harry had dinner with rob stinger when your s/o’s sister just tragically passed away. the euphoria fiasco was horrible to louis while harry profited from it. harry had publically dinber w liam gallangher which is louis dream. ”the drink and my wandering hands” how can you interpret that in any other way than harry cheated? or the way louis digs at how harry is a ’greedy fucker’ in fearless and the birthday tweet. it seems to me harry lets these ‘rumors’ fester on for his benefit when he knows they’re damning his partner ?

do you agree or do you think these things can be excused by jefe or contracts? xx

Look, I can tell you’ve been reading arguments from a certain side of the fandom, because I recognise them in your ask. 

The thing that I think every single person in the fandom needs to get, like to really get into their own heads, is that we don’t know these people. 

Can I categorically prove that neither Harry or Louis is or has been an abusive partner? Nope. Neither can anyone. Anyone who says that is absolutely full of crap. 

At the same time, can I, at this point in time, categorically prove that Harry or Louis is abusive or has been? Not really. 

The problem is that people are looking for the full story and trying to piece it together from tiny scraps of information, and filling in the gaps with value judgements or made up bullshit about how the law works. It’s happening on all sides. 

For instance, I don’t know why Harry acted that way around Fizzy’s passing. But I’ve also never had a partner’s sister die. I don’t know how I would act. It’s not my job to police grief. Maybe Harry was being an asshole, maybe they broke up, maybe he had to go to a business meeting while grieving. We don’t know. 

Again with Euphoria, I don’t know if someone had to approve that from Harry’s team. Neither do you. If they did, I don’t know if Harry himself approved it. I don’t think anyone really profited off of that snippet of ‘fan fic’ being animated in an HBO show. Once again, maybe they’ve broken up and Sony okay’ed it without asking Louis, maybe no one asked them at all and they are together. I don’t know. 

It’s been made clear by Liam himself that he knows BOTH Harry and Louis so I don’t know why people harp on about that. 

With lyrics, once again, you can’t insist they are interpreted literally. People insist that to try and prove Larry is real, which isn’t always fair, and people insist that to try and prove it isn’t. Lyrics are fictional. Maybe they tell us a bit of the truth, maybe they don’t. Once again, I don’t know. Cheating is, although awful, not uncommon. Maybe Harry did cheat. Maybe Louis’ lyrics like ‘I’m sorry that I hurt you darling’, show that Louis cheated too. Maybe it’s just storytelling and metaphor. No one knows. 

I don’t know if Louis’ tweet was about Harry or not. It may well be. It may not be. It may be it was but they are together and both annoyed at Harry’s merch team. 

In terms of ‘Harry lets the rumours fester on’, well, you could argue Louis does too. I mean, you could argue that it’s interesting that the fan art that was chosen for Defenceless is the most overt Larry reference he picked, and Defencless is the song that happened to be pushed by fans up the charts. You could argue Louis did that on purpose. It’s entirely plausible that they both let ‘larry’ fester on in order to keep a fan base. It’s entirely plausible they are actually together and they refer to it because it means something to them. It’s entirely plausible that they were together and broke up. I don’t know. 

People in this fandom need to understand that none of us know. I don’t know Harry as a person so it would be ridiculous of me to say ‘this is 100 percent how he is with his partners’. Similarly, I don’t know Louis either. Unless something actually damning comes out about either of them re how they treat people (eg allegations) I mean...I can’t make sweeping judgements of people without nuance if I don’t know them and nothing damning has been brought to light. 

No one here knows what has happened between Harry and Louis. We conjecture, but we are all building a puzzle out of a box with 80 percent of the pieces missing and pretending that means something concrete. It’s entirely possible they’ve broken up, or they’ve broken up and gotten back together, or they never broke up, or they are together but one of them is actually a piece of shit. I can’t tell you what’s true or not. No one here actually can, on any side. 

As I’ve said a million times, this fandom loves to blame ‘contracts’ for things that are almost certainly not contractual. That’s because a lot of people in this fandom don’t have a legal education (and no, being pre law does not count) and don’t know how contracts work. This fandom has completely made up stuff about the law, and it’s actually a little dangerous. So if you’re thinking ‘a contract is probably doing this’ in regards to One Direction, I would say close to 90 percent of the time, people have zero reason to think that. 

Similarly, people have demonised Jeff for reasons that make no sense. Jeff is definitely a massive capitalist and probably not someone I would be friends with, but he’s a manager. It’s his job to ask his client what the client’s goals are, and to get shit done. It’s NOT his job to actively closet his client against his will or control...the entire music industry. Harry sought out Jeff, Harry befriended Jeff, Harry clearly hand picked the Azoff’s YEARS AGO as people he wanted to work with, Jeff isn’t some wizard who is tricking Harry and working against him. Harry picked him. Harry is clearly personal friends with him. They are working together. 

What does that mean? I don’t know. I suspect it means Harry signed his solo contract (which wouldn’t be ‘closeting him’) and he and Jeff had a plan for his solo career, which would have included the notion that Harry isn’t going to come out right now. People on here pretend they are really sympathetic to ‘closeting’ but apparently hate anyone who is closeted by choice, and not by some kind of made up contractual term that Harry supposedly signed full well knowing he’d get forcibly closeted AGAIN. 

Why is Louis being treated shit by Sony? I don’t know. Could it be because they broke up and Harry’s team is actively trying to keep Louis’ off of anyone’s radar. I mean...sure. Could it be they are together and Sony doesn’t see Louis as an asset they care about/they see Harry as their golden goose and want to invest in him and not jeopardise him, and Harry can’t do anything about that? Could be. None of us know. 

I don’t know why Louis would sign with Syco again in 2017. I don’t know why Harry acted x way around y time. No one does. Anyone on this website telling you they know why things are happening with more certainty than anyone else, UNLESS, they are speaking to expertise they actually have, is being insincere. 

People need to understand we have literally like...ten percent of the picture. Personally I am here because I do currently believe they are together, but I 100 percent cannot say that that is the truth. I can point to x and y behaviours to prove my point, but anyone else who thinks differently can point to a few too. It’s fine.

 People need to stop seeing Harry and Louis and their lives as this way to gain social currency over other people on the internet, and as this way to control massive amounts of discourse and gain followers. There are things I can say that I’m pretty sure about, like they were always fond of each other in the band and the tattoos clearly relate to each other and Louis’ album speaks to a long term relationship and revolves around oppression and he doesn’t appear to have seen his son in a long while. I can’t tell you with certainty why that all is. I can tell you what I think, you can tell me what you think, ultimately we are both working with limited information. 

So you know, I don’t know them, you don’t know them, no one does. We actually don’t know their story. And people 100 percent try and explain certain narratives of their story that they personally like, whether it be the perfect romance or the jaded oppressed Louis or whatever, by adding in a lot of assumptions and value judgements and made up legal shit and demonising random people for no discernible reason.

I mean...is it Harry’s fault Olivia made that post? Probably not. I mean we literally can’t assume he didn’t okay it or she didn’t show him or ask him before it was sent. You can’t know. 

People are frustrated with Harry because of what he’s currently representing, and I’ve said this many times, but I think that’s kind of fair. 

He’s a white rich celebrity who sold covid shirts and went to a wedding and went to Italy twice and hasn’t worn masks several times. He’s a publicly pretty straight man, who actively makes money off of pride based merchandise and being positioned as ‘maybe queer and interesting’, but isn’t an activist. He’s a white man who posted BLM stuff but who primarily seems to hang out with white people and is doing a movie in 2021 that may or may not be copoganda. 

Harry ‘became the villain of this world’ because...well...people like him are...actually kind of villainous in the eyes of many. Do you really expect working class people and front line workers to like a person who is acting like a covid exceptionalist? Do you really expect queer people to be super fond of someone who won’t make any statements to support the community but will sell pride t shirts? Do you really expect feminist women to be particularly interested in a white man who is being praised for not hating women? Do you really expect every person of colour to be okay with his film choices? Do you really expect the queer community to not be annoyed that he got defended for his Vogue shoot while trans women are being killed in the street? 

I like Harry. I am a fan of him. But people in his broader fandom, including here, really lack perspective. In a world ravaged by a pandemic where the rich have actively left everyone behind, where white people didn’t listen to science and are now buying up a vaccine before third world countries can, where queerness has become cool and profitable while trans people are being attacked daily and their rights are challenged in court, people like Harry Styles are the villain. 

Harry and Taylor and Kim and Shawn and Ed etc etc...they aren’t like us. We can like their little songs and dances and enjoy them as fans, but you cannot shame ordinary people for being utterly sick of celebrities right now, in this climate. They aren’t like us. 

I suggest every single person who needs to defend Harry, or any millionaire celebrity, from pretty fair criticism, starts realising that having a fave celebrity is one thing, but it’s not the real world. We might love Harry Styles here, we might like his albums and his photoshoots and enjoy him for fun, but in the real world we are not the same. People are allowed to have real world feelings, without Harries of any variety telling them they have to bow down to a celebrity.

Our Lives, Non Fiction by @indiaalphawhiskey (E, 114K) this is, quite literally, the best fic I’ve read in years. It’s so well written, clever, funny, emotional, and sexy. Its draw you in immediately and you’ll end up falling in love with these characters before you know it. Don’t miss this one.

Mine Would Be You by @crinkle-eyed-boo (E, 115K) Beautifully written, flawed characters and an emotionally engaging and ANGSTY plot. Super hot smut that made me cry like a fool. Banter, OT5 friendship, and the gritty realness of New York as a backdrop. Loved this one.

Stranger Stars by shaylea / @sunshineandhisrainbows (E, 212K) It’s a really unique fic that takes place on a 6-week safari through Africa. It’s incredibly detailed and the author does a lovely job with the character arcs and with setting the scene.

The Dead of July by whimsicule (M, 117K) Even if you know nothing about MCU, this fic is a must read. Lots of angst, great writing, and what feels like very well-handled depiction of PTSD and everything else that comes along with kidnapping, torture, and amnesia. Good times. But there’s a happy ending and a 110K second part (with more angst and mental health struggles) that I haven’t read yet, but I’ve heard good reviews of!

my heart is breathing for this moment in time by usedtothebeach (E, 160K) Probably my absolute favorite time travel fic. I’ve read it more times than I’d like to admit, and every time I love it more. One of the things I like most is how organically the author weaves in canon events…every little moment is an easter egg without it being so obvious that it pulls you out of the fic. Anyway, this one is so moving and so absorbing, I hope you like it if you give it a try! There’s an 18K companion piece to it as well, but you’ll see the link at the appropriate time when you’re reading the main fic.

Tired, Tired Sea by mediawhore / @mediawhorefics (M, 113K) Always a favorite author, this one is beautifully descriptive and moody and charming. I was anxiously waiting for this one from the first drabbles I saw on Tumblr. I loved the way Harry’s character unfolded and let Louis in, the way Louis made space for him in his life (and heart), and the way Harry’s character struggled with and eventually found a way to live and be happy with his fame.

for as long as I can remember (it’s always been december) by green_feelings / @greenfeelings (E, 128K) This author always delivers on the angst, so yes…I cried. I loved the sense of the inevitable with these two characters — as in real life, they’re just meant to be. But first they’ll go through hell.

Here in The Afterglow by fondleeds (NR, 87K) This author just blows me away each time they share something. There’s such an incredible sense of being immersed in the world they create. This one is so moving and painful and, ultimately, joyous.

Love Is A Rebellious Bird by 100percentsassy, gloria_andrews / @100percentsassy, @gloriaandrews (E, 135K) Everything about this fic is glorious. I’m always struck by how well the characters are fleshed out, how their behavior lines up with their backstory, how ridiculously hot the chemistry is, and how agonizing the angst is. So yes, no shocker, I cried buckets. Thank god for a happy ending.

Never Never Never Stop for Anyone (Sheylinsonverse) by aimmyarrowshigh, spibsy (lucy_and_ramona) (e, 10-part series 439K) Yes, here I am again, putting this series on a list. Probably 10 people in this fandom like it as much as I do, but I don’t care. I have read all 440K words more than once, and will likely do it a few more times. Yes, it needs editing, but even so…really well written, super sexy (if you like reading BDSM and can handle Larry + someone else), and such interesting character development. One of my favorite things about this fic is how the authors explore the differences in the ways the different characters inhabit their Dom and Sub personalities.

It’s action packed, funny, deeply moving, and has such a satisfying ending. You will be so wrung out after reading this fic – this author puts you through it, but it’s SO worth it. Great banter, great side characters, action, smut…it has it all.

Nothing But You On My Mind by nonsensedarling / @absolutenonsense (E, 84K) I couldn’t put this down from the minute I started. Everything about it was such fun. Terrific banter, great chemistry, unique story, beautiful writing. I literally read the first 9 chapters in one sitting. Starting at 1:30 in the morning (like an idiot).

Black With Autumn Rain by Whimsicule (T, 93K) This writer is a favorite. If you like intense, creative stories, with complex characters and tight dialogue, you should read all of their fics. This one has the flavor of a Daphne du Maurier novel – dark, creepy, and moodily romantic. Plus a supernatural edge. It’s so good.

Switch Out The Batteries by LoadedGunn / istajmaal (E, 88K) Just....holy shit So, one of the things I really love about this fic is that because it’s dual POV, you get this story told from both the Dom POV and the Sub POV which makes it super fun and interesting. These authors always write truly amazing smut and this is no exception. I actually love the first part of this series, but it’s not necessary to read it first.

Wild and Unruly by 100percentsassy, gloria_andrews / @gloriaandrews (E, 124K) One of the OG classics in this fandom. If you haven’t read it yet, you’re missing out. It’s just a great, original story. Plus, cowboy Harry, city boy Louis, bad guys to hate, nail biting drama, hot af sexual chemistry and smut, and a super satisfying ending.

Saving Symphony Hall by @helloamhere (E, 125K) Artist Harry. I’ve recommended this one quite a bit because it’s just chock full of so much wonderful stuff – great story, great OT5 friendships, great banter, sexy smut…so much good stuff. In addition I really enjoyed how Harry as an artist was fleshed out. I also really liked the juxtaposition of Artist Harry (who’s also an Alpha) and data driven/left brain Louis (who’s also an Omega). A great read (also, there’s a terrific prequel you might want to start with if you like the concept of the fic).

Sodalite & Adventurine by @forreveries (E, 81K) Gay pirate adventure that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat until the end. Amazing chemistry, great world building, super sexy smut, and beautiful writing. Do yourself a favor and read it!

Say Hallelujah, Say Goodnight by alivingfire (E, 110K) This is an epic Angel and Demon fic that I still think about from time to time. It’s action packed throughout, heartbreaking at points, and full of beautifully written passages. A wild ride from start to finish.

Empty Skies by green_feelings / @greenfeelings (E, 113K) I just started re-reading this the other day and it holds up so well. This author is always a pleasure to read. Their fics just are well plotted and the characters are nicely fleshed out. I loved Perrie as Harry’s bestie, the bitterness and angst is PAINFUL, and the ending feels well earned.

Pull Me Under by zarah5 (E, 140K) One of the very first fics I read when I came into this fandom…and I’ve read it multiple times since. Zarah’s fics hold up every time. This one has it all, great pacing, ot5 friendship, banter, super sexy smut, etc etc. Plus, Louis being super jealous of Harry’s best friend.

Into The Blue by zarah5 (E, 117K) honestly, I love all of this author’s fics, but I think this is my favorite of theirs. Louis as a flirty scuba instructor? Newly single Harry who just wants a fling? Boys living on other sides of the world who only have a few weeks together? Heartbreak. Hot af smut. OT5 friendship. Please….give me all that shit.

As You Are by zarah5 (E, 139K) Again, great author who always delivers. This time it’s Louis as a Radio1 DJ and XFactor judge and Harry as (an adult) contestant. It also has some super sexy flirting and smut as well as a great Narry bros friendship side story.

Wear It Like A Crown by zarah5 (E, 141K) One of my favorites from this author. Really unique storyline, complex characters, great smut, great pacing. 

These Inconvenient Fireworks by mdasch & everydayslike (NC17, 190K) somehow this fic feels like it birthed the fandom’s love of fic. Did anything exist before TIF? I’m joking. I‘m sure there were great fics before this one. But there’s something about this one that feels special. It’s incredibly funny, the smut is super hot, the characterizations all work so well, the OT5 friendships are perfect, it has great banter and, since this is a teacher fic rec, all the boys are high school teachers. Except Liam. He’s a fireman.

Little Technicolor Things by scary_crow (M, 72K) This is truly one of the most beautiful pieces of writing I have ever read and it is an absolutely travesty that it’s not being talked about every day. This fic is gorgeous and poetic and romantic and heartbreaking and an explosion of metaphoric images and everything I never knew I needed but now that I have it I want to read it over and over and over. I’m including this even though both boys kind of need care in this one, but I think Harry needing Louis might be what heals Louis the most.

Run Like the Devil by Benzos (E, 140K) If you like supernatural elements and demons and dark themes, this fic has it in spades. In a way it’s almost more of a character study, and it’s unsurprisingly pretty OOC, but it’s very well done. Read the tags.

Domestic Monsters by g_uttertrash (9-part series, 234K, mixed ratings) No rec for witches would be complete without this wonderful series of fics. It’s just full of magic and banter and great writing and complex characterizations.

Promise In The Sky by Throwthemflowers / @hazzabeeforlou (E, 99K) This one reads like a deeply personal and extremely moving description of what I would imagine life is like growing up in a religious and homophobic community. Beautifully written and painful, but thankfully with a happy ending.

You’ll Breathe Me In (You Won’t Release) by LoadedGunn (E, 95K) Also known as The Driving Instructor fic. This has some of the best pacing I’ve read in a fic, some really well written BDSM smut, and characters I just really enjoy. I know it’s not for everyone. Read the tags. Teacher Louis (most of the fic he’s studying to be a teacher, but he’s working in a school by the end).

My Lights Stay Up, But Your City Sleeps by PearlyDewdrops (E, 108K) Featuring lots of pining, really well done internal monologue from Louis, and excellent smut. It also has some really lovely writing that I felt captured the pain of mental illness/anxiety very well.

Tainted Saints and Velvet Vices by Toomanytears (E, 126K) Let me start by saying that I know next to nothing about Harry Potter, but this crossover was so much fun to read. I thought this author did a terrific job of creating a realistic hatred/rivalry and growth for both boys so when they come together it’s as good for us as it is for them (well, maybe they have more fun — the smut is slow burn, but it’s well done)!

Lightening Strikes Twice by @dinosaursmate (E, 106K) It’s not often that I read a 100+K fic multiple times, but this one is worth it. It’s one of my favorites from this author, and a favorite all around. It’s an epic love story spanning decades and massive life changes. It’s sexy and well-written, and so touching, and so fulfilling in many ways.

Yellow by 13ways  (E, 85K) Oh mah gawd. I love this fic so much. This was the result of a reverse big bang I made a prompt for and I’m forever grateful that this was the author who chose it! Yes, it’s Batman/Catwoman. No, you don’t ned to know anything about the comics. But wow! Such good pacing, the smut scenes are fire, the concept is so original and keeps you guessing until the very end.

And down the long and silent street by whimsicule (M, 86K) Similar time period to Victorian Boy, although this one focuses much more on the class structure of Victorian England. The romance here is not only between two men, but between men of very different classes – which only adds to the tension of the already intense subplot. This author always writes with great depth and the detail of the setting feels spot on.

Emperor’s New Clothes by sunsetmog (E, 92K) I read this one years ago and while I always enjoy this author’s writing, I don’t recall a ton of details except that the deterioration of Louis’ mental state really made me cry. But don’t worry, there’s a happy ending!

strawberry milk fic by Wankerville (E, 3-part series, 158K) Read the tags on this (especially the first part) as it’s got some heavy topics. But the series is also very soft and gentle and very sexy.

Speaking of Marvels by navigator, quitter (E, 101K) This was one of the first fics I read in this fandom, but I read it again recently and had forgotten how really wonderful it is. The writing is so lovely and the characters feel so well developed. I especially loved how the authors explored how differently the two of them would respond to their relationship given the different stages of life they were in. It made the romance and the attraction and the angst feel really real.

Where Your Heart Is by freetheankles / @anymerrylilthought​ (E, 154K) One of my all-time favorite fics and an absolute must read IMO. Chock full of hurt/comfort (both emotionally and physically), this fic is so moving and so beautiful and will take you on an emotional roller coaster ride from start to finish. The fic has been deleted, but the link is to an epub download.

Victorian Boy by audreysheart (E, 101K) For anyone that hasn’t read this yet, it’s delightfully unique and layered with a little of everything – hate to love, romance, intrigue, action, betrayal, sex, and more. It’s well written, sexy – in a wonderfully Victorian way, and keeps you guessing.

In Vogue by otpwhatever / @thecelineharry (M, 121K) This one is just….so much. The intensity of the characters, the crazy hot smut (oh god, the window scene), the FASHION, the angst (I had to take a walk around the block after reading it), the epic love story between two men who could rule the world if they could just figure their shit out. Loved it.

For Reasons Wretched and Divine by @indiaalphawhiskey (E, 95K) Really well written, angsty, emotional fic. I love this author’s ability to draw you in so deeply (and the smut is excellent).

You Are The Blood by sacrasticfluentry (E, 176K) If you’re a Harry Potter fan, you’ve probably read this one. But if you haven’t, what are you waiting for? I don’t even like HP and I LOVED this fic. It’s a thrilling story and it’s full of ridiculously hot smut.

Your Name Is Tattooed On My Heart my mcpofife (E, 87K) I reread this one recently and it's truly delightful. The characterizations are so well done. Harry is so endearing (I cried over his heartbreak). And the smut is both hot and really emotional. Love this one.

Take Me Home (Country Roads) by Awriterwrites / @a-writerwrites (E, 87K) Probably my favorite of this author’s many fics. Set in rural West Virginia, this hate to love fic is funny, touching, super sexy, painful and features big city doctor Louis vs country boy healer Harry.

Don’t Want Shelter by kingsofeverything (FullOnLarrie) / @kingsofeverything (E, 77K) This author does such a good job of creating these characters and their years-long dislike for each other that when they’re forced to work and live together and confront their behavior, the emotions feel so realistic and you’re just rooting for them to figure it all out. Such a great read (plus, “older” Larry, which is such a rare treat in this fandom).

Atlas At Last by louisandthealien (M, 83K) I swear I would read this author’s grocery list. I just love everything they write. This one is a 1970s coming of age road trip fic. I really enjoyed the OT5 friendships, excellent dialogue, and Harry and Louis discovering themselves and each other.

I would name the stars for you (I would take you there) by orphan_account (M, 91K) This is just beautifully written. Angst. Mutual pining. Dumb boys. Beautiful descriptions of art and creativity and fame and beautiful poetry. I re-read this recently and it still held up.

Unbelievers by isthatyoularry (E, 137K) Oooh, this one is so good. High school Au, footie, enemies with benefits, so much sexual tension (and just tension), and complex characters. Another one I’ve read more than once.

for now (and forever) by orphan_account (M, 83K) Really moving, beautifully crafted fake relationship / friends to lovers story. It’s been a long time since I read this one, but I remember being really touched by it (and wishing there was more smut....but what else is new? LOL!).

Shake Me Down by AGreatPerhaps12 (NR, 209K) this fic will run you through the wringer, but it’s really a great read. I really like the way the author took the boys from enemies to friends to boyfriends, and how we got to see how protective and supportive Louis became towards Harry.

Who Painted The Moon Black by throughthedark (E, 96K) This is the Hunger Games AU. It’s super intense, there’s a lot of dark themes (the E is not for smut, let’s put it that way), but there’s a happy ending. SO well written.

Here are some exciting and promising YA or New Adult books coming in 2021, all with LGBTQ+ characters and themes. There are so many more, but there aren’t covers yet or I’m waiting to include them in a follow-up post!

1. May the Best Man Win by Z.R. Ellor (May 2021) - A trans boy enters a throw-down battle for the title of Homecoming King with the boy he dumped last summer.

2. Meet Cute Diary by Emery Lee (May 2021) - A trans boy’s first love challenges the ideas of perfect relationships he writes about in his popular blog. 

3. Jay’s Gay Agenda by Jason June (June 2021) - After moving from his rural town to a big city, Jay makes a list of all the romantic things he will finally be able to do. 

4. In Deeper Waters by F.T. Lukens (April 2021) - A young prince must rely on a mysterious stranger to save him when he is kidnapped. 

5. One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston (May 2021) - A 23-year-old realizes her subway crush is displaced from 1970’s Brooklyn, and she must do everything in her power to help her and try not to fall in love.

6. Perfect on Paper by Sophie Gonzales (March 2021) - A bisexual girl who gives anonymous love advice to her classmates is hired by the hot guy to help him get his ex back.

7. The Girl from the Sea by Molly Ostertag (June 2021) - In this graphic novel, a girl can’t wait to escape the island where she lives. She has many secrets, as does the mysterious girl who saves her from drowning. 

8. Thanks a Lot, Universe by Chad Lucas (May 2021) - A friendship forms between the popular boy and the boy prone to anxiety attacks. 

9. Bruised by Tanya Boteju (March 2021) - A teen girl navigates first love, identity, and grief when she immerses herself in the colorful, brutal, beautiful world of roller derby. 

10. As Far as You’ll Take Me by Phil Stamper (February 2021) - Marty is excited to be in London, exploring his sexuality, and finding the people he will call home. 

11. Infinity Reaper by Adam Silvera (March 2021) - The sequel to Infinity Son, Emil and Brighton try to navigate the ongoing war.  

12. When Tara Met Farah by Tara Pammi (January 2021) - Tara makes a deal with Farah to help her pass the math course in exchange for welcoming Farah into the local Bollywood Drama & Dance Society.

13. Between Perfect and Real by Ray Stoeve (April 2021) - A trans boy wants everyone to see who he truly is and thinks playing a role on stage will help. 

14. The Ghosts We Keep by Mason Deaver (June 2021) - After their older brother passes, Liam begins spending time with their brother’s best friend. 

15. Flash Fire by T.J. Klune (July 2021) - In this sequel to The Extraordinaries, Nick just wants to finish his self-insert bakery AU fanfic but can’t because new superheroes and villains keep showing up in his city. 

16. Gearbreakers by Zoe Hana Mikuta (June 2021) - Two girls on opposite sides of a war discover they’re fighting for a common purpose and falling for each other.

17. Yesterday is History by Kosoko Jackson (February 2021) - After a liver transplant gives him the ability to time travel, a boy jumps back and forth between 1969 and the present, falling for another boy in the past along the way. 

• when RBB and SBB had a photo out with them for multiple shows until we figured out who it was (which just showed how they were keeping up with fandom discussion). the person ended up being Larry Grayson and the photo chosen had a signature that read “Love, Larry.” 15 minutes before the show started, the photo was gone

• when they were photographed with the drag queens

• the first time RBB was pictured reading a book which was k.d. Lang’s “All You Get is Me” which uncover’s k.d.’s deepest emotions, from commitment to animal rights that threatened to ruin her career, to her coming to terms with a sexuality that made her an unwitting poster girl for the lesbian and gay community.

• When they were sat with photos of Princess Diana and Prince Charles who suffered from rumors of unwanted pregnancies and secret relationships while the babygate news was still fresh

• when the bears had just started their twitter account, they began a countdown on October 20th. during this time they were absent from the stage. On the 22nd of October, that’s when 1D cancelled their first ever show

• when the bears reappear, they have literal SECURITY GUARDS protecting them and two stage lights colored blue and green spotlit on the bears (how the fuck did any of this happen i’m still in a daze)

• when a photo appeared of RBB with one of harry’s childhood friends and they were at a gay bar. coincidentally, louis was across the street from that bar the same night.

• the fucking CERTIFICATE for being “Fabulous” that was obviously written in harry’s handwriting

• the bears having their own phone number that is still active to this DAY

• when it was proven that the bears travel? with them? off tour? and they were in LA for jimmy kimmel. that night on Kimmel he did a dumb sketch trying to get a 1D potato account to have as many followers as possible which was obviously a dig at fans. later, RBB & SBB posted on their twitter a photo of them with angry eyebrows and a potato masher.

• everything about this fucking photo from the keys to the tabs to the home screen. the attention to detail??

• when the band went home for the holidays and the bears only changed their location to 🏡 when both louis and harry were in England.

• when the bears posted a photo of their dvd and book collection and one of the books had a library sticker that read it was from holmes chapel

• RBB being photographed in front of “The Bears Head Inn” when it was only 5 minutes away from holmes chapel.

• the day of the “birth” RBB posted a photo of him on the toilet reading a “Little Book of Calm”

Harry was in the biggest boy band in the world. He was also one half of the best (or worst, depends on who you ask) kept secret relationship in the music industry.

Now, almost five years on, after One Direction has broken up, and Harry and Louis’ relationship has as well, a video threatens to put everything at risk.

One determined Irishman, a massive publicity stunt and two begrudging exes are all it takes to bring One Direction back to life and maybe, just maybe, Harry and Louis’ mangled love life too.
