Aria and Alistair, especially as played by @ruinofostagar, are a retread of Loghain and Maric respectively. To the point that Aria has also, at the start of their adventure, tried to escape the narrative to serve her own means only to return after having considered things. The motif of a capable and common born archer helping a more buoyant and free-wheeling Theirin to the throne in a time of turmoil repeats neatly in several decades time. The fact Aria is also the more morally grey of the two where Alistair has what is perceived as a much more cleanly cut sense of morals is another clear parallel, though their schism comes not in the form of a woman desired, but ideals at odds. In addition, while Alistair clearly has the genetic resemblance to his father, Aria shares dark hair and cold grey eyes with her predecessor. To say nothing of Aria’s unforgiving and ‘do unto others before they can unto you’ nature weighed against Alistair trying to keep peace and a more open mind.

“Come, Alistair. Have a drink with me, see if you can explain what drove me from the castle. Almost twenty years I’ve been packing and moving, and your Arl’s servants tell me not to ‘trouble myself.’ What a world you people live in.”

Perched comfortably atop a tavern chair, the elf absently traced the rim of her mug. She dared not cast him a look, worried, perhaps, that her plan might come to nothing if he dared deviate from her script. If others had followed him, or if he was sent to fetch her so the party might make for the capitol, then this was all for nothing. There might never be another opportunity to speak without unseen ears and eyes haunting their every exchange.

(If he looked closely, he might notice the near emptiness of the tavern. Coin could buy many a wondrous thing, privacy chief among them.)
