i just want to talk about kintsugi because i fucking love it and fob is stirring THAT pot. kintsugi is the japanese concept of restoring broken ceramic or pottery by applying a thin layer of glue and spreading gold powder over it to repair it. the message of kintsugi is strongly laid in the idea that broken things can sometimes be repaired into even more beautiful items. That sometimes the flaws we have don't need to be hidden away, and can add value to our character instead. Not all cracks are ugly, not all cracks are unfixable. kintsugi KID, i think, is really about how people grow up and gain cracks and the kintsugi kid is making the broken cracks of themselves into features, not blemishes.

I just had a Vision of what if this is what physical education classes taught, instead of, like, nothing. what if they taught you how to debug your body, had a big set of very good stretches and simple little exercises that they drilled into you til it became second nature. how many people would have bodies that hurt them less
