❝ five, six, seven, eight... ❞ ( she stares at herself in the mirror as she rehearses the segment of the choreography. she goes for a turn and trips ; ) ❝ ah, shit. this won’t do it. ❞ ( she cannot blame it on her shoelaces this time. her shoes are well tied with a double knot on top of that. she cannot blame it on her clothing. she is wearing leggings. there are the best when it comes to exercise in general. she has a crop top to. ; ) - ( she walks up to the radio and hit pause. water break. ; ) ❝ give...bang bang...❞ ( she mumbles the lyrics ; ) - ( she stares at the laptop and watches the choreography from top to bottom. she analyzes the moves that she has a hard time with. from time to time, she pauses the video. she practices a particular move ; ) ❝ aish...why did i said that i was ready to be part of the dance break...it’s okay, dami, you got this... ❞ ( she grabs the remote this time and positions herself in front of the mirror. ; ) ❝ you got this, rosa lee dami...you got this... ❞ ( she takes a deep breath before pressing play. she barely has the time to drop the remote and kick it away when schoolboy q’s voice can be heard from the speaker ; ) - ( she always has that bad habit, as a dance, where she starts mouthing the song when she gets into it. something she should technically not do. at least, it shows how passionate she is. ; ) ❝ i love to get on, i love get 2 on... ❞ ( she surprises herself that she has managed to go this far; however, by not being concentrated on her dance, she stumbles. if the others were there for practice, she would have tripped on the girl in front of her. ; ) ❝ yikes... ❞ ( another fail. she pauses the song. ; ) ❝ let’s do it again. and again. and again. until i can pass that part of the choreography, master it and nail it. ❞

( hours flew by. dami is still there practicing. she does not realize that one of her seniors at the dance academy has been there watching her practice. “it’s commendable how you are practicing so hard, but you’re doing it wrong” ; ) ❝ ah, sunbae... ❞ ( dami, flustered, bows ; ) - ( “you’re doing the part of the girl with black cap and red shirt, right?” ; ) ❝ yes, jooyeon-sunbae. ❞ ( dami bites her lower lip while she watches her senior watch the video a couple of times. her senior got the whole choreography down in minutes. one day, dami will be that good too. ) - ( “follow me.” ) - ( they practice for a while. any minor mistake results in then restarting from the top. no water breaks unless dami really looks like she is about to faint of dehydration. step by step. dami, somehow, can notice the amelioration. she is actually doing better. ; ) ❝ so, this move was supposed to be done like this...i see...one, two, three and four... ❞ ( hours of practicing alone was nothing compared to her hour with her senior. ; ) - ( “alright, let see who does it better?” ; ) ❝ ah, come on, sunbae~~~ ❞ ( she pouts adorably ; ) ❝ damichi, is a small fry next to you~ sunbae-ya~~~ ❞ ( her senior looks at her and laughs. “hurry up, get in position” ; ) - ( ‘aegyo’ fail. it seems to only work on the guys in her life. ; ) ❝ give me all that you got now... ❞ (dami moves to the middle of the practice room and waits for the song to start. her senior hits the play button. ; ) - ( dami is so concentrated and stressed. somehow, she manages to complete the choreography. ; ) - ( “damichi did better than i expected.” her senior ruffles her hair while the switch places. dami watches her senior perform she is also reminded on how gay she was because her senior is hot as hell. the trials and tribulations of being bi. ) - ( her senior had recorded both of them dance. while they watch both performances at the same time, her senior points out where dami did wrong and what she needs to work on. “you have the basics down. it’s time to polish. you’re pretty rough around the edges. it could also be nerves. relax.” ; ) - ( for the rest of the practice 2 hour, they danced together which helped dami a lot. ; ) - ( “you’re not so bad. keep up with the good work.” her senior compliments her while messing her hairdo again. ) ❝ i’ll do my best... ❞

on one end of the circle, there was that loud small fry that had been running her mouth about her for a hot minute. sure, dami was not the prettiest girls. she knew. she went through a dark period of her life where she battled with her appearance and her thoughts. it was not saying that she was bulletproof now and that nothing would ever phase her. she was stronger now. in other words, there were no more tears left to cry, no spilled milk left to mourn and no more parades to run. the dj dropped the beat. it was her turn to replied to the little girl’s tirade. if she had to come with that low blow, then all gloves were off and she was free to hit below the belt as well. she was free to crawl under her skin. it was nothing personal really. or, perhaps, it was a classic case of instant karma and self-defense.

this is the playlist of a girl who was born with a silver spoon to her mouth. she had to deal with the ugly divorce of her parents when she was young and the many back and forth from one house to the other until her mom gained full custody. while she does have the airs of a confident young woman ( or “boss bitch” ) she also had to go through a lot. the lyrics of expensive hit the mark ❝ the ones who look expensive / could be broke on the inside ❞. being a target during high school left various of scars. these scars still follow her, but there are always ways to hide them. she isn’t the jealous type, but, if she ever was in a relationship, she tends to be quite insecure. as for her sexuality, make me feel nails it. however, she is not going to yell it on all the rooftops.

in the corner of the dance studio, dami was catching on her breath. just another day of practice nothing much. even at 21, she still dreamed of being scouted by some major company, becoming a trainee and debuting as an idol. she was not so young now though. at her age, most were actually debuting. typically, trainees were teenagers. perhaps, she was a late bloomer. she discovered her passion too late. regardless, she was there practicing to becoming a decent catch. the only thing that she struggled the most was her singing. it was not like that was what she was aiming for. the position that she sought after was to become a rapper.

there was that one memory that she recalled. that one time that maybe she did enjoy singing. it was nothing too serious. she was in hongdae with a few friends. there was this outdoor karaoke event going on. it was actually more than just karaoke. there was a stage. amateurs would give their names and would perform on the stage.

E.” ( as she repeats it, her lips are in a different color. when her lips are black, some fumes escapes her lips while the track starts to play ; ) - ( the camera slowly backs away while she can be seen with dark and bold makeup. she no longer looks like the soft cutiepie from the begin of the video. she is wearing a black bra, a studded leather jacket and a high-waisted black pants ; ) “that DΔMN!ROSΔLIE back at it again with another cover.” ( she grabs a skull with dripping black liquid [actually melted chocolate with black dye in it] and she licks it ; ) - ( she stares at the camera and the show begins ; )

( she is always comfortable when rapping. she could even rap naked if asked [ maybe ] ; ) - ( she continues to rap the first couple of lines and the background slowly turns black behind her while the smokes picks up in her surroundings when she reaches the pre-chorus ; )

( she bites her lower lip at ‘devil’ and continues to ride the beat. this was one of her favorite songs that she had yet to cover. especially when she gets to showcase her ‘gizibe’ side of hers. and somehow proclaim it on camera. ; )

❝ i’m mother freaking zombie [queen] ❞

( she puts a crown on her head and she continues to perform in front of the camera. she even dares to dance, which is something that she never does in her covers. it is nothing too complicated. ; ) - ( as the song nears its last verses. the empowered dami throws the skull and it breaks into pieces when it hits the wall behind her. the way it shatters is captured on camera [ the editor adds some effects to it to make it more grandiose ] ; ) - ( she hits the last chorus with so much energy. she smirks ; ) - ( the video glitches when it is the last verse of the song. the beat of song changes and slows down. dami is wearing a see-through veil with her crown on her head. she is now in clothes reminiscent of the beginning of the video except that they are ripped in some places. ; )

hello! name’s robbie. i’m happy to be in rookies. i debated a lot to come here and struggled a lot while i flirted with the idea. i’m here now. 

my muse is dami or the confident underground battle rapper damn!rosalie. she’s 21 (1997 liner). she’s a sailor mouth who loves to crack jokes (her blunt honesty could rough some feathers). she’s confident in her orientation but will not act upon it. if it wasn’t so taboo in korean society, she would have been open (or even out there). she wants to be an idol. she yearns for it, but she still lacks confidence when it comes to her dream. since she’s part of the underground hip-hop scene, it is frown upon to be an ‘idol rapper’ (think of it as in unpretty rapstar and how idol rappers were treated like jimin who is actually a good performer. they have to earn the respect of their peers like yezi who turned out to be a fan favorite). she is born in italy, but that’s it. she is just born there (her mom didn’t notice that she was pregnant...) she lived in switzerland when she was a kid (up to age 5). she does speaks a bit of italian, okay german, more french, even better english and obviously korean. if it wasn’t for the many forced vacations in switzerland to visit her sperm donor, she wouldn’t have learned all these languages. 

music wise, i have based myself mainly on grazy grace, tinashe and yezi if that helps. she’s a rapper for sure, but dance is something that she is practicing hard to be good at. she is a writer. she loves to read and to learn new things. knowledge is power. it gives her ammunition when it comes to battle rapping. she is probably more suited for trc, but she could be swayed by another company that gives her a chance and treats her well enough as an artist.

misc: she owns a house that she received as a gift for her 21st birthday. she is not one to show off her family’s wealth. she actually only lives off the rent money (she rents the 4 bedrooms). she dedicates her day life to be a youth/after-school counselor at a youth center. she really loves working at the youth center. she made friends there. she learns how to dances there. she cultivates her brain there. she feels human, wanted and loved there. it is there that she started thinking about becoming an artist (she is a late bloomer in that sense).

her family was devastated by her parents’ divorce. she calls her father “sperm donor” and does not have that much respect for her mom for hopping so quickly in the arms of another man. she does like her (step)dad. during the divorce, her sibling and her had to move back and forth from switzerland (where her dad had been living due to work) and south korea. she did not manage to make many friends during that time. she doesn’t get easily attached to anyone. 

trigger warning (mental illness and self-harm): during high school, she was bullied. she was bullied for her looks. she lost a lot of confidence in herself and it led to self-harm and anorexia. she is not proud of it. she is actually very ashamed of it. it is the only thing that she fears the most about becoming an idol (to be told that she is ugly and that she should lose weight or should have surgery). it won’t show. her youth center (it was more like an after-school club at the time) helped her through her later years of high school. she wears wristbands because some scars are still pretty evident. (she did not relapse at the time of her debut as a muse in rookies). if we dive deeper (if you want a muse who known her for a very long time or there was a situation that happened, but i’m selective when it comes to that), she would cut herself on the wrist, on the thighs, and on the ribs. she also kept a diary/journal where she would write about her date and record how much she weighed and what she ate. she has kept the habit of writing a diary and a weight journal. she still obsesses about her weigh but she keeps her goal to 45-55kg. she also notes what she did in terms of exercising.
