Welcome to the RioWeek2026 Prompt List! This time around I did something a bit unique- each one of the days has a prompt that's a character that's important to Rio/Merag. For anyone struggling with a prompt, feel free to treat that as a free day where you can just do whatever with the two characters, as long as your final submission ties back to Rio!

The event will start on Monday, November 9th to the following Monday, the 16th! Day 3 of the event, the 11th, and the free day themed for Rio herself is a notable day in Yugioh history as it was the airdate of Rio's first full duel in Zexal!

With that out of the way, the prompt list is:

Day 1: Ryoga/Nasch. Rebirth. Kingdom.

Day 2: Durbe. Flight. Prophecy.

Day 3: Free Day, Rio/Merag.

Day 4: Vector. Alternate Universe. Barian.

Day 5: Kotori. Dueling. Memory.

Day 6: Tetsuo. Theatre/sports. Childhood.

Day 7: Thomas/IV. Haunted. Scars.

Submissions can be turned in late, there's no strict deadline! Just @ me when you're done here on Tumblr or let me know via an ask to check a website for a submission and I'll link back to it here! If anyone has any questions about the week or submissions, my inbox is open for one and all!

Hi everyone! Remember RioWeek last year, all the fun we had? Let's do it again! For those who are new or stumbling across this, here's the basics:

This is a week of prompts for artists, writers and more to do in relation to Rio Kamishiro/Rio Kastle from Yugioh Zexal, alongside her counterpart, the Barian's Sword of Ice, Merag/Marin! This event will be hosted here on Tumblr, so either tag this account directly or tag your posts with #RioWeek2026 so I can find them and compile them!

When will it be held?

This event will be hosted from Monday, November 9th to the following Monday, the 16th! Day 3 of the event and the free day themed for Rio herself is a notable day in Yugioh history as it was the airdate of Rio's first full duel in Zexal!

What will be allowed?

Art, fics, edits, memes and more! Anything and everything in relation to Rio will be encouraged! Shipping art is also allowed as long as Rio is a part of the pairing (besides anything with her brother)!

Prompts will be posted before the end of August to give artists and writers the months of September and October to prepare!

This time around, RioWeek is happening starting from Monday, November 9th 2026, ending on the 16th with the final day's prompts! The main prompts will be going live soon, but this time around we're gonna do something cool for each day:

Each of the day prompts will also have a character with a notable tie to Rio or Merag! So if you want to write anything involving their bonds with those characters, you can either incorporate that day's other prompts, or do whatever you want!

The characters tied to each day of RioWeek 2026 are:

Day 1: Ryoga/Nasch.

Day 2: Durbe.

Day 3: Rio/Merag.

Day 4: Vector.

Day 5: Kotori.

Day 6: Tetsuo.

Day 7: IV/Thomas.

Hopefully that serves as a good piece of inspiration before the prompts get formally announced soon. Remember to mark the calendar, November 9th is the first day this time.

Well, I'm gonna be real, I did not think we'd get this far.

I'm putting this up early, probably should give it a day, but I just finished putting up the posts to mark the final day of RioWeek (and hawked it on Discords, whew advertising is exhausting),

I don't have anything big or introspective to say- this was a bit of a spur of the moment decision to make the event, I think it went well, and I'm very thankful to everyone who participated or looked at all the pretty art and cool fics that were made. I did have one final surprise though, and that is this:

With thanks to @eleanorose123 for handling the commission side of things, I got this made to either console myself if no one partook but myself or so anyone who did take part could look at the art and go "Yay." Fortunately, it's the latter.

It's time for a new future for both Rio and Ryoga. New horizons await that will separate them, but it's not a bad thing to chart your own path.
