Why is it called American Blind?
It's based on a song. But the title itself doesn't really makes sense in English.
The song is "Persiana Americana" by Soda Stereo, is about a stalker spying someone through window blinds or "American blinds".
Which is what Vincent does at the start of the story.
I just liked the sound of it, it sounds like a mystery novel.
What's that Adam in the last chapter?
Who or what is the detective? Is he like The Crow or something?
He's the pagan god of the moon. As he explained, he looks over people like Alastor and he's considered a trickster god.
He manifest as a pretty man, a wolf or a crow.
He looks a bit like The Crow, yes.
He's also heavily based on a young Atsushi Sakurai.
His companion is, actually, a Dr Flug (Villainous) cameo.
What was the inspiration for the songs you used?
Mostly vibes. I had a general idea of what each chapter was going to be about and attached a song to it. However Persiana Americana and El Duelo were always meant to be the beginning and end of it.
Why is Alastor called "The Crescent Killer"?
New Orleans is sometimes called "The Crescent City" due to its shape.
The moon is a really important part of the lore of this universe.
Why is the town called Moonridge? Why West Virginia?
I wanted more associations with the moon. It's a central part of the themes, aesthetics and motifs.
I found the Appalachians Mountains fascinating and I like the whole forest/mountain aesthetic.
Why did you use elements of magical realism?
I'm from Latin America, LOL. It was unavoidable.
I like the idea of "subtle magic" or the magic of the everyday things and the things of nature that one can accept are justβ¦there.
