Stranger Things x FNAF: The Missing Children's Incident Pt. 1
(Pt. 2 will hopefully come tomorrow and if not it will be soon, as well as Pt. 3 of the Will Never Found Post Rain Fight AU :) )
TW: Graphic Descriptions of Death and Dead bodies, as well as blood and gore. Readers Discretion is advised.
Also, I refer to our killer as Afton/Creel, so you can picture him as either William Afton or Henry Creel, as I couldn't decide which would fit better.
Will Byers goes missing after a party at the Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. At the end of the party when everyone is leaving, Will is the last of his friends to leave. He asks the owner where the bathroom is, and when he's taken to the back, he is instead killed in the storage room, stabbed through the heart from behind, and shoved into the unused Golden Freddy suit.
Afton/Creel had been itching to kill again ever since he killed Jane/Eleven Hopper, but he'd reasoned with himself for years that he only killed her to get rid of Hopper. The chief had been sniffing around his old diner too much for his liking, and he figured killing his only daughter would be enough to shake him up and get him off his case.
When Will is the only kid in sight, he can't help himself. It was too easy, like the universe was tossing him a bone. He'd stuffed him in Golden Freddy since the suit was never used, and the only one who ever messed with it was him. He takes Will's bike home with him so people are more likely to think he left the pizzeria that night.
Will is reported missing the next day, his family and friends distraught, particularly Jim Hopper. He'd not known Will super well, but he'd been getting somewhat close to Joyce over the prior months, beginning to feel like himself for the first time since he lost his daughter a few years prior. When Will goes missing, he throws himself into the case, his coworkers noting this is the most on it heās been with a case since before his daughter died. He refuses to lose another kid, and he refuses to watch a woman he was truly beginning to care about go through what he did.
Afton/Creel is pissed when he begins seeing the Police Chief sniffing around his establishment again. He thought he'd gotten rid of him, and he had not anticipated what he thought was a quick and easy kill to bring the annoying Chief back.
No one knows Will is actually dead at this point, nor is his disappearance directly tied to Freddy's. Just like Afton/Creel hoped, people assumed something happened to him on his way home from the pizzeria, not at the establishment. That doesn't stop the place from being of interest in the case, nor Hopper from asking questions and performing interviews, but the place itself isn't investigated.
Will's friends are distraught at his disappearance, particularly Mike and Lucas. The four (Mike, Lucas, Dustin, and Max) spend every waking moment of every day riding through town looking for him and putting up missing posters and doing everything they can to find him. Their parents give them strict curfews after Will's disappearance and they are all forced to be home before sundown, but they milk as much of the daylight as they can looking for Will. Some days (when not working) Steve will drive them around so they can cover more ground.
Steve babysat Dustin mostly, but he'd babysat all the kids at one point or another, and aside from Dustin, Will was the kid he babysat the most since Jonathan had to have a job to help Joyce support Will. He's already fairly familiar with their older siblings because of this (and due to having dated Nancy briefly), but post Will's disappearance they all get a bit closer as this situation affects all of them and their siblings. Even Billy starts discreetly making sure Max is home every night and may or may not snoop around Fazbear's one night after Will's disappearance just to make sure he's not dead in a dumpster or something. Unlike the others, he's fairly convinced Will is dead, but he at least has enough sense to keep that to himself.
Mike knows Will was one of the last people left at the party, and he refuses to go a day without going to Freddy's and doing what he can to snoop around. After Mike reveals this to the rest of the group, Lucas goes with Mike every single day. This causes some slight tension with Dustin and Max, who say they're wasting time by going and looking around the same place every day, even if only for an hour or so, when they could be covering more of the town during that time looking for Will. But Mike and Lucas are insistent that something could've happened at Freddy's and they can't not check.
Afton/Creel gets incredibly annoyed by this, as Mike and Lucas (especially Mike) are constantly pushing him and wanting to look in employee only areas and investigate the whole place despite the restaurant not being under investigation. Him absolutely refusing to let them properly investigate only convinces Mike more that something happened and he's hiding something, and Lucas is easily convinced by Mike's reasoning.
What Lucas is not convinced to do is sneak into the place after close when it's announced the restaurant will be closed the next day for maintenance. Mike's convinced this is their chance to properly investigate and that they can't pass it up, while Lucas argues it's dangerous and that they have curfews. Mike's furious and accuses Lucas of not caring enough about Will and says he's breaking into the place that night with or without Lucas's help.
Mike does exactly what he says he's going to do, sneaking out of his house that night and breaking into Fazbear's when the last employee leaves for the night.
(Look man idk how Mike at like, 12 would realistically break into a building that would likely be locked so let's suspend our disbelief here and believe he's able to luckily get in after an employee leaves lol)
He's a bit scared of being in the dark place after hours, but he's so bound and determined to find something, anything related to Will, that he's able to push through it pretty easily.
He scavenges through every nook and cranny of the place he can, security office, bathrooms, broom closets, until he comes across one of the storage rooms. When he opens the door, he's completely taken aback by the awful smell that escapes with the open door. It absolutely reeks, an odor so potent Mike can't even describe it. He's never smelt something so bad.
With his nose plugged to prevent from throwing up, Mike pushes forward into the room, surrounded by spare parts for the animatronics. But what really catches Mike's eye is the Freddy costume slumped in the corner. It seemed wrong. None of the other characters had an extra costume that he'd seen, nor one that was an entirely different color. He'd never seen this version of Freddy before.
With his nose still plugged (seriously, what is that smell?) Mike steps forward and with great effort, pulls the head off the slumped costume.
His best friend's dead, lifeless eyes are what greet him.
Mike jumps back so violently you'd think he'd been shot, but not a sound comes out of him. His eyes are wide, and he's completely frozen. He was no longer plugging his nose, but the putrid smell might as well have been nonexistent to Mike.
Will's skin was going a greenish color after being dead for roughly a week. Swollen was the only way Mike could describe how he looked, a small trickle of blood flowing from his mouth.
Mike stands completely frozen, eyes unable to be torn away from his best friend's rotting corpse, for minutes on end before he's finally able to utter a breathy whisper. āW-Will?ā
Before any sense of panic could set in, any sobbing, screaming, any action at all, Michael Wheeler is bludgeoned to death, skull caved in from behind by Afton/Creel.
He'd been at the building to prepare the animatronics for the maintenance they'd be going through the next day, finding himself completely unsurprised when he discovered the child running around his restaurant. Mike Wheeler was nothing but an annoyance who'd been getting on his nerves everyday when he came snooping around. The kid was a nuisance, and Afton/Creel knew he'd have to be dealt with soon. With how often the kid hung around Freddy's like a leech, he knew it wouldn't be long before an opportunity like this presented itself. The kid was too stubborn to give up on his friend, so Afton/Creel would give him the reunion he so desperately wanted.
It only took one blow to take the small boy out, and Afton/Creel was quick to stuff the boy's body inside Freddy before his bleeding head made too much of a mess. Freddy was the most active and required the most frequent upkeep. It wouldn't look suspicious if Afton/Creel needed to tinker with it for one reason or another.
Meanwhile, Will, who'd seen the whole thing as a ghost, was rushing over to a freshly ghost Mike. Heād had a week to process everything that had happened to him. That he was dead, that he was a ghost, that no one actually knew what happened to him or who was responsible, that he was trapped in this pizzeria and heād never see his friends or family again.
Or he thought, until he watched his best friend be murdered in front of him and his ghost materialize shortly after while their killer was disposing of his body. He felt immense guilt for the tiny part of him that felt relief about what just happened. He wasn't alone anymore. His best friend was here now. He didn't have to lose him.
The rest of him was focused on comforting his friend. He remembers how panicked he felt when he'd first crossed over. It had been terrifying and disorienting. He had no idea what was going on and he was so cold. He wasn't feeling the pain of being stabbed anymore, but it was the last thing he remembered feeling. It was an awful experience. If he could make that experience any easier for his best friend, he would.
It didn't take long for the rest of the party to realize Mike was missing. They'd been meeting up early every morning to scour the town for any signs of Will, and Mike was always the first one there. Lucas already felt uneasy when he made it to their meeting spot that morning and Mike wasn't there. It was Dustin who finally said it out loud once all three of them were there, that it was weird Mike wasn't there yet. Max reluctantly agreed, pointing out how Mike would be pissed at them any day they were even a second late.
Lucas felt the knot growing in his stomach the longer they waited for Mike to show up, and felt that knot morph into horrible anxiety when they finally called it and began biking to Mike's house to check on him. It wasnāt helped by the clear unease beginning to form in both Max and Dustin. Neither would vocalize it, but Lucas could feel it. They biked to Mikeās house in complete silence, a clear unsettling tension bleeding through the group like static electricity.
All three of them felt their hearts drop to their stomachs when Karen Wheeler answers the door, looking frantic, and confirming she hasnāt seen Mike since last night.
Lucas freezes. Because he knows. He knows damn well Mike went to Freddyās the night before. He knows Will was at Freddyās the night before he vanished. He knows what happened. And he knows Freddyās is involved. Mike was right. And Lucas didnāt believe him. He wasnāt there for him. Heād failed.
He had to see for himself. He had to go to Freddyās. But he couldnāt. They couldnāt. Freddyās was closed today. It was the whole reason Mike wanted to go the night prior. Because people wouldnāt be there.
The group spent the entire day looking for both Will and Mike, and by the end of the day, Mike was officially declared missing. Lucas didnāt tell anyone about what he suspected, or about the fact he was certain Mike was at Freddyās the night before. Mostly because he didnāt want to be right. He spent the whole day hoping Mike would just⦠show up. Show up with some stupid Mike-like excuse about where he was and what he was doing, probably something Will related, and Lucas could just yell at him about never scaring him like that again.
But it didnāt happen. Mike never showed up, and Lucas knew what he had to do. He had to go to Freddyās. Theyād reopen the next day after their maintenance, meaning tonight was his chance to get answers. He shouldāve just went with Mike the night before. Maybe he couldāve done something. If bare minimum gotten some answers. Theyād have had a better chance with the both of them.
Lucas was scared shitless when he snuck out of his house that night. Biking to Freddyās in the middle of the night was an eerie experience. Heād never been out this last before. When he got there, something immediately caught his attention. Or rather, the lack of something. He couldnāt find Mikeās bike anywhere. He knew the bike should have been there. No way Mike wouldāve walked all the way to Freddyās, and it hadnāt been at his house when theyād all gone looking for them that morning.
With that in mind, Lucas tucked his own bike away behind some of the shrubbery in the back alley before going into Freddyās.
(Again, letās suspend our disbelief and say that like Mike, Lucas got in after one of the last employees for the night left.)
Lucas first makes his way towards the main area of the restaurant, trying to stop his arm holding the flashlight from shaking. The place was dark, and definitely terrifying at night. He much preferred being there during the day playing games with his friends. He flashes his light towards pirateās cove, jumping and gasping loudly when he spots Foxy behind the slightly opened curtain. The animatronic was terrifying when inactive, rows of sharp teeth and no light behind his eyes.
He breezily moved on, shining his light towards the main stage. Bonnie and Chica were in their rightful places, with the main attraction nowhere to be found. Lucas pulled himself up to the main stage, speedwalking past Bonnie and Chica to get to the curtain that led backstage.
It was even darker in the back, and he had to hold back a scream when he nearly ran right into Freddy. He took a moment to catch his breath, stepping back and shining his flashlight on the animatronic in question. Freddy looked⦠off, somehow. Granted, Lucas was aware that Freddy was one of the animatronics that underwent the most maintenance, and that he was likely messed with a lot today, but still. His head didnāt look right, and his jaw almost looked like it was hanging open. He looked⦠oddly stiff.
Just when he was reaching his hand out to confirm his suspicions, he heard a wooden sounding creak from behind him. He jumped, whipping around just in time to dodge and narrowly avoid a stab wound. His arm still got a nasty cut, but that was better than the alternative.
Lucasās fight or flight kicked in almost immediately, diving to get by his attacker and through the curtain, jumping off the stage just as fast. Unfortunately for him, he was in a dark and unfamiliar environment, and his attacker was much bigger than him. He was caught almost immediately after jumping off the stage, getting grabbed by the shoulders and slammed to the ground, his attacker pinning him down with his body weight.
However, he wasnāt going down without a fight, refusing to stay still, kicking and squirming, doing everything to throw his attacker off of him. He got stabbed in the shoulder for his efforts, Afton/Creel unable to hit anything vital thanks to all of Lucasās movement.
Lucasās screams of agony go unheard by anything living as heās stabbed multiple more times before Afton/Creel finally manages to stab his jugular, watching as Lucasās movements slow and he slowly dies from the blood loss. Afton/Creel is furious at the mess left behind, screaming and cursing the dead child for being a nuisance the whole time heās cleaning everything up. Eventually, when itās just Lucasās body left, he glances up at the main stage. They were right below Bonnie. Afton/Creel didnāt have time to think any further than that. He needed to dispose of the kidās body and fast. He still needed to finish Freddyās maintenance and get him back on stage and ready to perform the next day. So into Bonnie Lucas went.Ā
Will and Mike saw the whole thing. It took a few days of ghosting for Will to be able to leave the storage room he was confined to, but by now he had free reign of most of the restaurant. Which was particularly helpful given that Mike could barely move a few steps from Freddy.
Mike crouched down, facing away from the gruesome scene as sobs racked his small ghostly form, hands over his ears. He was unable to face what was happening to his friend. He still wasnāt really himself. After barely a day of being a ghost, his spirit was still settling into the change, and Mike was incredibly discombobulated. His emotions and memories were all over the place. Will was trying to help him as best he could, but the only real remedy was time. His spirit needed time to adjust to the abrupt change.
Will, on the other hand, watched the whole thing unfold, feeling utterly useless. He couldnāt do anything, could only scream and cry and beg for Afton/Creel to stop, for Lucas to get away, for Hopper to bust down the door and arrest him, for something to happen. But it didnāt. Will had to watch with tears streaming down his face, hearing Lucasās screams of agony and Mikeās heartbreaking sobs behind him. Had to watch as yet another of his friends joined him in the afterlife all because they were looking for him.
This was getting LONG, so unfortunately we'll have to wait to see the inevitable fates of Dustin and Max. And yes, Jane is the Marionette in this universe. I don't see much Stranger Things x FNAF here on Tumblr, mostly on Tiktok, so idk how well this will do, but I'm posting it anyways. I love this AU and I've been writing this version of the missing children's incident for a long time.
Will Never Found Post Rain Fight AU Pt. 3 will be coming soon!
