7/24/26 I have released the second draft of A Well Placed Pawn to my friends for focus testing, which now clocks in at 63k and change.

run-down signs screaming about hell in the middle of nowhere is my aesthetic though

You don’t know true pants-shitting fear until you’re driving in the middle of nowhere, not a single sign of civilization as far as the eye can see, haven’t seen another living being in three hours, and then out of nowhere suddenly looms a half-destroyed barn with the words “HELL IS REAL” painted on what remains of the roof.

i’m not procrastinating. i’m allowing the story to ferment. like kimchi. or a crime scene

all stories need a part where the protagonists need to sneak into a gala or ball or other fancy event by wearing pretty clothes. this is more important then gay shit like arcs or conclusions

here, you can observe the writer in their natural habitat: not writing their wip. and ah [checks notes] only a few hours before, they were so excited to write said wip. [takes a note] interesting, interesting.

a lot of writing is sort of watching the film in your head like oh sorry can’t write the chapter yet i have to repeat hallucinate the dialogue first

I can do it. I can write a chapter. I am capable of putting sentences together. I know what a comma is. I am Aware of the Character.
