Summary: While Rogue contemplates leaving the X-Men, Gambit makes a list. Can he persuade her to come to New Orleans with him? He has five good compelling persuasive reasons why she should join him.
Unfortunately (for him), sheâs not easy to convince. Will either one of them be brave enough to admit the truth?

He smirked. âCome with me, River Rat.â
âWhere?â Rogue crossed her arms and redoubled her glare. No smooth talking, two-bit Romeo was going to get the better of her.
âNâawlins.â The patois deepened as he drawled the name of his home town. Her heartbeat quickened at the honeyed drawl.
âNuh-uh, sugah. I ainât crossing state lines with you.â She shouldnât be in this shady alley with him, let alone another state.

Happy Rogue/Gambit Week! I have another Rec List for y'all. Inspired by this week's prompt, "You and I, we could write a book about it.", Iâm recâing fics featuring Rogue, Gambit, and books. As I compiled this list, I chose fics in which the books (or the reading/writing thereof) played a part in their relationship and not just the mention of books/libraries/bookstores. With that said, I did read a bunch of great fics which were book-related, but just didnât quite meet my requirements for this list. Also, there are a few fics I remember reading in the past, which I wanted to include on this list, but, alas, I could not find them again (and therefore canât include them). So, as always, if your favorite fic isnât on the list, no slight was intended.

This fic really ought to have more reads on ao3. Please give it a chance. This fic has it all--action, books, family feels, and romance. It's great and the Romy is endearing. Definitely worth a read.

Notes: This is not the first time Iâve recommended a chapter of Threads for one of these lists, and it probably wonât be the last. Each chapter is an alternate universe, and can be read on its own. Although, with this chapter (Ch. 10) being the last chapter, you will get more out of the chapter if you read the whole fic. It's a good fic and worth the read, even if the rest of the chapters aren't about books or writers. This is one of the few fics where it actually features Rogue as a writer (instead of just a reader). Therefore, proving they really can write a book.

Five Ways You Can Participate in Rogue/Gambit Week 2026
With less than three weeks until the start of Rogue/Gambit Week 2026, we hope youâre having a lot of fun creating your Romy Week fanworks. In case you want to participate, but have no idea what to do, here are a few suggestions
1 - Create
However you express your creativity, use that to create something Romy related. Choose your favorite creative verb (write, draw, sing, sew, bake, knit, etc) and do that. Thereâs no limit on what you can do. Have fun. We canât wait to see what you create.
2 - Make a list
While it is always appropriate to share a list, this year it even fits the prompts. (âI have a listâ). Your list could be on top five kisses, favorite animated moments, must read Romy moments in comics, favorite fanfics, songs with a Romy vibe, etc. You can even mix and match promptsâsuch as create a list of top honeymoon (or, second honeymoon) locations (whenâs the honeymoon?). The possibilities are endless.
3 - Spread the word
Sharing, Liking, and reflagging are great ways to share the Rogue/Gambit week. Help spread the word far and wide. The more people who know about it, the more opportunities people have to participate, and the more Romy goodness available for all of us to enjoy.
4 - Comment/Review
As the fanworks start coming in, leave a comment letting the creator know how much you appreciate their hard work. Creators love receiving comments. It encourages them to keep creating.
5 - Tell a friend
Do you have friends who are Romy fans, but not on Tumblr? Let them know about Rogue/Gambit week. Point them towards the prompts. If they make something and donât have Tumblr, offer to blog it for them (get their permission first!). Or, they can let us know here at R/G week, we can share their fanworks from our blog.
