âHey kid. Want to earn some quick pocket money?â
Those were the rather suspicious words Youngjae had greeted the dancer with once he finished up his busking. He had walked through Hongdae in the hopes of finding someone who could help him without asking too many questions, and this kid seemed talented enough to do the job. Honestly speaking Youngjae wasnât made of money, but he had to make sacrifices here in order to get what he wanted and -- at the risk of judging without knowing anything -- he figured a brat would be easier to bribe because they usually didnât have that much pocket money.
Of course his request had been suspicious as heck, even he knew that much, and he knew very well that he had to elaborate as no sane person would just follow him after that. âTrust me, itâs nothing much,â he explained. âYou just have to go over a dance with me and give me feedback.â

as much as hyojin desperately tries not to, he has a sinking feeling that heâs going to be the one dragging down the performance. itâs already enough that heâs come spiraling down from being at the top once the judges announce that daniel and him placed at the top, only to be paired with two strong dancers, but the fact that they already had to simplify the choreography significantly makes him undoubtedly guilty.
even so, he swallows his insecurities and doesnât even think of breaking down, because that time he spends wallowing in his fears and uncertainties is time he could be spending practicing and practicing and practicing over and over again. heâs grateful that the both of them are patient with him, and that taeyang seemed comfortable enough adding in all the frills and details to the new and improved dance, but being grateful isnât enough. he has to pay it back with his hard work, through sweat and determination.
âtaeyang-ssi, are you busy right now?â he asks it sheepishly, rubbing at the back of his neck, but he really doesnât know what else he can do. âi was wondering if you could look over what i have down so far.â
Trying to practice dancing with Youngjae was a lost cause. While Moonbok was not the disaster heâd been this time last year and Youngjae had improved since heâd joined Sphere, the fact was that attempting to practice together usually degenerated into squabbling and sulky silences before too long.
Which was why Moonbok had decided to shelve his pride and turn to the internet for help. And no sooner had he make the post on twitter (disguised as more of a hypothetical situation) than Eric Sohn was spamming his inbox, eager to show off. And cheeky to boot, instead challenging Moonbok to a dance-off instead of having a mere practice session.
He didnât want to hurt the poor kidâs feelings by turning him down. Thatâs what Moonbok had told himself, at least. It certainly wasnât anything to do with being worried heâd have his ass handed to him by someone who was was younger than Moonbokâs own sister.
Having arrived at the pre-agreed location a few days later, Moonbok waved at the younger boy, smiling despite the nervousness writhing in his stomach. Theyâd been in the MGAs together and taken dances classes together. Moonbok was subscribed to him on YouTube, he knew full well what Ericâs abilities were.
âEric-ah, itâs been a while, how have you been?â Moonbok asked warmly, genuinely happy to see his younger friend.
haru saw the crowd, the sound of music and assumed it was some kind of street performance. those were incredibly common in hongdae, but as he got closer, he saw that it didnât seem to be some kind of performance. so, the fifteen year old paused, moving closer to the front to try and work out what was going on, brows furrowed as he stared at the promotional banner, trying to mouth each word he saw to work out what it said. but he eventually gave up with an annoyed huff, instead turning his attention back to the front as the people running this thing seemed to be looking for volunteers from the crowd.Â
before haru even knew what was really happening, one of them were coming towards him, saying something as they tried to pull him towards the centre.Â
âah... no no,â he tried, desperation in his voice, but it was a little too late, he was dragged in front of the crowd with some other boy. he still had no idea what was going on, face red with embarrassment, heart hammering in his chest as he realised everyone was looking at him. and then the music started playing, but he didnât know what to do, desperately turning to the other boy who had been picked out to try and work out what was happening.Â
               â°â⎠Playful Rivalry â°ââŽ
Seokjin never expected to be here. He had never in a million years thought he would be a participant in a dance-off.Â
Until now.
He canât remember how it all started. A tiny rivalry between two social media personalities. A joke that had somehow brought them here. He had a lot of respect for the male in front of him. They were friends, but somehow the fans preferred them when they were competing. He had no idea why.
Their pretend rivalry had led them to meet at a small studio they had borrowed for their âeventâ. A few people gathered in the room to watch them, cameras positioned around the small room. The two males stood facing each other in the centre of the room. Jin looked at his friend with a smirk upon his face. Right now, they werenât friends, they were competitors.
Jin leaned against the wall, legs crossed and arms folded over his chest as he watched his friend dance. He let himself chuckle at the facial expressions and moves of the other. He shook his head as he watched his rival dance. He wasnât sure if the other was dancing for real or for laughs. Either way, he seemed to know how to entertain.
It was finally his turn and Seokjin felt all eyes on him as he walked to the centre of the room. He opted to dance for real and let the music lead his moves. His arms and legs followed the beat and his hips tried to but he wasnât sure if they were. He suddenly felt embarrassed and regretted agreeing to this dance-off. Once he finished, the two shook hands and thanked everyone before the two males went for lunch.

Sporting a comfortable set of gym wear Sohee praise the spring season, the warm weather a perfect end of the month of April. The crop top reveal toned abs yet allow for the chilly breeze to brush over her skin, leaving goosebumps as a result. It isnât cold outside but ultimately, that wind cool her down nonetheless as she prepare a camera to record.
Sohee doesnât have much confidence in her dancing skills. Now, she isnât awful, but sheâs far way from where she want to be, from where she need to be. That is why she decided to make this particular recording without a friendly audience, so that she can make so mistakes without someone watching behind the scenes. She want this to be perfect.
Not that it will anyway, because itâs meant to be a kkap version, she is supposed to look dorky and extra during the entire video. Yet, she found a quiet and abandoned corner of her beloved neighbourhood. The quiet part isnât too necessary since she will put an audio file over the tape anyway but itâs nice nonetheless, that way she can concentrate well.
She play the audio file that start with DBSK.
The first ten seconds sheâs supposed to have a chair but instead she walk in a crouched kind of manner, her hands swing swiftly through their position in an expressive way. She isnât given any time to adjust before the next song come up and itâs one of her favourites, âOâ. Her moves shift from being soft to very sharp, most of the dance still done by the arms.
One more, two more, three more songs play from DBSK, including Rising sun. Only five to ten seconds are played of each song before the next start playing, which makes this somewhat of intense cardio session. Her stamina is high though, from running once or twice a day, so sheâs planning to deliver the cover with a steady rate of energy. Next up is--
  Super Junior!
The first song up is âMiracleâ, then âMamacitaâ, then âSorry Sorryâ. The latter of these have an iconic dance that probably everyone know to heart, Sohee executing it better than she would have expected to. Sheâs having so much fun moving to the beat, making sure that she doesnât slip up as she has little to no time preparing for the next song.Â
Itâs tiresome, but itâs so much fun. Sohee is smiling throughout the entire dance cover. Thereâs only one song left before switching over to a girl group, one of the most famous ones. CHICHI start off strong with a charismatic pose, arms crossing over the chest with a couple of nods of her hear. âYeah, yeah,â she voice along as she follow the choreo.
âGeeâ is another insanely famous song and Sohee know this too by heart, even more than all those other songs sheâs been through already and the ones coming up. It feel as though itâs a strong insult should one not know the highlights of this particular song. If honest however, one of Soheeâs absolute favourite songs is âHootâ and that is a song away.
As she dance she make a mental note to make a vocal cover of âHootâ, and had she had time to think any further she would ask herself why she hasnât made one already. She has no time for that though, and the songs keep switching every five to ten seconds still. There is a lot of history to press into a humble four minutes, but itâs doable. Barely.
She hasnât even come halfway through. One part of her regret doing this because it feels as if sheâs been dancing forever but the other part of her love it, she love all of the groups that she is going through, although some of the songs arenât her favourites. There are many that isnât included like Son Dambi, Jung Nara, Kangta... but still, many are.
Seungyeon stepped out of the bus and shivered a little from the cold. She pulled her scarf up to her nose and started to walk. Tonight the girl was joining an underground dance competition, so she knew she'd warm up soon enough. She was nervous and had taken two buses early, just in case she would miss one or the bus would be late. In the end nothing went wrong, so when she arrived at the location she was quite early and there were only two other people there. Seungyeon sat down against a wall and pulled out her phone to ease the awkwardness. She fixed her hair into a tight ponytail while looking in the camera and posed for a couple of photo's. Her fingers were cold as she swiped through them to find the best one. She put her phone down for a second, rubbed her hands together en blew on them to warm them up. It only helped a little. Seungyeon picked up her phone again and typed a quick message to go with the picture, letting her instagram followers know she'd be joining the competition tonight. She had almost two hours left until it started, so she grabbed her headphones, turned on her warm-up playlist and started to stretch.
confidence shines brightly from her flow but sheâs never been able to showcase her talents in a huge crowd. in the streets of hongdae, sakura has accepted a dance challenge! which is a rare case as sheâs hesitant to show off what she has to put on the table as she acknowledges that she does need some more work on certain areas before she could say sheâs proud of what sheâs done. nevertheless, isnât it about having fun without fearing othersâ opinions? she might be a friendly flower but she shouldnât have to feel uncomfortable with her own skin. she is who she is!
the choreography isnât a forgettable one, sakura has practised moving to the melody of the song for a couple of weeks now. sheâs learned it from start to finish. at least, itâs not a whole song and just a mere snippet. the young girl doesnât doubt that the girls next to her are better dancers than her but sheâs managed to keep up, not to keen on holding onto worry as thatâll only make her more anxious! to upkeep her goal as triple threat, she has to practice singing, dancing, and rapping a lot. so honestly, itâs easier said than done to stay along the lines of consistency. going from one musical entertainment skill is all about experimenting but can also be deprived of vitality.
but she focuses on the energy that she has, powerful foot movements and strong dynamics of rotation between her and the girls. luckily for her, sakura isnât in the center of the stage. sheâs got her friendly smile complimenting her angelic aura thatâs yet to wilt while moving her body until the songâs done. as the song stops, she bows politely with the other girls and takes off to go home as sheâs got a good pile of homework to tend to.
