A collection of beautiful Black women having a picnic - a total cottagecore vibe. Be inclusive.
FOUND THE PHOTOGRAPHER: Lynnea Fortes❤️
the two women third pic down are grace_africa, and subanbrn on instagram!
*like any post, if you find the models, please shoot me a message and i’ll add it - this was found on facebook and was lovely and wanted to share*
**Also, there’s nothing wrong with identifying someone as Black - it is a beautiful thing, they should be recognized as such (you cannot be anti racist without acknowledging someone’s race)**
IS ANYONE ELSE FEELING THE HOPE OF SPRING
when georges bataille wrote, “no greater desire exists than a wounded person’s need for another wound” & when gillian flynn wrote, “a child weaned on poison considers harm a comfort” & when ocean vuong wrote, “sometimes being offered tenderness feels like the very proof that you’ve been ruined” & when lisa m. basile wrote, “did you inherit a sickness? did you blame god? do you believe in god? do you believe in yourself? are you still on fire? did you ever put out the fire?” & when stephen a. guirgis wrote, “why didn't you make me good enough so that you could’ve loved me?”

Witch Tip
When you inevitably spill wax onto your clothing and/or carpet, simply take some newspaper or a paper towel and place it over the spill. Take an iron and gently press and rub the paper. The wax will melt and lift onto the paper and out of your clothing/carpet. Repeat with clean sections of the paper until wax no longer comes up.*
*This is likely not news to seasoned adults everywhere, but if you’re like me (ie. a mess) it could be useful.

me: ah, I’m just being paranoid…………………. (squints) or is it my intuition
What to Ask Tarot
I find that broad, open ended questions work best when consulting a tarot reader, or when you want more than just yes or no. (If you’re reading for yourself and you’re only looking for a simple yes/no answer, then you do you!) As a tarot reader, I find it easier to guide my clients when they ask open ended questions. For example…
Don’t ask “Is he/she/they interested in me?” Ask:
“How should I express my interest?”
“What can I do to attract people that would be romantically interested in me?”
“What is holding me back from finding someone?”
“What do I need to change to find The One?”
Don’t ask “Will I get the job/promotion/award?” Ask:
“How can I make myself stand out as deserving of the promotion?”
“What qualities should I work on to make myself a better job applicant?”
“Where can I improve?”
Don’t ask “Is life going to get better?” (Yes!) Ask:
“What do I need to change to make my life better?”
“Why am I unable to move forward?”
“How can I move past what’s holding me back?”
Don’t ask “Should I leave my partner?” Ask:
“How can I find the problem in my relationship?”
“What do I need to do to overcome this problem?”
“What issue am I refusing to face?”
“How do I achieve a healthy relationship?”
Don’t ask “Will I do well in school?” Ask:
“How can I achieve my goals?”
“What pitfalls might I run into?”
Don’t ask “Should I choose A or B?” Ask:
“What are the risks of each option?”
“What are the benefits of each option?”
“Are there unexpected side effects I should look out for?”
“How do I be confident in my decision?”
Don’t ask “Are my partner and I compatible?” Ask:
“What can I do to work through our differences?”
“Where am I willing to sacrifice and where am I not?”
“What, if any, tension can I expect due to our differences?”
These questions can be tweaked to fit your specific situation! When I’m asked yes/no questions, I try and answer them. But I also elaborate using the alternative questions to provide a more helpful answer so clients can ultimately make their own decisions.
If you don’t know the best questions to ask, you can always just describe your problem and let your tarot reader handle the rest. If you’re reading for yourself, explore different aspects of your problem and see if you can turn it into a what/how/why question.

🔥 Witch Tip 🔥
Spilled candle wax on your shirt, bedspread, or any fabric? Here’s to get it out:
🔥Scrape off excess wax
🔥Take two paper towels, and sandwich them; with the fabric in between the two paper towels
🔥Take an iron, and with a low setting, swipe it back and forth until wax comes up
🔥Keep replacing paper towels until they come up dry
🔥Wash like regular, and use stain remover to get the candle dye out

Heal Your Heart Potion
A tea spell for getting past emotional pain/exhaustion and bringing in comfort and self love -💌
Collect: a mug, vanilla black tea (or black tea and vanilla extract), cinnamon, milk (or milk substitute), honey, rose quartz and/or amethyst
Take your mug and put in your tea bag with a sprinkle of cinnamon (and vanilla extract if you’re using that)
Fill up the mug with milk and heat it to your desired temperature
Take a heaping spoonful of honey and stir it in, clockwise to bring comforting/empowering energy and counterclockwise to banish negativity and emotional pain
Charge your tea with the rose quartz and/or amethyst
Sit down with your tea
Put your hands around the mug and feel the warmth and comfort
As you’re drinking the tea slowly, imagine it healing you from the inside out; targeting your emotions, your mind and your heart, and then radiating that energy to the outside

💜beginner tarot tips💜
Get a bag for your tarot cards!! It doesn’t have to be anything fancy. You can use dice bags as they are generally a lot cheaper but it’s important so that your cards don’t get damaged or lost
If something doesn’t feel right, redo the reading. Always go with your intuition but remember that you shouldn’t start again just because you didn’t like the result
Every morning, ask your deck how it’s feeling. This will help to build a relationship between you and your deck
When buying your first tarot deck, make sure it comes with an information booklet. These are very helpful for knowing the meaning of the cards, a few simple spreads and how to start off your journey
Oracle cards are NOT the same as tarot cards. Make sure to get the right thing!
Don’t let anyone else use your tarot cards. If anyone else uses them it hinders your relationship with your deck and they probably won’t work as well
Make sure to cleanse your deck. You can do this by placing a crystal with your intent on the deck and leaving it there overnight or using moonlight to cleanse them
Keep your deck away from water. I know this seems obvious but you would be surprised at how may people flick rose water to cleanse them without thinking!
Make sure to shuffle your cards before AND after readings. This helps to purify them and ready them for their next use
It’s up to you how to read reversed cards. When you pull a card that is upside down some people read it as having the opposite effect while others simply turn it back around and read it as normal. It’s up to you
Don’t spend too much money on your first deck. While it is nice to be reading pretty cards, keep your first deck simple as more expensive decks usually have more intricate designs and are harder to read
You don’t always have to use spreads. You can simple ask the question and pull as many cards as you feel you should
Pay attention to jumping cards. Jumping cards are when you are shuffling or pulling a card and another one jumps out of the deck. This cards may be relevant to the reading but might not necessarily be pulled
Don’t worry if you get a ‘scary’ card. Tarot cards aren’t always referring to the big things in life and sometimes that ‘disaster’ you read about is just a spilled coffee!
Have fun! It’s important to experiment with your deck and find out the reading style that suits you!
Visualisation
Visualisation is incredibly useful in witchcraft as it is the base of energy work. From this, you can do all kinds of practices.
You can use visualisation for meditation, astral travel, sending energy into objects and many other things. These will all be covered in the future.
So, how do I start?
Here’s a basic exercise for you to practice. It’s very simple and many of you will probably be able to pick it up easily if you’ve already done visualition techniques!
1. You’ll need a very quiet area where you’ll be comfortable. Even lying in bed and putting white noise in your headphones is useful. Get rid of all distractions, put your phone on silent etc.
2. Close your eyes and empty your mind. Your mind might feel like a blank sheet of paper, and you’re going to create something in there.
3. Picture an apple, any old apple. Zoom in and see its shape, it’s colour. Does it have leaves, more than one colour? Look at every tiny detail of the apple you’ve created.
4. Next, take a knife and cut this apple in half. Focus on the detail inside: the colour, how many seeds there are etc. The more detail, the better.
5. Now you use your senses. What the apple feels like, smells like. Bite into it and taste it. You’re using visualisation to not only see the apple but understand everything about it.
From this, you’re able to visualise and interact with objects in your mind. Practice often with anything you like!
