It knocks you over with the reminder that their brothers, brothers with fucked up views on relationships and who literally don’t get along with anyone but each other. Not even their own father. But love each other to the point of irreparable pain and damage.

season 3, episode 4, Sam and Dean check into a motel room with a mirror on the ceiling and right across the hall is an old friend of Dean's who claims that a sex worker he just banged and paid was "his sister/step-sister." but i'm not supposed to see incestuous subtext/themes/hints/suggestions/parallels/blaring neon signs anywhere in this fuckass show.
