By night, she is Seraphina Aurelmont — Warrior of Darkness, Liberator of Oppressed Peoples, and Savior of several realms, kicking ass and taking names regularly. By day, she is Julie Molina — a sleepy music columnist, recent transplant to New York City.

Pen to paper, the scratching noises soothe the itch in his brain. You could almost call it meditative, if it weren't for the two conflicting themes bouncing around inside his head.

4.new york state of mind

If there is one thing in life Rose wants, it's to share the city where she and Ray had grown up and fallen in love with her beautiful children. It doesn't matter that Ray is terrified of flying or that the drive from LA is a solid forty-three hours (not including stops) (of which there would be many, knowing her family), Rose is determined that Julie should meet the city at the same age she had met Ray because there was something magical about being fifteen in New York City.

Luke had been hesitant to let Julie take over planning for their anniversary this year. His dad had always failed a bit in that department, and despite their differences, the quiet pain of his mom’s disappointment left a lasting impression and he vowed to never make his person feel that way.

Luke can't contain his grin as the din of the crowd grows into a cacophony when they finally notice the band on stage.
