when I say that you donât have to match my length in a post, I mean like⌠If I write 4 paragraphs, Iâm not expecting you to write 4 paragraphs? yâknow. iâm cool if you write 1 or 2 or 8.
but⌠when i write 4 paragraphs & get a one/two line reply? thatâs⌠stretching it a bit, donât you think?
I really wish I could be one of those people whoâs like fine, with everything?? but I guess Iâm just not. & i was feeling bad about it for a long time but my logic got to me. & let me kindaâ explain.Â
in a post, generally, I have my character do three things:Â
SAY SOMETHING. or multiple things. or⌠shout, sob, etc.Â
DO ACTIONS. to progress the plot.Â
THINK & FEEL. to help me & you understand why theyâre doing what theyâre doing.Â
generally, a good way to roleplay with someone and to progress the plot, and deepen the connection to the characters, is to respond to what your partner does in a post. so donât pick, at random, one line of dialogue and respond to that and nothing else? donât ignore everything theyâve just said, and respond only to the action.Â
as well as RESPONDING you then add something of your own, to progress the plot. so you could⌠ask a question, prep an attack, try to coax them into doing something, explain something⌠yâknow. give them in turn something to RESPOND too.Â
whether you have your character inner monologue or not is up to you. it helps to connect but itâs not always needed. but it helps others understand them.Â
so, while all this can be done in a little paragraph, it canât be done in one or two lines.Â
itâs about RESPECT for your partner, too. like, the effort they have put in. i donât care what people say. itâs rude af to expect one party to carry a thread.Â
so my I DONâT CARE HOW MUCH YOU REPLY WITH has a limit, dudes. itâs not anything personal. itâs just I need to be able to continue the thread.Â
