As for favorite duel... this one IS up there because it has my favorite characters AND the first episode of it in particular looks AMAZING, probably one of the most gorgeous episodes of zexal. Honestly this redraw is inferior to the real screencap in terms of sheer aura. But I did my best with limited time. Also love that this duel is antagonist v antagonist. Those are always a good time. And I think it's great that Nasch was the one that got to give Vector the beatdown rather than Yuma.

That being said its not my actual favorite duel, especially in terms of the Actual Dueling itself, so my fav duels that include the actual dueling would be Nasch v Yuma's last duel because of all the symbolism in how Nasch duels and his despair in it... and Sargasso because its just SO iconic and I really enjoy Astral malfunctioning like the AI he is. I also love how we get to see Vector drop some of his "I'm So CrAzY!" mask there finally when he's psychoanalyzing Astral and observing Dark Zexal. Vector has so much going on but he's introduced into the narrative like a giggling unhinged psycho which... like, he's hamming it up. That's not real. That's just a mask to unsettle people. Obviously the real Vector is observant and scheming, calculating and very good at reading people, but if he's unhinged, its not in the giggling sense--more like because he's lost track of himself and adrift in his own miserable existence. And in Sargasso we get a little bit of, imo, the real calculating Vector that until then we've only seen in brief glimpses of him as Rei when no one was looking.
