This dish, Savory Beef Pot Pie, is comforting because it has tender beef, tasty vegetables, and a flaky crust. It's great for a cozy family dinner or a special event.
Ingredients: 1 lb beef stew meat, cubed. 2 tablespoons olive oil. 1 onion, chopped. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 2 carrots, sliced. 2 celery stalks, chopped. 1 cup frozen peas. 1 cup beef broth. 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour. 1 teaspoon dried thyme. Salt and pepper to taste. 1 sheet refrigerated pie crust.
Instructions: Warm the oven up to 190C 375F. Warm up the olive oil in a big pan over medium-high heat. Put in the beef cubes and cook them until all sides are browned. Take the beef out of the pan and set it aside. Put onions and garlic in the same pan. Cook the onions until they become clear. Put the celery and carrots in the pan. Keep cooking until the vegetables get soft. Add flour to the vegetables and mix them around to coat them. Slowly add the beef broth while stirring all the time to keep lumps from forming. Put in pepper, salt, and thyme. Bring the mix to a low boil and cook it until it gets thick. Add the cooked beef cubes and peas and mix them in. Take the pan off the heat. Put the beef mixture in a pie dish that has been greased. Roll out the pie crust and put it on top of the beef mixture. Cut off any extra crust. Make a few holes in the crust to let the steam escape. After the oven is hot, bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown. Pot pie should be left to cool for a while before it is served. Have fun!
