Summary: While Rogue contemplates leaving the X-Men, Gambit makes a list. Can he persuade her to come to New Orleans with him? He has five good compelling persuasive reasons why she should join him.
Unfortunately (for him), she’s not easy to convince. Will either one of them be brave enough to admit the truth?

“What do you want Swamp Rat?” Rogue shook off his hold. She’d always known he was cocky, she hadn’t taken him as foolhardy. No one got this close to her. No one touched her this casually. Especially with the expanse of bare skin across her shoulders and exposing her collarbone.
He smirked. “Come with me, River Rat.”
“Where?” Rogue crossed her arms and redoubled her glare. No smooth talking, two-bit Romeo was going to get the better of her.
“N’awlins.” The patois deepened as he drawled the name of his home town. Her heartbeat quickened at the honeyed drawl.
“Nuh-uh, sugah. I ain’t crossing state lines with you.” She shouldn’t be in this shady alley with him, let alone another state.
“Not even if I said pretty please.” He brushed a stray lock of hair behind her ear. “With sugar on top.”

“You have the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen."
Remy blinked at Anna-Marie sitting beside him, swallowing down a too-large gulp of iced tea. Surely the summer heat must be getting to him; there wasn't any other explanation for what he'd just heard.
"Excusez-moi?" He looked at her incredulously, searching for that telling quirk of her lip that would prove she was joking.
Her face remained as serious as chiselled marble.
"Don't tell me you're going deaf, Cajun?" She took a sip from her own glass, corners of her eyes crinkling.
"Non, it's just that I'm sure you're the only person alive to think that way." His gaze drifted as echoes of old aches he'd long left behind sprung back into his mind. Even if he'd since forged the infamous Le Diable Blanc into a moniker to shield him rather than a weapon wielded to scar him for life.
"Well, ain't that a good thing you said I was the only one who mattered?"
She lifted his chin, making it impossible for him to break eye-contact. He could do nothing but lean into it.
"I do mean it, Lebeau," she assured him again, with that dreamy expression he thought he'd only get to experience through rom-coms or cheap debut novels from the bargain bin.
But no, this one was his to keep, even if he had no idea what he'd done to deserve it.
"I know," he hummed, and maybe for the first time, let himself believe his own words.
A little early for champagne, non?" Gambit watched as Rogue poured herself a flute with a shaky hand.
"Gotta ease the nerves somehow." She cursed under her breath as the freshly applied lipstick smeared across the rim.
"Didn't take you for a stage-fright kinda gal—what gives?" he asked, already handing over his handkerchief.
"Well, it ain't every day you go from being proclaimed a terrorist on national television to being lauded a savior of mutantkind in a span of few years, so forgive me for having the slightest of jitters."
Gambit spared a glance at the clock ticking on the wall behind them. Fifteen minutes till the start of the banquet, but then again, would it even be a public event if he didn't give Summers a few gray hairs?
His gaze traveled across the floor, stopping at the pair of heels thrown at the side. He smirked.
Without hesitation, he dipped to one knee, picking up the wine red heel with great care, his other hand hovering behind Rogue's calf, brimming with anticipation as he finally made eye contact.
"May I?" he asked with sincerity, trying his best to keep a straight face as the shade of ruby on Rogue's face began to resemble the color of her gown.
A nod.
Gods above, he couldn't ask for anything more.
His hand glided slowly over the thin, nylon tights down to her ankle as he savored every second of proximity, all but holding his breath as he slipped each of the shoes on, deftly fastening the straps into place.
"If you're nervous, what's a scoundrel like me supposed to say?" He laced their fingers together, completely unwilling to move off the floor. "You and I, we could write a book about it. Been down the same roads, but that don't change the fact that we are with the X-men all the same and whoever got a problem with us, best know how to outrun the rest of em." He pressed a kiss to her glove. "Shall we? Or do we wanna keep them on their toes a little longer?"

Remy's shoulders sagged as soon as he turned the key to his apartment. It's not that he had anything against the Guild's ways of dealing with threats, but he'd be lying if he said it wasn't a chore to come home lickin' a new batch of bruises after every quarrel with each new client wanting to try their luck with the Guild's code of conduct. Ain't no place like home, only the moment he walked through the threshold, something felt… off?
There was a divine smell coming from the kitchen as Anna-Marie walked over with that ever-radiant smile that could no doubt start wars among the gods vying for a crumb of the affection that he proudly held in the palm of his hand. Nonetheless, something was amiss.
"Where are the boys?" he asked, finally noting the lack of three rambunctious furballs clamoring for attention.
She laughed. "About that…"
Before Remy knew it, he was being dragged off to the other end of the apartment to see them sprawled out, belly up, purring up a storm around a toy he didn't recognize.
"You got 'em catnip?"
"I thought it wouldn't hurt to spoil them a little is all," she murmured, with the faintest bit of rosiness dusting her cheeks. "They miss you when you're gone," she added, looking away from him, and Remy could tell she left some things unsaid: if he had to wager, as do I.
"Few days without me and you let them indulge," he hummed, resting his cheek in the crook of her neck as he simply took in the comforting presence. "This is the last time I'm leavin' you in charge."
"Oh sugar, you should know better than to use 'last' with us," she answered with a playful grin.
Another Rogue/Gambit Week has come to an end. It is sad to see it end, but we have so many new pieces of fanart and fanfic to enjoy.

Day seven (and final day) of Rogue and Gambit week. Today is a free day and I immediately knew I had to do their vows (X-Men Gold 30). Their wedding will forever be one of the most iconic Romy moments.

Since today is the last day of Rogue Gambit week I just want to say an thanks for all the support and love this week! This marks about a year since I started posting my Romy art regularly and the community has been amazing all around. So thankful for all my Romy friends, you guys mean a lot to me!

Happy Rogue/Gambit Week! I have another Rec List for y'all. Inspired by this week's prompt, "You and I, we could write a book about it.", I’m rec’ing fics featuring Rogue, Gambit, and books. As I compiled this list, I chose fics in which the books (or the reading/writing thereof) played a part in their relationship and not just the mention of books/libraries/bookstores. With that said, I did read a bunch of great fics which were book-related, but just didn’t quite meet my requirements for this list. Also, there are a few fics I remember reading in the past, which I wanted to include on this list, but, alas, I could not find them again (and therefore can’t include them). So, as always, if your favorite fic isn’t on the list, no slight was intended.

Notes: Romy is definitely the secondary couple here, but books and bookstores play a definite role in their relationship. There is so much flirtation through reading romance novels. This fic really ought to have more reads on ao3. Please give it a chance. This fic has it all--action, books, family feels, and romance. It's great and the Romy is endearing. Definitely worth a read.

Notes: This is not the first time I’ve recommended a chapter of Threads for one of these lists, and it probably won’t be the last. Each chapter is an alternate universe, and can be read on its own. Although, with this chapter (Ch. 10) being the last chapter, you will get more out of the chapter if you read the whole fic. It's a good fic and worth the read, even if the rest of the chapters aren't about books or writers. This is one of the few fics where it actually features Rogue as a writer (instead of just a reader). Therefore, proving they really can write a book.

Day 6! I love this prompt so very dearly,,, also noticing that I draw romy touching foreheads SO OFTEN but ☝️ in my defense, it’s like when cats bonk foreheads so it’s very them AND I feel like with Gambit’s headgear they could do it safely with Rogue’s powers sooooo
