I firmly believe that Ilya and Shane reveal their timeline to the Centaurs entirely by accident. Someone makes a comment in the locker room about how fucking horned up they are for each other. It's difficult not to notice the daily addition of new bruises and scratches and hickeys on both of their bodies and it's a well known fact that whoever ends up rooming next to them on the road will require industrial grade noise cancelling headphones. They've been living together for several years now and it doesn't seem to be slowing down at all. It's bordering on an intervention, the guys saying things like "honestly, it's worrying," and "how can two people have that much sex??"

Shane's actually the one to accidentally reveal the timeline, when he says "I mean, if you average it out by the seven years where we only saw each other a few times a year and the four years we were long-distance, we're probably still behind most couples."

The locker room falls silent for a few seconds before the whole team entirely loses their shit. "ELEVEN YEARS," "what the fuck, no, what the fuck," "since rookie season???" and the cat's out of the bag so Shane corrects them, "summer before." Meanwhile Ilya's just grinning maniacally in the corner, so pleased that Shane was the one to spill the beans because they were both sure Ilya would be the one to do it.

i know i was gunning hard for a defenseman being the jets' first pick but... the longer i sit with it the more excited i am for viggo björck. truly couldn't be happier about this pick. idk what it is about that guy but i'm just so fucking excited for him. i really hope he gets playtime this season because AHHH. i really feel like he can do some awesome, awesome stuff. i'm so excited for preseason. viggo honestly feels like a fucking steal too, like i expected him to go sixth or higher but i'm so glad he was still available for eight. like we got so lucky with that.

imagining shane hanging out with his parents and while he's away from his phone doing something with his dad a call comes in. yuna sees this and goes, "shane, someone's calling you!"

and shane says, "who is it?"

"lily!"

"oh." shane immediately sets aside what he's doing and walks over, saying to his mom, "that's ilya."

yuna looks at him in confusion as he picks up his phone. "why is ilya saved as 'lily' in your phone?"

and shane looks at her, away, shrugs as if it's obvious and simply says, "I can't have ilya rozanov saved on my phone, mom" before answering the call with a, "hey, baby" and walking away.

leaving yuna (and david) standing shocked and, once again, shaken at how little they knew about their son and the layers of concealment he's had to operate under for years just to love who he loves.
