1. “Will you groom my wings for me?” 

2. “You have lovely wings.” 

3. “Don’t try to move. I think your wing is broken.” 

4. “Do you want to go flying with me?” 

5. “I’ve never seen wings like yours before. Is the coloring natural?” 

6. “Don’t touch my wings.” 

7. “I can out-fly you any day.” 

8. “Don’t you ruffle your feathers at me.” 

9. “What happened to your wings?” 

10. “My wings are so boring. I’m thinking about dying my feathers.” 

11. “Are your wings okay? They look awful.”

12. “Whoa. Your wings are huge. How did you fit through the door?” 

13. “Oh my gosh. Your wings are so small. They’re adorable.” 

14. “I broke my wing. Guess I won’t be flying for a while.” 

15. “Ugh. I hate molting. My wings always itch like crazy.” 

16. “My flight feathers are finally coming in. _____’s going to be giving me my first flying lesson soon. I’m so excited!” 

17. “Here. I use this when I’m molting. It’ll make your wings feel better.” 

18. “My first flying lesson is tomorrow. I’m so nervous.”

19. “It’s about time my winter feathers grew in. Now I can go outside without trapping my wings under my coat.” 

when I say that you don’t have to match my length in a post, I mean like… If I write 4 paragraphs, I’m not expecting you to write 4 paragraphs? y’know. i’m cool if you write 1 or 2 or 8.

but… when i write 4 paragraphs & get a one/two line reply? that’s… stretching it a bit, don’t you think?

I really wish I could be one of those people who’s like fine, with everything?? but I guess I’m just not. & i was feeling bad about it for a long time but my logic got to me. & let me kinda’ explain. 

in a post, generally, I have my character do three things: 

SAY SOMETHING. or multiple things. or… shout, sob, etc.  DO ACTIONS. to progress the plot.  THINK & FEEL. to help me & you understand why they’re doing what they’re doing. 

generally, a good way to roleplay with someone and to progress the plot, and deepen the connection to the characters, is to respond to what your partner does in a post. so don’t pick, at random, one line of dialogue and respond to that and nothing else? don’t ignore everything they’ve just said, and respond only to the action. 

as well as RESPONDING you then add something of your own, to progress the plot. so you could… ask a question, prep an attack, try to coax them into doing something, explain something… y’know. give them in turn something to RESPOND too. 

whether you have your character inner monologue or not is up to you. it helps to connect but it’s not always needed. but it helps others understand them. 

so, while all this can be done in a little paragraph, it can’t be done in one or two lines. 

it’s about RESPECT for your partner, too. like, the effort they have put in. i don’t care what people say. it’s rude af to expect one party to carry a thread. 

The focus of his affection broke him out of his thoughts when she stepped in to help him with his tie. “It’s just my tie.” He protested, giving her a grin that was half embarrassment over his inability to tie his own tie, and half lovesick affection for her. “I figured I could finish tying it on the bus.”
