATCHING THE SHIT OUT OF THIS
Give. Me. This. NOW.
A lot of people have said, āWhy donāt you make a demand of the president that heāll sit down and talk with you if go to the White House?ā But Iām not going to be naĆÆve and think that Iām going to sit down with Trump and heās going to change his mind. There are children locked up at the border who are dying, and thatās not fazing him. So why would I faze him?
Megan Rapinoe by Mamadi Doumbouya for TheĀ New York Times (2019)
Feel like wildly uninformed men are trying to get into your uterus? TheĀ āMythcrashersā are here to sort fact from fiction
Dr. Willie Parker is awesome and this gif set is well-timed on my dash.
Can we please have more of this? Letās make sure the loudest voices on abortion are those in healthcare, and the women who have, or need them.

nearly 3k notes on this and nobody inserted those Jane Lynch gifs?

this is the exact opposite of the male gaze and iām OBSESSED with it
The Lesbian Gazeā¢

Endgame Observations
From the scene where Tony dies that heartbreaking scene
The way Peter claws at Tonyās chest is so desperate, itās like a child grabbing at his parentās shirt, trying to comfort himself
Itās like trying to hold onto something he knows is floating away from him
When I first watched it, it feels like Pepper is just pushing him off to the side
But the way she grabs him is actually very gentle, and she immediately ushers him right into Rhodeyās arms, and his hand clasps over Peterās shoulder
Because she knows someone needs to hold onto this kid thatās falling apart
But she also knows that, as long as Peter is right here in front of him, begging him to hold on, that Tony is going to keep fighting, even though they both know itās a losing battle
I know people read the āweāre going to be okayā line to refer mostly to Pepper and Morgan, but theĀ āyou can rest nowā line calls directly back to that scene at the cabin
The scene where Tony thinks about scrapping the whole thing and not risking the life he has now, and Pepper asks,Ā ābut would you be able to rest?ā
Would you be able to rest, knowing that people out there are still picking up the pieces, even five years later?
Would you be able to rest, knowing that Peter Parker is out there somewhere, knowing that his family misses him, knowing that, at some point in time, his family grew to include you?
And the answer, we find out in the next scene with that photo, is no
So when she tells him,Ā āyou can rest, nowā, sheās also saying,Ā āIāve got them. Both of them. Iāll protect your family.ā
Itās fitting that Rhodey is the first one to get to Tony, because heās always been the first one to get to Tony, has been there the longest, from the start
And then Peter comes in the middle, because he ushers in this new era in Tonyās life, is a reminder of how much Tony has grown during this eleven-year journey
And Pepper is last, because sheās the endgame
Itās her, itās always her
Sheās the only one that can tell him to let go, because he knows sheāll be there to pick up the pieces, just like she always has
He said, once, that he couldnāt sleep until he put a suit of armor around the world
But Pepper is right there, his rock, strong as always, vowing to be the suit of armor around his world
Theyāll be okay, sheāll make sure of it
And when he drifts off, heāll dream of her
Me: No one is hiring me
Adults: youāre just not trying hard enough
Me: oh yea, sorry about that. Let me apply āharderā this time. Iāll be sure to write my contact info extra āhardā this time. Iāll make sure to touch up my resume and make it hella āhardā this time around too.
preach
Adults: Ā You just need to hit the pavement, knock on some doors, call the hiring manager!
Every job application ever: Ā PLEASE NO UNSOLICITED VISITS OR PHONE CALLS.
Fact: Our reception pool forwards the names of people who call unsolicited on to HR, who puts the names on a DO NOT HIRE, CANNOT FOLLOW DIRECTIONS list.
This is what is the most terrifying about re-beginning the job search.
Fact: My brother was a store manager at AT&T for several years, and handled the hiring process. People that would call and call about the job wouldnāt get hired because, āThey seemed to be the kind of people that would constantly need attention on the job, or wouldnāt make a good fit in customer service, because they donāt have the patience to wait for us to call them back.ā
Meanwhile Iāve always been taught to do exactly those things because it āshows that you care and take initiativeā
Hereās how I got my new job:
Made a profile on Indeed.
Crammed that fucker with every damn skill and job I have ever had. That time I ran roller-coasters for a month? On there. āProperty Managingā my motherās rental for six months because she was too lazy to drive over? On there. ALSO. If you are skilled in, say, Photoshop, donāt JUST put Photoshop as a skill. Also put Adobe Suite, Adobe Photoshop, etc. Put every possible term for your skill under the skills. Google skill lists and start slapping them in there if you have even a tiny bit of skill in them.
Downloaded the Indeed app on my phone.
Set up a saved search to show me all full-time jobs paying $15 or more per hour in my area, and set it to only show jobs with instant apply. I did not narrow it down by field or anything else. Just full-time, my area, $15/hr.
Wrote up a three sentenceish generic cover letter that was basically āI am good at customer service, client management, and handling the variety of tasks this job will involve. I will be available on X date and would love to speak to you about this position at your company.ā But slightly more professionally put.
Just fucking clicked apply on everything. Anything that sounded like something Iād be willing and probably able to do. Like, I wasnāt applying to mechanic jobs or anything. But front-desk at a mechanic shop? Sure. Towing dispatcher? Sure. Print shop coordinator for some fancy real estate agency? Sure.
The beauty of Indeedās mobile/quick apply is that once youāve set up your profile on there clicking apply is literally all you have to do for about 75% of the quick apply jobs. Some will have a couple additional questions like how long youāve done certain things, or when youāre available to start. Some have random fun questions like your favorite superhero (usually startups). You click that button and off your resume goes.
I spent about an hour every day doing this, submitted several hundred applications in the process, and heard back fromā¦maybe 20. Got an interview at 4 or 5. Got hired at an insurance company that pays RIDICULOUSLY WELL. Took about a month.
Do I want to sell in insurance? Not particularly. But this job will support me, my art, my ability to buy a house, and PROVIDE RESIDUAL INCOME ONCE I RETIRE. Which. If I play my cards right I could do in as little as ten years.
Your mileage may vary with this technique, but given the way job hunting is set up now carpet bombing an application site like Indeed is always worth a shot. I will note that when I came across a job I thought sounded extra interesting and more in line with the fields I wanted to be in Iād save the application instead of applying, then take the time that night to put together a better full application.
Good luck. Job hunting is terrible.
I hate job hunting, and my time is coming this fall.

For a lot of people Steve's journey in the Cap movies, even in AOU, has been about accepting the past and moving on in the present. It was so powerful to me when Peggy said in TWS that the world has changed and none of us can go back. It meant that actually, you CAN move on from loss and start afresh. Now that has been completely undone by the last minutes of Endgame. Don't even get me started on the movie's fatphobia though.
Anonymous said:
wait so thatās actually what happened??? Steve didnāt change anything and lived his whole life with racism, homophobia, 911, JFK being assassinated, Tonyās parents being killed, HYDRA infiltrating Shield and torturing Bucky? And he couldnāt/didnāt do anything? fuck thatās depressing. how is that a happy ending for him???
Anonymous said:Bucky may have known about Steveās decision but on board with it? I mean Christ he looked depressed when they hugged Ā
Anonymous said: iām trying so hard to like Steveās ending and see it as in character but ⦠i mean the whole point of AOU is that he realises that heās home, that heās not the man who went into the ice 75 years ago. now suddenly he is and canāt just pick back up where he left off? The whole point of TWS and CW is saying farewell to the past and forging new connections. Now he just gives them up?Ā
Anonymous said: Iām sorry but besties and soulmates in all the ways that count??? If I had a best friend who chose to travel 70 years into the past/another universe to live out his ENTIRE LIFE without me I would not consider them my best friend, let alone my soulmate. When Steve shows up at the end he hasnāt seen Bucky in over 70 years. So much for being with him until the end of the line. And I donāt even support Stucky as a ship.
Anonymous said:Reunited with his friends at the end??? How ready are you to not see your friends for 80 years??? Heāll be dead soon anyway. The movie killed Stucky and SteveSam about as dead as a ship can be killed.
Okay, Iām answering all of these at once, because Iām only going to say this once - consider this post my definitive reply to every ask like this. :)
(NOTE, and I canāt believe I actually have to say this, but all opinions expressed below are my own and just that - MY opinions. You donāt have to agree with them.)
1) Since everyone right now is so into cherry-picking Peggyās speech to Steve in TWS, and Steveās speech to Tony in AOU, letās start there:
Peggy LITERALLY SAYS sometimes the best we can do is START OVER. So, what does Steve do at the end of Endgame? He STARTS OVER!!!
And his response to Tony is because he canāt have what he really wants with Peggy - for the war to be over, to go HOME
Look, I have nothing but respect for all of the people who looked at Peggyās speech in TWS and Steveās speech in AOU and used it as a blueprint to move on from their trauma or grief. Ā I get it, I truly do.
But those speeches donāt mean you just get over that loss and start afresh, it means this is my new normal now, it means, I know you grieve, but you have to make do with what youāve got.
But as someone who has lost someone intensely important in a very unexpected manner, I can tell you right now, that I would give the moon, the stars, the heavens, and everything else, for five more minutes with that person. And if you offered me a way to do it where it wouldnāt hurt anyone else? Iād take it in a heartbeat, and itās been almost 8 years since that person died. Ā And that doesnāt mean I havenāt done my best to move on, it doesnāt mean I donāt love the person I am right now and the strides Iāve made and the friends Iāve made and the relationships I have now. And I am willing to be you Iām not the only person whoās lost someone who would leap at that chance, either.Ā
So yes, Steveās decision was perfectly in character, as his grief over his lost chance with Peggy literally permeated every inch of his character in every film he was in - he got a chance to make things right with Bucky, to save him. Ā He never got that chance with Peggy.
2) Weāre gonna have to disagree about Bucky looking depressed, because to me he looked happy for Steve. Ā Itās clear he knew and approved - just look at the smile on his face when he sees Steve sitting on the bench
3) I am not explaining Alternate Timelines again, but just because Steve canāt stop Every Tragedy Ever from happening in the main timeline doesnāt mean he canāt or wonāt work to make his alternate timeline as awesome of a place as possible. Steve wouldnāt be Steve if he didnāt have a cause (and thatās more than half the reason Peggy fell in love with him), so yes, heād be thrilled to kick ass and make that timeline a better place. Ā All he told Sam was āhe had a LIFEā, not he retired and hid out and did nothing for 80 years.
4) If youāre the type of friend who would begrudge your BFF finally getting the chance of a life they missed - even if it means leaving you - then youāre not much of a friend, and probably need to re-evaluate your priorities.
Ā "To the end of the line" means, I love you, I support you, Iām WITH you and support you in whatever choice you make that makes you happy - not āyou donāt get to leave me ever and if you do, youāre not a friendā. Ā Especially considering Bucky essentially āleavesā Steve first to stay in Wakanda with his farm and his goats. And Steve was nothing except supportive of this, because THAT is what friends do, THAT is what to the end of the line means. Allowing your friends the dignity of their choices, and supporting them
At the end of Endgame, Buckyās back, heās healthy, heās in such a better place mentally, and heās got people (including STEVE) around himā¦
which brings me to
5) Iām sorry, but suggesting that because Steve is old now means heāll be dead soon and canāt offer Sam and Bucky his love and support and friendship is some of the most ageist bullshit I have ever heard in my life. Ā Steve has the super-soldier serum still running through his veins, so Iām betting heās still got a VERY long life ahead of him bossing Sam and Bucky (and everyone else) around like the sassy troll heās always been.
Why are you so fabulous?
I think I get it from my old man ;)Ā
GUYS.Ā
CLEARLY, I TOOK INSPIRATION FROM CHILDHOOD TRAUMA.Ā
