1. Infiltrating the mansion grounds and bypassing security
Victoire literally sneaks onto the territory of Eloise's family estate completely undetected. it’s incredibly creepy that a 15 y/o girl has the stealth skills to bypass actual adult security guards just to target a rival. it sets a dangerous, toxic tone right from the start.
2. Theft, manipulation, and property damage
not only does Victoire sneak into the house, but she also steals Mrs. Riffler's phone to use it as a tool against Eloise. to make it even worse, after she finishes using it to manipulate the situation, she just casually tosses it into the pool. the absolute disregard for someone else's expensive personal property is unhinged.
3. Orchestrating a kidnapping and isolating the victim
Victoire actively sets up a physical ambush. while her teammates are actively grabbing and kidnapping Eloise to lock her away, Victoria goes out of her way to reach into Eloise's pants pocket to steal her personal phone too. keeping the phone to make sure Eloise is completely isolated and can't call for help moves this way past a petty sports rivalry and straight into a serious crime.
yet in the end, she's just... FORGIVEN??? all because she had a little chat with Pablo? wow. truly wild. and let's NOT forget: the only thing the Mega Killers actually did for "revenge" was vandalize some city property and scare a few kids. BUT THEY DID IT WITHOUT ACTUALLY HURTING OR PHYSICALLY ASSAULTING ANYONE.
why won't we look directly at the French Penal Code to see what Victoire and the Dolphins team would actually face in real life?
under French law, because they are 15 y/o minors, they benefit from the excuse de minorité (minority excuse), which automatically halves the maximum prison sentence an adult would get. even with that age discount, the numbers are terrifying:
1. The Mega Killers: Public Property Damage & Vandalism
if it was major property damage (breaking public structures, destroying city gear): for an adult, destroying or defacing public property carries a penalty of up to 5 years in prison and a €75,000 fine. halved for 15 y/o minors, they would face up to 2.5 years (usually served as probation or time in a juvenile facility) and their parents would have to pay for the repairs.
if it was minor property damage (like graffiti, tagging, or minor trashing): for adults, this usually results in a heavy fine and community service. for minors, they would almost certainly get TIG (travail d'intérêt général), which is court-ordered community service (like cleaning up the city), plus a minor fine.
crucial point: as bad as vandalism is, it is classified as a property infraction. no one was physically touched, confined, or endangered.
2. Victoria & Oscar's Squad: Arranging a Literal Kidnapping (Séquestration)
this is where the massive double standard happens. what Victoire did wasn't a petty property crime – it's a severe felony against a person.
the adult penalty: in France, kidnapping and illegally detaining someone in an organized group carries a massive penalty of up to 30 years in prison. even if the victim is released safely shortly after, the baseline for basic kidnapping is still 5 to 20 years.
the 15 y/o minor penalty: even with the age discount halving the sentence, Victoire and her teammates would be looking at 2.5 to 15 years in a juvenile prison.
but guess who are the criminals after all 🤦🏻♀️
