The lyrics speak of the passage of time, of accumulated experience and of the connection between people!

Apparently, Greg was not entirely convinced to release the "Pictures" performance! The album was recorded live at Newcastle City Hall on 26 March 1971. The venue was chosen by the band for its spectacular acoustics. Greg was more inclined to release the band's own original material before venturing out such an ambitious adaptation of a classic!

Island Records didn't seem too convinced either. In the end, the album luckily was released and ended up becoming a spectacular success. A historic album that cannot be missing from the collection of any rock fan.
