Omg this is going to sound a little unhinged but... my boss told me I had 5 days of PTO to take before the end of the year and Ive decided to take a weekend trip to Boston for my birthday because Evocation has fully overtaken my mind. I need some recommendations on what to do!! I do plan on going to the New England Aquarium bc Ive wanted to go for years, the museum of fine arts to think about Max, the Boston public library to think about that one David and Moira scene, and of course wander around Beacon Hill. But can you recommend some must-sees that one wouldn't know about unless they've been there? Maybe some witchy stores, book stores, etc?

That is AMAZING, just the right amount of unhinged. I hope you had so much fun! I opened my inbox to a couple of people traveling to Boston for Evocation vibes and I think I’ve missed most of the trips.

Head to Jamaica Plain, though! It’s a fun part of the city, and that’s where Rhys and Moira live. The Botanica San Miguel in JP is the inspiration for Lorena’s Shop, and there are fun vintage stores and ice cream parlors down there where you can get your Moira on. There was not a place in Cambridge called Sofra when I first started writing that place where the Society boys get brunch, but now there is and it’s supposed to be really tasty, so check that out and report back to me!

It is excessive and David (and I) vibe with that and love that. A labradorite anklet is so inspired.

Yes there are! I go into this more in depth in ODD SPIRITS, the illustrated hardcover prequel to EVOCATION, where David and Moira feud about crystals. There’s a standard foiled edition and a signed Waterstones special emo black and red foiled edition.

Moira uses a lot of rose quartz and amethyst in her practice (and if you pay attention David pockets a little piece of rose quartz from Moira in EVOCATION! Her influence). I often think of Rhys with black protective warding crystals, like black tourmaline, but he’s an emotional Cancer moon man, so moonstone reminds me of him as well.
