my ACTUAL thoughts on the MOTU movie
went to watch motu movie again and i need more omgg.
it just makes me so happy, every detail, from the smallest to the biggest, puts a huuugee smile on my face. like huge. like
OOOH I CHEERED IN THOSE BATTLES i really did.
everytime a new character showed up on the screen i was like rraaahhh u got it
yesterday i was thinking that this movie is basically a huge reinterpretation of the story, (also basing my opinion on some people's criticisms), because as strange as it is that prince adam's secret isn't a secret anymore, i think the story is fine as it is. after all, considering the absence of some characters, the secret thing couldn't have been maintained.
this film ALSO tries to be a COMPLETE introduction to the basic story of he-man, this movie is about the BIRTH of he-man, starting REALLY from the beginning (changing some things, of course).
and DON'T say there has never been a twist to the basic plot of he-man, because we have millions of series and media that prove the exact opposite lmao.
in the end, guys, don't you think it would have been pretty goofy to bring an EXACT episode of filmation he-man to the big screen? (and , tbh, they already kinda did lol)
this new interpretation at least leaves room for new content for the franchise, like a sequel (even though I feel like this film is flopping, or at least they say soπ...)
another thing that really really gets me..
it's adam's transposition on earth. the fact that he's teased for who he is and considered weird. i mean, that whole scene where he locks himself in his room to look at the illustrations and drawings is VERY striking, as I've been a fan for most of my life.
it reminded me of when I, too, as a child, would lock myself in my room and look at the illustrations, old comics, toys, but above all, my big diorama of eternia, dreaming of being able to really get as close as possible to that world.
and I mean, being quite young, many of my peers didn't understand. so yes, that scene REALLY played on the nostalgia effect π
AGAIN go watch masters of the universe pls.
also do it for she-ra fans. they need to see their precious adora. WE need to see their precious adora AND to FINALLY see a good crossover between the twins , right?
