It low-key pisses me off when people rate Mike last place like dude he is quite literally the historian of the group. He is literally one of the only reasons the losers are able to beat IT for a SECOND time when they're adults. Bro stayed in Derry to see if IT would ever come back. It doesn't help that in the 2017 movie they literally gave Mike's position to Ben who already had the role of the handyman/builder.
Everyone in the group is important. That should obviously be the take away. The losers club is so special because they're able to beat these supernatural forces without any powers or anything special. They simply have each other which is something IT doesn't have. They all bring something to the table that no one else can even if it isn't explicitly shown/explained.

james ransone wasn't a perfect person but i do wanna say that i was in the IT fandom back when he was "cancelled" and made fun of, and i just wanna say that a lot of that odd and uncomfortable behavior he was displaying then was what mental illness often looks like. mania, paranoia, saying or doing strange and even offensive things, the list goes on and on. i can't even imagine what being a celebrity adds to that. and it isn't as if people didn't know about the trauma he dealt with, he was very open about it. my point here is that when you see someone displaying mental illness, your first instinct shouldn't be to mock or exile them, you should be concerned. you don't have to like their behavior but just please recognize the signs that someone is not okay. it's all about raising awareness for the mentally ill until they make you uncomfortable by behaving mentally ill? i'm sorry, it upsets me. this news really upset me. i obviously didn't know him personally but i hate seeing a person succumb to this, especially knowing how it can feel first hand. please be more aware of mental illness and how it can look, please reach out to those who are suffering, please do not cast them away. that's all i have to say.
i don’t think this account was actually him despite pretending to be but i’m posting this in his honor anyway

I’m sure many knew this already, but James Ransone stopped a neighbour of his from being assaulted/r*ped in 2006 (he was interviewed about it, which you can see here) by chasing the attacker off with a pipe. Because he did that, the police were able to identify the attacker.
The woman who he saved has made a public statement now following his death that I thought some people might want to read 💔
James Ransone spent his entire life battling personal demons and trying to overcome past trauma. He grew up in poverty with an alcoholic parent who suffered from PTSD, was bullied relentlessly by peers, experienced SA by a trusted adult as a child, and turned to painkillers and later heroin to cope. He eventually hit a wall where his options, from his view, were suicide or rehab - he chose rehab. That was 19 years ago.
He had a career, he got married, he had kids. He was trying to address the things he once used drugs to escape from. But he also had serious mental health struggles. He wasn’t perfect, he was ‘problematic’ at times, but he was also very unwell and spoke openly about how he frequently questioned his own reality. He was paranoid and nervous. Certain fanbases didn’t help with that, leading him to largely leave social media to take care of himself and focus on his family.
I don’t know what he’s gone through very recently, I stopped keeping up some time ago, but I’m saddened to hear that it ended this way after all he’s survived up to this point. I feel sad for his wife and young kids. And I feel sad for him.
RIP

Stan: …that’s a map of all of Derry

they were kids that i once knew, they were kids that i once knew.
we've all pretty much agreed that the losers were in love with bill when they were younger, but i can't decide if it's funnier if bill was oblivious to it or if he was completely aware.
on one hand, we have bill denbrough, himbo extraordinaire, having absolutely no idea why mike is always the first one to sit next to him when they see horror flicks, and why every time they do he offers bill the last piece of his candy or the best part of his popcorn (at the top, where there's the most butter). he thinks nothing of it when stan is always just a little bit too eager to help him with his math homework (even though bill sucks at math), or when bev or ben offer to buy him a pepsi every time they pass the drugstore. he doesn't even get why he's the only one who can get richie and eddie to stop bickering with just an eye roll and a "guys, grow up." he doesn't understand why their cheeks flush so red, or why they both seem much more embarrassed than when any of the other losers tell them the same thing.
but on the other hand... we have a version of bill who knows what he wants and Exactly how to get it. this boy literally bats his eyelashes like "wanna go pick a fight with a killer alien clown? i'm pretty sure he eats kids" and he knows that the rest of the losers will agree with no question. he's always able to call shotgun when they all go on roadtrips because the driver always wants to sit next to him. he's never cold because one of the losers is always there to give him their hoodie. he bites his lip and swishes his hair, and his wish is their command. he usually uses this power for good... but he definitely also uses it when he wants the last slice of pizza and he knows that none of the losers would ever tell him no.
third and better option: bill is completely aware and uses his powers for good.
he knows that, whenever the losers are insecure or afraid of something, his words of affirmation will carry the most weight. stan is nervous about doing a presentation for class? bill reminds him of all the other times stan has been able to talk for hours on end about something new he's learned. richie is self conscious about his glasses and awkward growth spurt? bill tells him that he's never looked better.
this goes double for when bev or eddie are afraid that they're not strong enough to stand up to their parents or after mike and ben have spent the day running from henry bowers. bill is like a steadying hand on the group, making sure that they all know that he believes in them. that it doesn't matter what the world thinks of them because they have more strength than they can ever imagine.
and when all of that is coming from bill, the other losers may just be able to believe it.
