(*If you’d like more guidance on what “meta” can entail, we have a quick guide!) (**We will be recording podfics of all of the textual content in the projects in order to make the final product more accessible!)

If you would like to apply for more than one contributor role, please fill out a separate application for each role. Each application (regardless of role) will require links to 3 samples of representative work, and a link to a portfolio of additional pieces for assessment. We will also need links to your social media accounts.

It’s already Roy/Ed week in some time zones, so feel free to get started whenever you want!

A few quick notes about posting your amazing work:

Amazing work does not necessarily have to be finished work.  Sketches are okay!  The first chapter of something you haven’t tied up yet is okay!  If you feel ready to share it, go right ahead.

Please tag @royedweek2019​ with the “person”-style tag!  Tumblr’s hashtags are not especially trustworthy…

Corollary to above: I’m going to try to share stuff in batches at a couple times during the day, so hold tight if your work doesn’t show up right away.  If it gets to be about a day, though, and you haven’t seen it, please send a message with a link.  The person-style tags aren’t always trustworthy either!

If you have content that is NSFW or with content that could be triggery or difficult for some people, please put it under a “cut”/read more, or hide it with an external link so that people can browse freely, and please make sure to list all applicable warnings!

Regarding prompts: you are welcome to use anywhere between none and all of the prompts for any given day.  Whatever floats your ship!

Corollary to above: if it isn’t immediately evident which day you’re posting for, please indicate that in your post so that we can tag it when we share!

Hello again for another late post for @royedweek , day 5- Cold/Warmth.

I have one thing to say though before we get started on this: To anyone who’s read the note that I’ve been putting at the beginning of my previous RoyEd fics, I am truly sorry if I offended any of you with it. It was never my intention to make it sound as though I condemned anyone who shipped this wonderful ship and didn’t mind the age gap. I was only trying to explain why I wasn’t placing them with their canon ages. And if any of you feel as though I was implying that anyone who didn’t change their ages was “gross” or anything like that, I am so very sorry. I didn’t realize that it could be inferred that way until someone pointed it out to me.

Because of that, I will no longer add that note to my fics.

To those of you that still wish to read what I’ve written, I do hope you enjoy it because this is a wonderful ship and couple that truly doesn’t get enough love.

     Edward Elric did not like Central City for plenty of reasons. The air was never fresh and always smelled like something was rotting in the back corners of dark alleys. The concrete and metal surrounding every square inch of the place absorbed and reflected the heat that was poured out every day by the sun. The capital region of Amestris was also home to the wonderful memories that involved fighting Father, the homunculi, and, not to mention, the Promised Day and all the additional crap that held.

     The current reason for Ed’s contempt for it was the damn weather they were having. It was summer, which was bad enough with the blazing sun and stale breezes, but a storm was hovering over them, trapping and stifling the air, and letting the humidity coat every corner of the city. It was unbearable and left everyone in a crappy mood. Adding to the fact that Ed’s automail ports were aching from the change in air pressure as well as the charge of sparking electricity in the air, only made the situation a living hell.

     And it didn’t help matters that his only reason for staying in this crap-tastic place was currently trying to smother him.

Roy made a promise not to chain Edward to himself. To never even attempt to do so, not asking for letters or phone calls or giving him the key of his house’s front door. A promise to no one in particular, made within his four bedroom walls to soothe his quivering heart.

Ed Elric showed up at his door three years after the Promised Day. Taller, tanner, stunning and no longer jail-bait, full of wicked smiles and a mature boldness that left him breathless. Two glasses of wine and a complete review of Creta’s alchemy later, Roy found himself cornered against his own kitchen counter, lips being claimed by the fiery blond. Bodies pressed flush, tongues sliding and teeth biting, hard and fast and dominating and Ed. And they almost did not make it to the bedroom.

Edward was not his most attractive affair. Roy Mustang had a fair number of women and a few men that could beat Ed in that aspect. But there was something about the fierce gold eyes and the silent gasps that captivated Roy’s heart. Something to do with the mind, and not the body. The flexing of his muscles, his hair shining under the bedside lamp yellowish light, the way his lips parted and Roy slipped between them in a whisper.

Edward was, by far, his most beautiful lover.

The next morning Ed left with no goodbye, but his presence stuck in Roy’s house, mind and heart. The Flame Alchemist was haunted by the ghost of a touch that maybe shouldn’t have happened, couldn’t have happened. And in between his nightmares with fire and deserts, he dreamed with shades of gold.
