Mao Mao Secret Halloween 2020
Greetings, Mao Mao fans!
It's that time of year again! This year has been a very difficult, and strange one. This also includes our holidays being a bit different than normal. But never fear, we are still holding our second annual Mao Mao Secret Halloween event!
In case you don't know what a Secret Halloween is, it's like Secret Santa, but with a spooky theme instead. You will be exchanging gifts to one another anonymously!
Of course, there are still very important rules attached to this. PLEASE read this whole thing before submitting your wishlist in the comments, and feel free to spread word! The more the merrier!
1. This is the most important thing: Do not tell ANYONE who you're making a gift for. Nobody is supposed to know until your submission is complete and posted! If you have any personal issues with who you get, please message me.
2. You need to fill out the wishlist COMPLETELY in order to be registered into the entry list. Please provide details and links to character references, specific poses, etc. Whatever will help the artist/writer understand what you want! Don't be afraid to share your exact wishes!
3. You cannot make changes to your wishlist once the entries close, which will be September 28th. Message me if you need to change something before then.
4. If you are going to enter this event, PLEASE be mindful that you need to have your entry submitted before or on October 31st. If you know you're going to be busy on the day of Halloween, please upload it beforehand. If you're seriously struggling with mental health, or you feel unsure that you'll be able to complete this, please take care of yourself first and do not apply. Dropouts may happen in emergencies, but I'd like to keep that from happening as much as possible.
5. Put in as much effort into your gift as you can! Everyone's style and skill is different, but we can tell what's rushed and what isn't. DO NOT submit traced or stolen artwork. It cannot be drawn over official artwork, either. If you are a writer, please try to write at LEAST 500 words! Nobody wants only a paragraph of their request, it needs to have effort as well.
6. Everybody will be paired at random, but artists and writers will be in their own categories. YOU MUST CHOOSE BETWEEN ARTIST OR WRITER, EVEN IF YOU DO BOTH. That way, an artist will give and receive artwork, while a writer will give and receive a oneshot/short story. I do this because it seems the most fair to participants. If you have any complaints about the gift you receive, please message me privately.
7. PLEASE tag me in your entry so I know you did it! And of course, tag the person you're giving the gift to, so they can see their request and know who they got their gift from!
8. OCs are allowed, as well as pairings ( Canon/Canon or OC/Canon ). But two things to keep in mind: It all must be Halloween related, so please don't try to make it all about romance. Also, if you use an OC, please describe them as much as you can, so the receiver can capture their personality.
9. Have fun and treat everyone with respect! Also, please be aware that I'm only one person with college and other events occurring at the same time. If I make any mistakes, please correct me. If you're still confused about how any of this works, feel free to message me and I'll do my best to answer any of your questions.

I cannot wait for this event to begin! Last year was my first ever Mao Mao event, so I feel more prepared for this year's! I hope y'all are as excited as I am!

Details on your request (must be Halloween related): I was thinking about both young Mao Mao and Badgerclops on their way to get candy at night. MM disguised as a cute vampire and BC as a bad *yet super cute* mummy disguise (u kno, just a buncha thorned toilet paper xd). I know bg’s can be difficult for some ppl so I can give that up to the artist’s choice, a starry night sky n some trees never fails (just if you needed some ideas). Make it as badgermao as possible pls n thank u <3

Anything else that you would like to add?: I’d like to work with an idea as d e f i n e d as possible (defined location, charas expression, clothing, etc) rather than a general idea, I kinda prefer to be told exactly what the person wants instead of me coming up with details that i don’t really know if they’re going to like (it’s less stressing for me, sorry if it’s too much to ask!). I’m totally ok with mild gore n spooky stuff, I prefer that actually (it’s Halloween after all, folks!). I’d prefer to not drawing oc’s if possible, AU’s with canon charas are ok tho! (like cringe-geek mermaid MM AU, for example).
