𝙀𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙚.. in blue lock was aware Gagamaru wasn't a social person, his only friends were the people on the team. Well, everyone ASSUMED they were his only friends. During a practice, a girl with short black straightish hair up to her shoulders was sitting on the bleachers watching practice.
Rather, she was watching Gagamaru. Naturally, the team noticed and during a break Chigiri decided to ask him about it. "Hey, Gagamaru? Who's the girl over there?" He asked, nodding his head over to the girl's direction, who was now on her phone. Gagamaru looked up from the ground and glanced at her, "Oh, that's Lorelai, she's my friend."
The team froze a bit, Gagamaru had other friends?! "Oh? Well uh.. How'd that happen?" Isagi aaked as he took a sip of water. Gagamaru hummed and thought for a minute, "We've know eachother since we were kids, she was in the mountains and was playing with a couple animals. We became quick friends after," Gagamaru said simply.
The team blinked as they turned their heads to Lorelai and then back to Gagamaru. "What?" He questioned their weird looks. "Gagamaru.. She was only watching you," Chigiri said slowly as Gagamaru blinked and nodded. "Yeah, so? We're friends and she doesn't know anyone other than me," He said as if it was a simple answer. Chigiri had to stop himself from face palming. "True.. But did you not see the look in her eyes?" Isagi asked, trying to see if he could get Gagamaru to get the hint.
See, Gagamaru didn't catch onto people's feelings, he can acknowledge that it is a weakness of his. However, the team did not thing it would be this bad. "What look?" He asked as he glanced at Lorelai. “This one,” Kunigami said as he faked a love sick expression to which a couple people laughed.
“I didn't see that on her face?” Gagamaru said, confusion mixing into his nonchalant tone. “Of course you didn't..” Chigiri sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. “Oh! I got it! Gagamaru! How do you feel around animals?” Bachira stepped in, eagerly sitting on his knees in front of Gagamaru.
“Calm, relaxed, they're nice,” He said simply. “Okay! Okay! And how do you feel about Lorelai?” Bachira asked, grinning a huge grin as Isagi caught on to what he was saying. “Uh.. The same way?” Gagamaru said, yet it sounded more like a question than a statement. “Okay, now how do you feel about us?” Bachira asked with a huge grin.
“Uhm… I guess I feel more energetic than usual and a bit more annoyed,” Gagamaru said honestly as some people on the team winced in fake hurt. “So..” Bachira urged on Gagamaru with a grin and nod. “So?” Gagamaru asked with a frown, he didn't get what Bachira was getting at.
“Don’t you find it funny how animals, which you love, and Lorelai make you feel? Different in comparison to how you feel about us, so what does that mean?” Bachira asked as he leaned in. “That.. I like her?” Gagamaru said as Bachira cheered. “Yes! Exactly! And she definitely feels the same! So talk to her!” Bachira said as he helped Gagamaru get up.
“How?” Gagamaru asked, this was his first time talking about these kinds of things. “Uh.. Talk to her? Tell her how you feel?” Chigiri said as he tried to push Gagamaru towards the bleachers but the tall man stayed in place. “Hm.. Okay,” He said as he started walking which made Chigiri fall since he was leaning on him to push.
“Rude..” Chigiri grumbled as he brushed himself off and watched Gagamaru go. When he reached her, he stood in front of her. Lorelai looked up and smiled. “Hey Gin! Are you still on a break?” She asked as she glanced behind him to see the team watching them intentionally.
“It has been made clear that I have feelings for you,” Gagamaru said bluntly, Chigiri face palmed behind him. Lorelai blinked rapidly and laughed nervously. ”Really? Well.. I mean how did you get there?” She asked, hiding in front of him to hide from the team.
“Well, you make me feel the same way I feel with animals. And it's different from how those guys make me feel,” He explained as he looked at her, noticing the body language he moved to hide the team’s view. “Well.. That's um.. Give me a sec!” Lorelai said as she slapped her cheeks slightly before puffing up.
“I like you too, Gin!” She said with a grin, Gagamaru blinked and nodded. His face may have been a bit blank but his heart was racing at 100 miles an hour. “So.. Does that make you my girlfriend?” He asked with a tilt of his head. “Well, you didn't properly ask me,” Lorelai said teasingly yet Gagamaru didn't clock it.
He blinked and quickly went back to the team to talk to Chigiri who had to take a deep breath and direct him through the words and motions. He came back after a few minutes and took a small deep breath. “Would you like to be my girlfriend?” He asked as he reached for her hand and held it.
Lorelai held his hand and smiled before chuckling. “Of course I would,” She said with a smile. For someone as stoic as Gagamaru, his eyes softened and got big, like an animal seeing their favorite person. Instead of going for a kiss like most people would, he dropped himself on her and started to give her all his affection.
His words were hard to say, so he settled for being clingy. Lorelai laughed and wrapped her arms around him and smiled into his shoulder. The team watched and cheered quietly. Chigiri had to take a breath of relief that it worked out.
Nothing much changed between the couple. Gagamaru was just a bit more clingy and was getting better at speaking affectionately. Lorelai visited practice more, it got to the point she started to make friends with everyone on the team. She was able to get to know them, so the team was able to figure out how the relationship worked.
Gagamaru has never been happier and it showed very clearly. He was more soft, a bit less blunt with words, his whole demeanor felt lighter. The two balanced each other out, and they couldn't be happier.
