beast will always mean SO much to me because of everything it tells us about atsushi and akutagawa. all the parallels between them. they were both victims of circumstance—akutagawa ended up on the side of “good” in beast and atsushi didn’t and at their core they were both just teenagers trying to find a way to survive with the hand that was dealt to them

bsd villains are like “we gotta stop JRR Tolkien and Dr. Seuss before they blow up the entire city with remote activated petrol bombs they’ve rigged onto children in the sewers and we need to decipher the code from the Rosetta Stone hidden in the mafia control room.”

i think one of my favourite parts about bsd is the ada’s interactions with the port mafia. like, the pm are technically the antagonists, the ‘evil organisation’, and yet we see countless times the ada just kinda chilling with them. one of my favourite examples of this was in the wan when chuuya and atsushi just casually go to the same movie and, though atsushis apprehensive at first, once he learns chuuya doesn’t want to #murder him, they just kinda chill together. just the fact that they don’t have that cat/mouse type conflict of ‘if i see 🚜 , you’re dead!’, and even when they do they hardly follow through with it - ITS SO FUN !! even akutagawa and atsushi who fucking hâte each other, are willing to not only work with each other but have genuine conversation and, at times, banter idk i think it creates such a fun dynamic between them and brings out the humanity of the pm more to the point that, at times, they don’t even seem that antagonistic, in conclusion they slayed ITS SO FAHKDHSJSEH
