     winnie scoffed jokingly,  “i’m glad that my label as student-athlete didn’t deter people from thinking that i actually AM start;  shows that i didn’t suffer through medical school program for nothing.”  she felt a pang of guilt.  “i’ll trust you –– i feel like this can’t really go THAT wrong.” 

     “you know, DROP OUT seems like a strong word –– it was of my own volition !  i’m EXPANDING my horizons,  isn’t that what your twenties are ALL about ?”  she defended herself,  but she could feel a slight blush rising to her face.  she had a passion for learning and most times she couldn’t hide it.  “i WOULD go back to school,  but i grinded for the previous twenty-one years of my life,  so the real question is –– should i REALLY go back ?”

     “okay, so i’ve found my weekend task, i guess !”  winnie jokingly pinched him.  “i’ll break out the rainbow loom just for this –– those things are SO easy to make bracelets with.”  she watched as his efforts only show to be fruitless,  “i like to keep it spicy,  though if you disable my phone AGAIN i might just have to murder you.  based on pure, unadulterated mathematics,  it’s almost IMPOSSIBLE for you to get the combo right,”  she raised an eyebrow.  “don’t you think they deserve to foster their innocence for a little longer ?”

     “you know i think the definition of a VALIANT death is changing by the year –– i wonder what this year’s trend will be ?”  she shook her head at the thought,   “you would THINK that the way technology is advancing in our society,  we would be getting smarter.  seems to be the opposite though.”   she scoffed with an affectionate pat on his shoulder,  “you say this as if this is the ONLY silly accident you’ve had in all the year i’ve known you !”

     winnie would be lying if she said that partying WASN’T important to her at some point in her life.  fresh out of college she wanted something NEW for a while, but found that a couple months of that sort of lifestyle really took it out of her.  “i guess my priorities have CHANGED slightly,”  she found herself reverting back to her old self ( something she sort of ... despised, yet it was so comfortable ).  “you’re the one that should be telling me !” she looked at bea with innocent eyes.

     winnie’s eyes widened in MOCK hurt,  “yikes, all these years of friendship and i get tossed to the curb like this ?  time to find better friends i guess –– you know –– i don’t think our WAITER would treat me this way.”  she let out a slight gasp,  “yes !  of course it is !  what if... there are children listening ?”

     “i think we’re ALL out of luck when it comes to forgetting that, actually.  i can’t believe that american society has regressed so much and that people would choose to do THAT with their leisure time,”  winnie could’ve continued to go off, but took a breather.  “okay, you’re RIGHT.  i should stop underestimating you because we both know that nothing productive comes from it.  though, i should just warn you now that with every passing day my ‘standards’ bar is dropping.”

     “i’m definitely more of a BOOK SMART type of person rather than street smart.  this seems to be a question for a street smart person,”  she brought a hand up to her temple in slight embarrassment.  “i agree that we’re hanging out but this isn’t QUITE what i envisioned we would be talking about.”

     winnie blushed slightly at the comment,  “what can i say ?  reality is harsh.  i mean it was for the better –– now it would be impossible for something like that to happen again.”  she grinned at the THOUGHT of accomplishment,  “well, if you think so then it seems like my job is done !”  she wiped her hands together and dusted off the obligation of having to man the table ( symbolically getting rid of it, of course ).  “ooh, i’m excited !”  their friendship was truly warmth.  it was a sort of camaraderie that winnie never grew up with.

     winnie widened her eyes at the admittance of the jest,  “can you really blame me for believing you though ?  people these days are STUPID –– don’t you remember the tide pod challenge ?”  she pursed her lips, “the internet has really made people do silly things.”
