Five Ways You Can Participate in Rogue/Gambit Week 2026
With less than three weeks until the start of Rogue/Gambit Week 2026, we hope you’re having a lot of fun creating your Romy Week fanworks. In case you want to participate, but have no idea what to do, here are a few suggestions
1 - Create
However you express your creativity, use that to create something Romy related. Choose your favorite creative verb (write, draw, sing, sew, bake, knit, etc) and do that. There’s no limit on what you can do. Have fun. We can’t wait to see what you create.
2 - Make a list
While it is always appropriate to share a list, this year it even fits the prompts. (“I have a list”). Your list could be on top five kisses, favorite animated moments, must read Romy moments in comics, favorite fanfics, songs with a Romy vibe, etc. You can even mix and match prompts—such as create a list of top honeymoon (or, second honeymoon) locations (when’s the honeymoon?). The possibilities are endless.
3 - Spread the word
Sharing, Liking, and reflagging are great ways to share the Rogue/Gambit week. Help spread the word far and wide. The more people who know about it, the more opportunities people have to participate, and the more Romy goodness available for all of us to enjoy.
4 - Comment/Review
As the fanworks start coming in, leave a comment letting the creator know how much you appreciate their hard work. Creators love receiving comments. It encourages them to keep creating.
5 - Tell a friend
Do you have friends who are Romy fans, but not on Tumblr? Let them know about Rogue/Gambit week. Point them towards the prompts. If they make something and don’t have Tumblr, offer to blog it for them (get their permission first!). Or, they can let us know here at R/G week, we can share their fanworks from our blog.

It’s been a long time in coming, but the wait is finally over. Here’s what y’all have been waiting for—Rogue/Gambit Week 2026. We’re looking forward to a great week celebrating our favorite Southern couple. Here’s the information you’ll need to participate. First, Rogue/Gambit Week 2026 will be held June 14-20, 2026.
We’ve decided to do something a little different this year. This is our seventh year, and it seemed like a good time for a bit of a shake up. Our prompts are quotes taken from across the comics and animated series. We can’t wait to see what you come up with.

We would love to have everyone share their talents. For example, years ago in a different fandom, a musician shared how a certain piece of music represented the couple. It was such a unique and fascinating perspective and something you don't see often.

I can't decide what series of events lead to this moment but I feel like whatever it was was both adorable and amusing.
I was suppose to be doing productive not fandom things, but I blame Rogue and Gambit week + Romy Con. Did so much drawing in a small period of time that I now crave ending my day with my drawing tablet and some tea.
Real life has been kicking my ass on the writing front, but I started a little fic for @roguegambitweek , inspired by the mythology and Horsemen prompts. Fingers crossed I'll have the rest done by the end of the week.

Summary: [Complete] When Bishop first joined the X-Men, he warned them that they would be betrayed by one of their own. He was right, but that’s only the beginning of the story. (This story diverges from continuity just after X-Men #45.)
Notes: There is so much story potential in the relationship between Bishop and the Witness. Bring that to the present and you get a fascinating story which touches on so much more than time travel. Relationships are tested, secrets are revealed, and choices are made. This is an excellent fic is the start of a trilogy which is well worth the read.

Summary: After 2005, the world went to shit. That was Logan’s summary. Global climate change. All the TVs were rectangular and thin. All the cars were purportedly powered by electricity. The music sucked. Network explained events with more detail, but the gist of it was after 2005, the world went to shit. And Remy had to fix it before he could go home to good old 1993.
Notes: This story sticks with me long after I finished reading. While there is something melancholic and bittersweet about it, the fic offers a compelling story of love, community, and saving the world. There’s a figurative ticking clock which keeps you reading right up to the last moment. And, it’s the perfect length that you might find yourself looping around and reading it again after you finish.

Notes: I love the complicated timey-wimey nature of this story. Chelle manages to not only juggle one or two times lines, but plays out a half dozen or so various timelines in over a dozen time frames. And, she makes excellent use of the time travel elements and shows what happens to the future when you use foreknowledge to change your present.

Summary: They never thought this would be possible, but Rogue is uneXpectedly eXpecting. Yet nothing is ever THAT simple in the life of an X-Man. What secret will Gambit discover that complicates their happily-ever-after?
Notes: This is one of those fics you find yourself asking, where's the time travel. And then, it shows up and it is such an important element of the story. It really grabs you as Rogue and Gambit are facing upcoming parenthood--and for anyone who knows the the X-Men, then you know that there are no certainities when it comes to being an X-Man and a parent.

Note: What if you had the ability to change a painful incident from the past? Would you take the opportunity? This fic grapples with that question along with other complications of what happens to your present when you change the past.

Summary: Day 12: because there TOTALLY isn’t enough time travel in the X-Men universe as is! (A time travel AU)
Note: This fic is a lot of fun. There's a framing sequence not only at the beginning and end of the story, but each chapter as well. Aliens want to know if soulmates are real, so they kidnap Rogue and Gambit and put them through a myriad of fanfic tropes. And when it comes to time travel, this chapter hits all the right points you want in a across time romance in a bite size package.

Summary: After a mishap with one of Forge’s latest science projects, Rogue somehow finds herself 12 years into the past. AU Time Travel.
Notes: I would love to see this fic continue. I want to know what happens. Rogue is in a position where she knows how things are supposed to play out, but doesn't *know* what it was actually like.

Notes: Yay! A time loop story at last. And, another story I really want to see continue. The novelty of living forever without consequences loses its appeal after a time, and the consequences of repeatedly dying remains even when the death doesn't. The fic really gives the reader something to think about.

Summary:
When Figaro makes his escape into the great, wide world, Remy must find his petit chaton before Sabertooth decides cat is back on the menu. Fortunately for Remy, he finds another lost soul willing to help him find his lost kitten.
Excerpt:
“Figaro!” Remy called out into the burgeoning dusk. He needed to find the white kitten before he found him.
“Figaro!” His voice echoed across the empty park. The three kittens had wormed their way into his heart. He was responsible for them and he couldn’t let them down. A streak of white darted across the playing field and into the hedges.
“Figaro!” He’d been searching for the last hour and his voice was growing hoarse as he called for the wayward kitten. When he’d taken in the trio, he had planned to only keep them until he could find them a new home. What he hadn’t expected was to grow so attached. Dealing with his growing attachment issues was a matter for another day, today he just needed to find his cat.
“Ahime, che furia! Ahime, che folla! Uno alla volta, per carita!” The prettiest femme he’d ever seen distracted him from his search with her indecipherable quip.
