     tamsin  knows  breaking.  but  not  like  this.

     he  comes  into  her  life  like  colors  she  has  never  seen  and  she  welcomes  him  even  when  they  all  tell  her  she  is  a  fool  to  leave  her  door  open  for  him.  she  knows  that  even  if  she  didn’t,  he’d  find  a  window  to  climb  through,  and  he  always  wins  his  battles.  especially  those  with  her.

     was  i  a  fool  ?

     «  what  the  fuck  are  you  talking  about  ?  »

     this  is  where  she  feels  anger,  usually,  but  with  him  there  is  only  defeat.  this  is  a  game  of  pushing  and  pulling  and  tamsin  wonders  what  will  stick  in  the  end  —  to  be  honest,  she’s  not  sure  any  of  them  has  the  courage  to  stick  around  long  enough  to  find  out.  she  never  could  hold  anything  of  importance.

     tell  me  i  was  not  a  fool.  don’t  make  a  fool  out  of  me.

     «  you  think  that’s  what  i  want  ?  »

      hidden  in  her  cadence  there  is  desperation  she  finds  embarrassing.  she  will  not  speak  of  it.  she  cannot.  she  cannot  bear  for  him  to  know  that  dependence.

     no  one  saw  me  until  you.  i  know  we  pretend  to  enjoy  this  game  we  have  perfected,  but  none  of  us  know  the  rules  anymore  and  i  think  we’re  getting  beat  by  it.  love  is  a  language  we  are  trying  to  learn  together,  but  you  will  never  let  me  all  the  way  in  and  i  am  just  the  same.  do  i  have  a  place  in  your  heart  ?  tell  me  you  care  for  me.  tell  me  you  really  care.

     she  will  not  cry,  and  she  doesn’t,  but  this  may  not  be  the  time  for  bravery.  tami  will  push  him  away  the  only  way  she  knows  how  to,  and  she  does  not  know  how  to  stop  this  from  breaking.  «  don’t  you  understand  anything  ?  have  you  not  paid  attention  at  all  ?  »

     i  don’t  know  how  to  fit  all  this  affection  inside  of  me,  but  i  know  i  want  to.  god,  adore  me  harder,  and  i  will  return  the  favor.  i  cannot  love  you  whole,  and  for  that  i  am  sorry.  but  let  me  color  within  your  lines.  let  me  try  to  make  this  beautiful  even  if  it  may  crumble  in  the  process.  you  have  to  let  me  try.
