I can’t stop thinking about this: post-lightning, everyone was checking on Buck, asking how he was, and Eddie let him be, knowing Buck would come to him when he was ready. And now post-held hostage, Eddie isn’t waiting, he’s pushing, he’s backing off when it doesn’t work but shows up and makes plans to show up again, and no one but Eddie is doing that. No one but Eddie even notices that something is wrong. Because Buck always, eventually, finds him. Buck always finds Eddie, even when it’s just to get Eddie to talk. And now Buck isn’t talking, but he’s also not seeking Eddie out, because he’s hiding. So now, just like New Mexico, Eddie has to find him. And Buck thinks Eddie is expecting the same man, the same Buck, just like after the lightning, but the thing is, it is just like the lightning: Eddie sees him, really sees him and that something is different, it’s just usually Buck doesn’t keep it from Eddie. And isn’t that the underlying fear Buck carries, the reason he can’t admit to being in love with Eddie: that no one will want him for him, for who he becomes. He comes out to Eddie and Eddie promises things wouldn’t change. And now Buck’s changed again, and maybe he’s worried it’s just one change too many for Eddie to take

eddie probably doesn't even mind pineapple on pizza, he just likes doing their little routine where he says really buck. fruit on pizza? and buck says uh oh chris you hear that? your dad doesn't like OUR favorite pizza and chris says wow dad you suffer so much and buck says aw poor eddie should we get your favorite this time? and eddie says no...it's fine...whatever....get your cursed pizza.... and he and buck maintain prolonged eye contact as eddie tries not to smile and they get the pizza and buck throws pineapple at eddie while they're eating and eddie whines about it but he loves every second
