something about how dean finds a sense of freedom and satisfaction in violence, sadism and hunting. something about how sam feels that he becomes better, 'purer' through the self-harm and sacrifice as self-punishment. dean carves into others. sam turns the blade into himself.

Dean on the other hand I see as a bit more truly sadistic. He wants to draw blood, to cut Sam up and then press and dig his fingers into the wounds, he wants to see Sam mottled with bruising marks and purposely land a hit again on top of them, and especially especially he wants to purposely fuck Sammy without prep so he can see him bleed and beg and cry. He wants to split Sam open and watch the way his face screws up, or his eyes go glassy, and then Sammy's body shakes and Dean can see the way his mind empties and eyes shine with tears, he can see how desperate Sammy is to do good, and be good. His perfect baby brother. And Dean fucking loves it. He wants to make Sammy hurt because Sammy is his, and if seeing his baby brother sobbing and crying, hips bucking even as he begs him to stop, begging and pleading that it 'hurts, hurts too bad De please, please no, Dee…', gets him off, he's entitled to that, isn't he?
